Outlook: The former Saint UFA came last year in free agency. Lacking prototypical measurables at 6'0", 225 pounds, Dunbar brought valued positional versatility. A collegiate middle linebacker at Boston College, he played multiple linebacker positions (inside and outside) while in New Orleans. Dunbar was a revelation on the weakside his first season in St. Louis, setting new personal records almost across the board, with 90 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, 2 INTs and 2 FFs. This outburst was good for a LB1 finish in some IDP scoring systems. With the drafting of prized second first rounder in 2013 (with Tavon Austin), Alec Ogletree, there are now some questions about where and how Dunbar will be deployed. It wouldn't be a surprise if he is shunted to strongside linebacker to accommodate the far higher pedigree rookie on the weakside. An ultimately even bigger question regarding his future fantasy relevance is who the three down linebacker will be with Laurinaitis. Ogletree is a former safety drafted in part for his potential to be above average in coverage, seemingly favoring his prospects in nickel situations.
