| 5 | Tony Gonzalez | ATL | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Tony Gonzalez ventured where no tight end had gone before in 2012, when at the age of 36, he caught 93 passes for 930 yards and 8 TDs. He had his most productive season since 2008, four years removed. I expect a slight decrease as Steven Jackson should be more involved in the passing game. I would not be surprised with another season with over 70 receptions, which he has already reached 13 times and he is a great red zone target, averaging 7 TDs per year over the last four in Atlanta.

| 9 | Jermichael Finley | GB | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Jermichael Finley has come full circle from being the prince of hype to a level where he is undervalued. Last year was his least productive injury free season and he still ranked as TE17 while only scoring 2 TDs. He has scored 8 TDs and 5 TDs in his most productive years. He has to share the targets with the other talented receiving options in Green Bay, but each one of them gets their opportunities since Aaron Rodgers excels at finding the open target. Look for Finley’s receptions and TDs to rise slightly and his yards per reception to climb closer to his 12.6 ypc career average.

| 11 | Brandon Pettigrew | DET | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Brandon Pettigrew’s production fell off for the first time in his career. He averaged about 1 catch per game less than in 2011, when he had career highs in catches with 83, yardage with 777 yards and scored 5 TDs. His numbers had improved for three straight years before last year’s dip. However, he remained the second favored target of Matthew Stafford. Detroit selected defensive players, offensive linemen, and a punter with their picks through round five of the draft, so the Lion’s only expected changes are the loss of Titus Young and the gain of Reggie Bush. Bush could siphon some of the tight end targets, but Pettigrew should continue to see his share and should be either the second or third most targeted Lion.

[Jun 7th] Steve Holloway says: Fred Davis had a career year in 2011 with 59 catches for 796 yards, but scored only 3 TDs in 12 games and was the primary receiving weapon for the Redskins. Davis played reasonably well early last season and was on pace for 64 catches and 850 yards, but suffered an achilles’ injury and missed the remainder of the season. Even though he was a free agent, he signed a one-year deal to return to the Redskins and will be playing 2013 for a pay day. According to team reports, he is doing well in his rehab and should be ready for the season.

| 19 | Dwayne Allen | IND | show |
[Jun 7th] Steve Holloway says: Dwayne Allen was drafted by the Colts a year ago in the 3rd round, a full round after Coby Fleener, but Allen had the most successful rookie season with 45 catches for 521 yards (11.6 ypc) and 3 TDs. The Colts’ new offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton has indicated that he wants to have both tight ends involved in the offense and I expect both guys to increase production in 2013, with Allen continuing to lead the way.

| 24 | Heath Miller | PIT | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Before last season, Heath Miller had only two seasons where he finished among the top ten tight ends and that was back in his third and fifth seasons. He has always provided good athleticism and hands at his position, but his lack of production has been due to underuse by the Steelers as he has frequently been relegated to a blocking role. The problem this year may be a slow recovery from knee surgery because they really need receiving options this year, but Miller will likely be hindered early on and not come close to matching his numbers from 2012, when he caught 71 passes for a career high 816 yards and 8 TDs.
