DAL - Tom Brandstater claimed -
The Dallas Cowboys have claimed free-agent QB Tom Brandstater (Dolphins) and WR Dominique Edison (Seahawks) off waivers.
Footballguys view: Brandstater is a camp arm, and will be hard pressed to find a spot on the final roster. Edison has a good size/speed combination but needs to develop as a route runner.

The Tennessee Titans have declared CB Cortland Finnegan, DL Dave Ball, WR Dominique Edison, DL Jason D. Jones, WR Lavelle Hawkins, LB Stanford Keglar, OT Troy Kropog, FS Vincent Fuller inactive for Week 4.
Footballguys view: The Titans secondary is down their best corner and an important part of their nickel package. That should offset David Garrard being without his rookie pair of offensive tackles.
TEN - Edison catching everything thrown his way -
Jim Wyatt and Gary Estwick, from the Tennessean, report wide receiver Dominique Edison, a sixth-round selection, has caught nearly every ball thrown his way at training camp, putting pressure on the three players ahead of him --- Lavelle Hawkins, Chris Davis and Paul Williams. The mix of good hands and 4.36 speed has impressed offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. "Dominique is one guy who's come out here every day and gotten better," Heimerdinger said. "You look for that in camp."
Footballguys view: He hasn't caught any passes in the first two preseason games, but he has been getting open according to head coach Jeff Fisher. Edison was second in the nation last year, with 18 TD catches at Stephen F. Austin, and the Titans would love to unlock that playmaking ability at the pro level. The Titans may be tempted to try and sneak him through to the practice squad, but would be in danger of losing him to another team.
TEN - Contract update: Edison -
Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans WR Dominique Edison signed a four-year deal with base salaries of $310,000 (2009), $395,000 (2010), $480,000 (2011) and $565,000 (2012).
TEN - Edison signed -
Jason La Canfora, of The NFL Network, reports the Tennessee Titans have signed sixth-round draft choice WR Dominique Edison to a four-year deal, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Edison has big talent even though he came from a small school. He's a long-limbed 6'2" with 4.45 speed and outstanding body control and physical play. He dominated at the FCS level, and he has enough athletic talent and history of productivity to not be too surprised if he ends up sticking on the Titans roster for the long haul.
TEN - Edison agrees to terms -
Jim Wyatt, of The Nashville Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with sixth-round draft choice WR Dominique Edison on a four-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Edison is the superfast WR from Stephen F. Austin. Edison has natural hands and regularly catches the ball with his arms extended away from his body. He has good body control and quickly gets in and out of his breaks. Unlike other small school prospects he has the size/speed combo to be more than a complementary receiver.
