GB - Peyton Hillis to visit -
The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to meet with unrestricted free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Chiefs).
NE - Could show interest in two RBs -
The New England Patriots could show interest in free-agent RB Michael Turner (Falcons) and Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis this offseason if they are willing to accept the role as a goal-line back.
Footballguys view: Adding Hillis would be interesting given his less than friendly history with OC Josh McDaniels.
KC - Have depth at RB -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles was a stud in his return from knee surgery, gaining over 1,500 yards on the ground. While RB Peyton Hillis, an unrestricted free agent, is not likely to be back. However, FB Nate Eachus and RB Shaun Draughn provide some decent depth, as well as RB Cyrus Gray. New head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey aren't expected to have to tinker much with this position.
Footballguys view: We like the upside of a guy like Gray here. Reid likes versatile RBs who can make an impact as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Gray is one of the more versatile players on the team and can help out in many different ways.
KC - Peyton Hillis headed for free agency -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis is an unrestricted free agent, and it is unlikely that he is brought back after an uninspiring season with the team.
Footballguys view: Hillis was barely used this season with the Chiefs even though he was playing under the OC (Brian Daboll) who was able to get 1,000 yard season out of him with the Browns. He'll go somewhere else as a veteran backup or goalline RB.
MIA - Interested in Peyton Hillis? -
The Miami Dolphins could potentially look at Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis this offseason as he would fit the team's offense nicely.
Footballguys view: Hillis has been underused and injured this year with the Chiefs despite playing under OC Brian Daboll. With the Browns Daboll used Hillis like a battering ram and he responded with the only 1,000 yard season of his career. The Dolphins could use Hillis as a power back and receiver out of the backfield behind Reggie Bush (provided he returns to Miami).
KC - Peyton Hillis surpasses 100-yard mark -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis rushed for 101 yards on 15 carries in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Footballguys view: Hillis had his best game of the season against the papier mache run defense. He'll probably be signed as a backup running back next year.
KC - Peyton Hillis in a war of words -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis engaged in a war of words with former teammate Cleveland Browns LT Joe Thomas. Thomas criticized Hillis for creating a 'toxic' situation and a 'terrible distraction' during his final season in Cleveland, marred by a contract dispute. Hillis missed a game with strep throat and five others with a hamstring injury, and Thomas accused Hillis of refusing to play because of his contract situation. 'Joe Thomas, he can have his opinions all he wants,' Hillis said. 'He's kind of like a crazy ex-girlfriend. It's been over a year. Get over it.'
KC - Peyton Hillis probable -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 8.
Footballguys view: Hillis will be back this week, which makes him a what the heck flex level play on a Chiefs team that wants to run the ball as much as possible.
KC - Peyton Hillis fully practices -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 25, and should be available to play Week 8.
Footballguys view: Hillis should help a Chiefs team that wants to run as much any team in the league. He's a what the heck flex play in deep leagues against a weak Raiders team that should mean a close game.
KC - Peyton Hillis could play -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) could play in Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders for the first time since Week 3. Hillis practiced Wednesday, Oct. 24, and thinks he'll be ready to suit up.

KC - Peyton Hillis expected to practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) is scheduled to take part in practice Wednesday, Oct. 24, but will be closely monitored.
Footballguys view: We'll see if Hillis can stay healthy when he gets back to practice. Brian Daboll's offense could use a power back like Hillis, but the veteran is struggling with durability.
KC - Jamaal Charles dinged up -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (back) is limited by a back injury in practice this week. Also, RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) and DL Glenn Dorsey (calf) continue to be limited but could be ready for Week 8 against the Oakland Raiders.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs need to do everything they can to keep Charles healthy. He's the centerpiece of their offense and their best weapon. The bye week should help Charles feel better.
KC - Week 6 Inactives -
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared OL Bryan Mattison, LB Bryan Kehl, WR Devon Wylie, DL Glenn Dorsey, QB Matt Cassel, RB Peyton Hillis, FS Tysyn Hartman inactive for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Shaun Draughn and Cyrus Gray will split the backup duties to Jamaal Charles with Hillis out.
KC - Peyton Hillis ruled out for Week 6 -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and has been ruled out of the team's Week 6 game.
Footballguys view: Cyrus Gray and Shaun Draughn will back up Jamaal Charles again this week.

KC - Peyton Hillis should return after bye -

KC - Peyton Hillis misses practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 10.
KC - Will continue to run -
The Kansas City Chiefs plan to continue to pound the ball on the ground, regardless of who their quarterback is under center. They ran the ball 49 times compared to 19 pass plays in their Week 5 loss, and they rank second in the league in rushing. RB Jamaal Charles leads the league with 551 yards and is tied for third with 102 attempts. RB Shaun Draughn carried the ball 12 times and RB Cyrus Gray had four carries last week. RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) will be involved, too, when he returns from injury.
Footballguys view: Go with your strength. The Chiefs are a much better running team than they are a passing team. Most numbers guys like QB Matt Cassell or WR Dwayne Bowe have put up this year have been late in games when they're playing 'catch up' football.
KC - Peyton Hillis unlikely to play -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) is unlikely to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.
