Outlook: Between a late start, injuries and a suspension, Hartley did not kick a full season in during the first four years of his NFL career. That changed in 2012 when he played all year. He was kept far busier on extra points than on field goal attempts. He did see four long range attempts, making three of them. Last summer Hartley was competing against veteran John Kasay. This year Hartley is the established veteran joined by rookie Jose Carlos Maltos. Thomas Morstead will again handle the punting, kickoffs and holding. Justin Drescher is back at long snapper. The key coaching staff members remain intact from last year and Bounty-gate is behind them. The Saints have bounced in and out of the top ten, ranking 21st, 2nd, 11th, 4th, and 14th in attempted kicking points the past five years. The signs point towards a return to the top ten in 2013.
