Outlook: At times last year, it seemed as if the Rams were playing to set up long field goal attempts for their rookie kicker. Zuerlein attempted 13 from 50+ yards, including a made 60 yarder and a 66 yarder that was wide (not short). Overall, he started off strong, not missing any kicks during the first five games, but tapered off thereafter. Zuerlein will be working with the same two co-specialists this year --- holder/punter Johnny Hekker and long snapper Jake McQuaide. The key coaching staff members remain intact from last year. Following a top ten ranking in kicker scoring attempts in 2010, the Rams plummeted to 31st in 2011, and then rebounded slightly (24th) last year. It's not whether you win or lose, it's how many long bombs you kick.