Footballguys view: Without Hillis in the lineup we could see more from Shaun Draughn or Cyrus Gray. Feel free letting Hillis go in your fantasy league.
KC - Week 5 Inactives -
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared WR Devon Wylie, DL Glenn Dorsey, CB Jalil Brown, FS Kendrick Lewis, RB Peyton Hillis, QB Ricky Stanzi, DL Ropati Pitoitua inactive for Week 5.
Footballguys view: Shaun Draughn will still back up Jamaal Charles with Hillis out. The Chiefs defensive line will be short-handed today, which is great news for Ray Rice.
KC - Peyton Hillis ruled out for Week 5 -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) missed practice Friday, Oct. 5, and has been ruled out for the team's Week 5 game.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Hillis is a fantasy bust so far this year. Feel free to let him go in favor of waiver wire RBs like Brandon Bolden or Ronnie Hillman.
KC - Peyton Hillis unlikely for Week 5 -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) will not practice Friday, Oct. 5, making him unlikely to play in Week 5.
Footballguys view: Hillis isn't involved that much when he is healthy. Feel free to drop him from your roster.
KC - Peyton Hillis misses practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 4.
Footballguys view: Feel free dropping Hillis from your roster in favor of waiver wire additions like Patriots RB Brandon Bolden or Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman.
KC - Peyton Hillis will not practice Thrusday -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) will not practice Thursday, Oct. 4, according to head coach Romeo Crennel.
Footballguys view: Hillis is banged up and not used that much when healthy. Feel comfortable dropping him for waiver wire RBs like Ronnie Hillman or Brandon Bolden.
KC - Peyton Hillis misses practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Footballguys view: No official word on his playing status for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Check back to see if he can practice later in the week. His role on the Chiefs offense isn't that big and most fantasy owners can feel safe dropping Hillis for better waiver wire options.
KC - Week 4 Inactives -
The Kansas City Chiefs have declared OL Bryan Mattison, WR Devon Wylie, DL Glenn Dorsey, FS Kendrick Lewis, TE Kevin Boss, RB Peyton Hillis, QB Ricky Stanzi inactive for Week 4.
KC - Peyton Hillis doubtful -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 28, and is listed as doubtful for Week 4.
Footballguys view: Hillis probably isn't worth carrying any longer in shallow leagues with Jamaal Charles looking like his old self.
KC - Peyton Hillis misses practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Sept. 27.
Footballguys view: If Hillis can't play on Sunday against the Chargers we'll then see more from Shaun Draughn. Fantasy owners need to have his name in their waiver wire speed dial.
KC - Peyton Hillis still in boot Wednesday -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) was still in his walking boot Wednesday, Sept. 26, and was not able to practice.
Footballguys view: It doesn't appear that Hillis will be able to play this week against the Chargers. Fantasy owners need to have backup RB Shaun Draughn on their waiver wire speed dial. Draughn will backup Jamaal Charles if Hillis can't play.
KC - Peyton Hillis misses practice -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Footballguys view: Hillis may not be able to play this week against the Chargers. Check back to see if he practices on Thursday or Friday.

Footballguys view: No official word on his playing status. Check back during the week to see if he practices.
KC - Peyton Hillis leaves game early -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) left the game early Week 3 after suffering an ankle injury and is considered questionable to return.
KC - Peyton Hillis quiet in team debut -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis had just seven carries for 16 yards in Week 1 against the Atlanta Falcons, and he added three catches for eight yards. Hillis had just one more touch than RB Shaun Draughn, a preseason sensation. Draughn managed six carries for 29 yards and a score, while added two catches for 12 yards.
Footballguys view: Hillis did not look as good as he did in 2010, and the Chiefs never really got him steadily involved in the offense. Next week against Buffalo could be better if they can keep the game close, but Hillis's value took a big hit with this performance.
KC - Will ride hot hand at RB -
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel loves RB Jamaal Charles' speed and RB Peyton Hillis' power, and he plans to use both backs often in Week 1. However, Crennel added the flow of the game will dictate which back sees more time. 'Just how we feel, how it's going,' Crennel said when asked if he has a carry-split plan for Charles and Hillis. 'And, that's totally honest with you. You can't say how a game is going to go. We go up there and we work all these hours at night and we put a game plan together, but if a play is not working, then you don't keep calling that play. So, whatever is working, that's what we're going to call, and that's why many times you look at that offensive call sheet that has so many plays on it because if they're not working, then you've got something else to go to.'
Footballguys view: We've been calling this all offseason. The dreaded hot hand approach will make it difficult to predict which RB will have the better game from week to week. Both Hillis and Charles are talented receivers out of the backfield. We like both as RB2s with various upside on a weekly basis.
KC - Peyton Hillis likes potential of team -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis said he believes the team is the most talented he has ever been part of. 'As far as the team goes this is by far the most talented team that I have been on,' Hillis said. 'We just have to put a few things together and start clicking on a lot of cylinders. If we do that I think we can win some ball games.'
