| 1 | Adrian Peterson | MIN | |
| 2 | Ray Rice | BAL | show |
[Jun 5th] Andy Hicks says: Those who fear the presence of Bernard Pierce will cut into the numbers of Ray Rice shouldn't. Rice has been averaging 70 receptions over the last 4 years and that could rise with the departure of Anquan Boldin and no significant replacement in the receiving ranks. Rice will still get more than his share of rushes and I expect his touchdown numbers to be closer to his 2011 total, than last year when he only recorded 10. Rice is one of the safer picks in the 1st round.

[Jun 13th] Andy Hicks says: The history of John Fox coached teams are that rookies are sparingly used, especially when there are other experienced backs are around. Knowshon Moreno demonstrated that he still has something to offer with 500 yards in the last 7 games of 2012. Throw in Ronnie Hillman as a potential 3rd down back and it will require Montee Ball to be an incredible talent to be the dominant back. If he earns it though he will be a force. In the Peyton Manning offense the back has plenty of room to rack up yards. First thing Ball will need to do though is prove he can pass protect. Watch training camp news and if he picks it up quickly, then he will fly up draft charts.

| 32 | Vick Ballard | IND | show |
[Jun 12th] Andy Hicks says: The arrival of Ahmad Bradshaw has to be a concern for Vick Ballard owners. At this stage Ballard is still the starter until Bradshaw can prove he is fit and in charge of the Colts scheme. If he is healthy and able to pass protect, then Bradshaw is the best back on the roster. Until then however Ballard should see the majority of the work and given the average skills he showed in 2012, that doesn't automatically make him fantasy starter material this year. His upside is RB2, but if Bradshaw is ready then he is likely to be a spot starter at best.

| 35 | Knowshon Moreno | DEN | show |
[Jun 13th] Andy Hicks says: Knowshon Moreno demonstrated that he still has use as a running back in the NFL with a nice run at the end of 2012. With Willis McGahee being cut, Moreno stands to see significant work if there is any chink in the armor of rookie Montee Ball. Given the history of John Fox, Moreno will be worthy of fantasy consideration.

| 42 | Ahmad Bradshaw | IND | show |
[Jun 12th] Andy Hicks says: The signing of Ahmad Bradshaw by the Colts makes the fantasy situation interesting. Bradshaw has demonstrated ability, toughness and leadership with the Giants, but has to prove himself in his new environment. Before he can be considered too highly though, he has to prove his fitness and adapt to the Colts scheme. Once he does that he has to beat out Vick Ballard. He is definitely capable of being fantasy relevant this year and news should be followed as it develops.

| 45 | Ronnie Hillman | DEN | show |
[Jun 13th] Andy Hicks says: Ronnie Hillman is an interesting back to consider this year. With Willis McGahee cut, that leaves 3 backs for the Broncos to use in the running game. One or both of Montee Ball or Knowshon Moreno are likely to see the majority of carries, although don't count out Hillman just yet. He is at this stage more likely to be used as a 3rd down back though, so any changes in this will need to be reflected in their fantasy viability.

| 49 | Jacquizz Rodgers | ATL | show |
[Jun 12th] Andy Hicks says: Jacquizz Rodgers is not the future in Atlanta, but he does have a chance for some kind of fantasy relevance given that the Falcons replaced one aging back with another aging back. The record of 30 year old starting backs changing teams is poor, especially with the wear on Steven Jackson's body. That said I don't have confidence in Rodgers in anything other than a bit part role.
