NYJ - Teammate does not think Mike Goodson will stay -
New York Jets OG Willie Colon said he does not think RB Mike Goodson will remain with the team after being arrested earlier this week. 'It's one of the things where it's zero-tolerance with stuff like that,' Colon said. 'It's sad. Mike could have been huge for us.'
Footballguys view: Colon is getting a little ahead of himself here. We wouldn't be surprised if Goodson was cut by the Jets but he was guaranteed $2MM and that price tag could keep him on the roster. Goodson could get jail time and a suspension is also looming for the veteran back.
NYJ - Update on Mike Goodson -
Updating a previous report, New York Jets RB Mike Goodson was arrested Friday, May 17, and charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a loaded handgun and possession of a hollow-point bullet. | NYJ - Chris Ivory acquired - |
The New York Jets have acquired RB Chris Ivory from the New Orleans Saints for a fourth-round pick.
Footballguys view: The acquisition of Ivory will help fill the gap left by the underwhelming Shonn Greene but how will it affect Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight? Ultimately, if Ivory is healthy, he's likely to get the most carries in this backfield.
NYJ - Mike Goodson expected to be favorite for starting job -
New York Jets RB Mike Goodson is expected to be the favorite to win the starting running back job next season.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Goodson has flashed starter's ability earlier in his career when he was with the Panthers. With Shonn Greene (Titans) moving on in free agency the starting RB job is wide open. Goodson has the best all-around skill set on the Jets roster right now.
NYJ - Mike Goodson unsure about snap distribution for RBs -

NYJ - Mike Goodson believe he fits offense -
New York Jets RB Mike Goodson said he believes he will fit in the team's new West Coast offense. 'I definitely think it highlights some things that I do in my game, catching the ball out of the backfield, being able to isolate some linebackers, run some routes and also run the ball between the tackles, so I think it's going to be good,' Goodson said.
Footballguys view: Goodson is a complete RB with big play ability as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. He'll compete with Bilal Powell for the starting job in training camp.
NYJ - Mike Goodson believes his time is now -
New York Jets RB Mike Goodson said Wednesday, March 20, that his role has yet to be spelled out, but he feels his time is now to take the next step in his career. Goodson has solid speed, and he has the ability to catch the ball and go for big plays. He had three receptions for at least 40 yards last season with the Oakland Raiders.
Footballguys view: Goodson flashed starter's ability when he was with the Panthers earlier in his career. He'll compete with Bilal Powell to be the Jets leading RB in 2013.
NYJ - Had interest in Danny Woodhead -
The New York Jets expressed interest in San Diego Chargers RB Danny Woodhead but decided to sign RB Mike Goodson and allowed Woodhead to sign with the Chargers.
Footballguys view: Woodhead started his career with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Chadron State in 2008. He was with the Jets for two seasons before getting cut early in 2010.
NYJ - Mike Goodson to compete for starting job -
New York Jets RB Mike Goodson is expected to have a significant role with the team. He could potentially be the team's starting running back in 2013. RBs Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight do not have experience as every-down backs, and the Jets feel Goodson was one of the top sleepers in free agency.
Footballguys view: Goodson was a sleeper of free agency but durability concerns prevented him from drawing more interest. He proved during his time with the Panthers that he could produce as a starter and now has to be considered the favorite to win the job with the Jets.

The Oakland Raiders ran for a season-high 203 yards in their Week 15 win, using a mix of zone-blocking and power runs. RB Darren McFadden amassed 110 yards rushing; RB Mike Goodson added 89 yards.
Footballguys view: The Raiders changed to a zone blocking system under Dennis Allen but it's not a style that fits McFadden. He's more of a power set runner and the Raiders have finally started using more of those plays to jump start the ground game.
OAK - Team posts season-high in rushing -
Oakland Raiders RBs Mike Goodson and Darren McFadden helped the team to a season-high 203 rushing yards in the Week 15 win against the Kansas City Chiefs. Footballguys view: Reece goes back to primarily being a receiving threat for the Raiders but he should get a few carries. The Raiders will use him as a receiver out of the backfield, but also put him outside in trips formation. He's still worth a flex start in PPR leagues even though RB Darren McFadden should be back in the lineup.

He said he is disappointed that he missed out on the opportunity to be the lead back while RB Darren McFadden (ankle) has been sidelined. 'You see McFadden go down, and I was the next guy in line,' Goodson said. 'You kind of want to get out there and show everybody what you can do, and then I go down with an ankle. The exact same injury (as McFadden), the exact same game.' Goodson has been ruled out for the Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
OAK - Two ruled out -
Oakland Raiders RB Mike Goodson (ankle) and DT Richard Seymour (knee, hamstring) did not practice Friday, Nov. 23, and are out for Week 12.

OAK - Two do not practice -

The Oakland Raiders have declared RB Darren McFadden, OG Lucas Nix, RB Mike Goodson, DL Richard Seymour, QB Terrelle Pryor, SS Tyvon Branch, OT Willie Smith inactive for Week 11.

OAK - Top two RBs still out -
Oakland Raiders RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) are not participating in practice Thursday, Nov. 15.
Footballguys view: Without Goodson and McFadden on the field we'll see FB Marcel Reece be the team's primary runner and receiver out of the backfield. He makes for a nice RB2 in PPR leagues this week against the Saints.
OAK - RB rotation might be similar to last week -
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen indicated Wednesday, Nov. 14, that if RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) are out again, the rotation in the backfield in Week 11 will be similar to last weekend against the Baltimore Ravens. FB Marcel Reece had 13 carries, while RB Jeremy Stewart had seven rushes and RB Taiwan Jones had two carries.
Footballguys view: This is the pattern for the Raiders to follow. Jones can't be trusted with a bigger role yet, so Reece should see most of the touches out of the backfield.
OAK - Mike Goodson misses practice -

OAK - Two RBs still in walking boots -
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) are still wearing walking boot.
Footballguys view: No official word on their playing status for week 11. High ankle sprains are all different, so don't think of them as 'dreaded high ankle sprains' any longer. We'll be monitoring both of these RBs practice status during the week.
OAK - Run game invisible in Week 10 -
The Oakland Raiders gained just 72 yards rushing on 24 carries in Week 10 without RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle).
Footballguys view: No real surprise here given the fact they were down most of the game against the Ravens. FB Marcel Reece was a nice flex option in PPR leagues this week because of his 7 catches for 56 yards in addition to his 13 rushes for 48 yards.
OAK - Darren McFadden, Mike Goodson may miss Week 11 -
Oakland Raiders RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) will not play in Week 10 and they may miss the team's Week 11 game as well, according to head coach Dennis Allen. Footballguys view: Goodson would have easily been the top pickup of the week if he hadn't hurt his ankle after Darren McFadden left the game last week. It looks like Goodson won't be ready before McFadden is, so he's not worth a pickup right now, even in deep leagues.
OAK - Mike Goodson's status to be known later in week -
Oakland Raiders RB Mike Goodson's (ankle) MRI on his ankle came back negative and head coach Dennis Allen said his status will determined later in the week.
Footballguys view: Goodson would be a nice fantasy starter if he can play and if Darren McFadden is out. His status is considered day-to-day.