Footballguys view: The Chiefs have a good team on both sides of the ball. Offensively they have a strong ground game and plenty of receiving weapons. Defensively they're strong against the run and have a good secondary. They had a rough preseason but expect to perform better for the regular season.
KC - Reserve RBs see most reps -
Kansas City Chiefs RBs Shaun Draughn and Cyrus Gray received most of the work at running back Wednesday, Aug. 8, leaving little work for RBs Jamaal Charles (knee) and Peyton Hillis.
Footballguys view: We could see Gray developing into a quality backup runner and receiver out of the backfield. He's a jack of all trades, but a master of none and we don't think he has the skill set to be anything more than a change of pace RB.
KC - Peyton Hillis in great shape -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis is in outstanding shape and looks ready to be a contributor in the offense this year. He's running with urgency and physicality in training camp, and he's shown soft hands in the receiving game during practice.
Footballguys view: Hillis is a steal if you can get him in the eighth round or later. He'll get close to a starter's workload as long as the Chiefs are a competitive team, and they should be even better than last year with Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles back in the lineup.
KC - Would like to use top two RBs a lot -
The Kansas City Chiefs would like RBs Jamaal Charles and Peyton Hillis to touch the ball 500 times combined this season.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs could use both in the backfield at the same time. Both Hillis and Charles are good receivers with Hillis being the better short yardage runner and Charles being the best big play threat. We see this as a hothand approach for the Chiefs in 2012, which complicates things for fantasy owners.
KC - Built to run in 2012 -
The Kansas City Chiefs are built to run the football in 2012. During the offseason, their three major additions - OL Eric Winston, RB Peyton Hillis and TE Kevin Boss - were aimed at helping the running game. Hillis should give the team a strong balance to RB Jamaal Charles (knee). If the Chiefs are able to get the football in the hands of Charles and Hillis at least 500 times this year, it should lead to a successful season.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs are built to make a playoff push in 2012. Their defense and run game are very strong but their QB position is suspect. If they can run the ball effectively it will keep the pressure off of QB Matt Cassel.
KC - RB Charles vows to return as same player -
Adam Teicher, from the Kansas City Star, reports via Twitter that Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles vows to return as the same player he was before the knee injury.
Footballguys view: Charles will be 12 months removed from the injury by the time the regular season begins and should be close to full strength. The Chiefs added Peyton Hillis is free agency and will use him in a RBBC with Charles. This rotation should help keep Charles fresh in 2012.
KC - Peyton Hillis willing to accept any role -
Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis said he does not know what his role will be at this point but is willing to accept any role the team gives him. "You've got to have an open mind. That's what I'm going to do, and whatever role they're going to give me, I'm going to try to be good at it and try to succeed," Hillis said. Hillis could see time at fullback this season.
Footballguys view: Hillis knows he is playing for his next contract and he also has to redeem his status in the view of the NFL after a 2011 pockmarked by questions about his commitment to his team.
KC - Upgrading running back depth was a priority entering free agency -
The Kansas City Chiefs planned to target RB Peyton Hillis when the free-agent market opened, according to general manager Scott Pioli. 'One of our goals going into free agency this year was to build depth at the running back position and we are pleased to add a talented player like Peyton to the mix,' Pioli added. Head coach Romeo Crennel said Hillis is a 'big, strong, physical back with a lot of talent and he should fit into our system well. We are looking forward to working with him and adding him into our offense.'
Footballguys view: The addition of Hillis is bad news for Jamaal Charles' fantasy owners. We could see a full blown RBBC if both backs are healthy. Hillis should be the better option at the goalline too.
KC - Financials for Peyton Hillis -
Updating a previous report, the deal signed by Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis Wednesday, March 14, is for one-year, $3 million.
KC - Peyton Hillis agrees to terms -
The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to terms with free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Browns) Wednesday, March 14. Terms were undisclosed.
Footballguys view: It's clear the Chiefs wanted an upgrade behind starter Jamaal Charles and they get that with Hillis. He knows Brian Daboll's offense very well, and had a career year when he played under him in Cleveland back in 2010. This is bad news for Charles' fantasy owners as Hillis is a good receiver and has a nose for the red zone.
KC - Peyton Hillis to visit -
Updating a previous item, free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Browns) will visit the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a source.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs want an upgrade to their RB corps behind starter Jamaal Charles. Signing Hillis could cut into the fantasy value of Charles as Hillis could split carries and get most of the goalline touches.
KC - Might bring Peyton Hillis in for visit -
The Kansas City Chiefs might be interested in free-agent RB Peyton Hillis (Browns), and he might be coming to Kansas City to visit with the team.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs are intent on upgrading the depth in their RB corps. Hillis also knows new Chiefs OC Brian Daboll's offense. He had the most productive year of his career working under Daboll in 2010. If Hillis is signed it could put a serious dent in the fantasy value of Jamaal Charles.
CLE - Likely will offer Peyton Hillis incentive-laden deal -
The Cleveland Browns likely will offer impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis an incentive-laden contract this offseason but will allow Hillis to test free agency.
CLE - Likely will offer Peyton Hillis incentive-laden deal -
The Cleveland Browns likely will offer impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis an incentive-laden contract this offseason but will allow Hillis to test free agency.
