| 1 | Calvin Johnson | DET | show |
[Jun 9th] Steve Holloway says: Calvin Johnson scored only 5 TDs in 2012, after his career high 16 TDs the season before, but still finished as WR1 for the second straight season as he had a career high of 122 catches for a career high 1,964 yards. Matthew Stafford’s number of TD passes fell drastically from 41 TDs in 2011 to only 20 last year. The Lions added another receiving threat in Reggie Bush to the backfield, but Johnson will remain Stafford’s favorite target and Johnson will likely be the first wide receiver taken in almost every draft. You will have to spend a 1st rounder on him or others will have his consistent production this year.

| 32 | Danny Amendola | NE | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Danny Amendola was signed by the Patriots immediately after the team lost Wes Welker in free agency to the Broncos. Amendola has had some success in the NFL with a career high of 85 catches in 2010, but only for 689 yards. He has a career 8.8 ypr and has scored only 7 TDs in four seasons. In addition to the limited production, he is a smallish receiver at only 5’-8” and 183 pounds and has missed a total of 22 games over those four years. He is expected to step into Walker’s role and equal his production, but I will be surprised if he can stay healthy and be the top wide receiver on the team.

| 34 | Antonio Brown | PIT | show |
[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Antonio Brown caught a career high 69 passes in 2011 for 1,108 yards, averaging 16.1 ypc. However, last year he slipped considerably only catching 66 passes for 787 yards. The Steelers lost Mike Wallace in free agency to the Dolphins, so Brown should get more targets, but he has never been the top wide receiver and therefore should see more coverage this season. In addition, Heath Miller is coming off knee surgery so there may not be enough skill players to produce sustained results in the passing game.

[Jun 5th] Steve Holloway says: Pierre Garcon has had only one year where he played in all 16 games in his five years in the NFL. He is still healing from a foot injury early last season and had shoulder surgery in the off-season. He could be the favorite receiver of second year quarterback Robert Griffin III, but he is also recovering from a knee surgery after the playoff loss in January. I just don’t expect sustained success out of Garcon this year.

| 54 | Donnie Avery | KC | show |
[Jun 6th] Steve Holloway says: Donnie Avery has had reasonable success in three of his four NFL seasons. He is coming off career highs for catches with 60 and receiving yardage with 781. He is an excellent addition for the Chiefs who have Dwayne Bowe and role players. He should compete with Jon Baldwin, the team’s 2011 first round pick who has caught only 41 passes in two seasons. The quarterback play will definitely be improved with Alex Smith coming off three successive seasons where he has improved his completion percentage and ypa statistics. I think that Avery’s consistent play will win out over Baldwin and he will be the Smith’s second favorite target in 2013.

| 55 | Malcom Floyd | SD | show |
[Jun 6th] Steve Holloway says: Malcom Floyd has quietly produced for the Chargers for the past four years. Even while missing 11 games over the past three seasons, he has finished as WR36, WR32, and WR36. His 6’5” frame makes him a good red zone target and he has scored 16 TDs over those three years. His current ADP is WR57 and he should provide value above that rank. His chief competition comes from Danario Alexander, who has even more issues staying on the field and Vincent Brown, the Chargers’ 3rd round pick in 2011 who caught 19 passes in his rookie campaign and missed all of last year. I expect Philip Rivers to have a nice bounce back season and it is possible that Floyd winds up as the most productive wide receiver for the team
