Week 3 vs. GB
Receiving: 2 / 115 / 1 on 3 targets
WR Miles Austin, only playing because WR Sam Hurd was inactive, made the most of his opportunity by hauling in two long passes including a 52 yard touchdown that clinched the win for the Cowboys. Austin looked speedy and was reliable as a deep threat for QB Tony Romo, as the top two Dallas receivers were unable to get anything going in the victory.
Week 4 vs. WAS
Receiving: 3 / 45 / 1 on 6 targets
As teams continue to double both Witten and Owens the Cowboys are forced to give their third receiver some targets. Austin continues to run nice routes and has improved his catching abilities. Late in the fourth quarter Austin scored against the Washington prevent defense when the game was virtually over.
Week 5 vs. CIN
Austin muffed a TD catch in the fourth quarter that fell in the hands of Patrick Crayton.
Week 6 vs. ARI
Receiving: 1 / 14 / 1 on 3 targets
Playing as the third wide receiver in the Cowboys offense Austin only saw limited action, but he did make an impact with his only reception. He ended the opening drive of the second half by catching a perfectly thrown pass just inside the pylon for a touchdown to give the Cowboys a seven point lead.
Week 7 vs. STL
Receiving: 2 / 43 / 0 on 3 targets
Austin was not used much during the early parts of this game. His three targets came in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys needed points through the air. Austin continues to run nice routes and has improved his catching abilities. His first catch he displayed some nice run after the catch ability as he busted it up the middle of the field for a 36 yard gain.
Week 11 vs. WAS
Receiving: 2 / 26 / 0 on 3 targets
During this game Austin saw the field a little more then in past games so far. He made some clutch possession type receptions on third down. The first one was a well run corner route where he showed nice hands to make the reception. His last catch of the game on a third and seven set up the eventual winning touchdown. It is possible that he may see more playing time going forward and may have passed Crayton on the depth chart. It will be worth watching.
Week 15 vs. NYG
Receiving: 1 / 23 / 0 on 1 targets
Austin's only catch came near the end of the third quarter and went for a gain of 23 yards. In addition to his plays on offense, he also averaged 25 yards on three kickoff returns.
Week 16 vs. BAL
Receiving: 0 / 0 / 0 on 1 targets
Miles Austin only saw one target, on a deep pass that was overthrown. Had Austin been able to come up with the ball he had a clear patch to the end zone.
