Panthers | DeAngelo Williams probable    Fri Sep 26, 03:16 PM

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is probable for Week 4.

Footballguys view: Williams should get enough touches to be a solid RB2, and the fact that he's probable means that the Panthers aren't forcing him back into the lineup because they have to. We'll still be watching UDFA Darrin Reaves to see if he can get his foot in the door for the wide open long-term backfield situation in Carolina.

Ravens | Steve Smith listed as probable    Fri Sep 26, 03:07 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Steve Smith (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 4.

Footballguys view: You don't want to have Smith on your bench in his first game against his old Panthers team.

Ravens | Bernard Pierce expected to play    Fri Sep 26, 02:57 PM

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 4.

Footballguys view: The big question is whether Pierce goes back to being a full-fledged lead back, or if Lorenzo Taliaferro's Week 3 performance forces a three-way committee, leaving no Ravens back with considerable fantasy value.

Colts | Ahmad Bradshaw, Reggie Wayne practice    Fri Sep 26, 02:49 PM

Bears | Brandon Marshall questionable    Fri Sep 26, 02:31 PM

Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is questionable for the team's Week 4 game.

Footballguys view: Marshall had a huge game when he seemed unlikely to go, and a dud when he was a sure thing. You probably have to play him as long as he is active against the Packers weak secondary, but you know a wide range of outcomes is possible.

Titans | Friday injury report for Week 4    Fri Sep 26, 02:23 PM

  Texans | Arian Foster a game-time decision    Fri Sep 26, 02:22 PM

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will be a game-time decision for Week 4, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Footballguys view: Foster is worth a play as an RB2 if he goes, re-injury risk and all, because the Texans should control the game against the Bills. If he can't go, Alfred Blue becomes an RB2 start.

Steelers | Friday injury report    Fri Sep 26, 02:17 PM

Pittsburgh Steelers LB Ryan Shazier (knee) and CB Ike Taylor (forearm) have been ruled out for Week 4.   Titans | Delanie Walker questionable    Fri Sep 26, 02:02 PM

Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker (shoulder) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is questionable for Week 4.

Footballguys view: Check back at game time if you are planning on playing Walker. Charlie Whitehurst is probably in line to get the start, and he could lean on Walker the way Jake Locker has in the first three games.

Falcons | Roddy White probable    Fri Sep 26, 01:44 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (hamstring) is probable for Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings, and he will play.

Footballguys view: The "probable" tag should remove any hesitation to put White back in your lineup this week.

Falcons | Harry Douglas a question mark    Fri Sep 26, 01:39 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Harry Douglas (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Footballguys view: Whether Douglas plays or not, look for Devin Hester's role to continue to grow on offense.

Jets | Jeremy Kerley could be targeted often    Fri Sep 26, 01:38 PM

New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley has been targeted 24 times in three games this year, and that's likely to continue into Week 4 against the Detroit Lions with WR Eric Decker (hamstring) still dealing with a hamstring injury. The Lions have also used six different players in the slot cornerback, where Kerley lines up.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart questionable    Fri Sep 26, 01:29 PM

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (knee) returned to practice Friday, Sept. 26, but is questionable for Week 4 against the Baltimore Ravens. It looks like Stewart is a long shot to play this weekend.

Jets | Eric Decker's status uncertain    Fri Sep 26, 01:25 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is questionable for Week 4.

Footballguys view: If Decker is active, he still comes with risk of re-injury or early departure as a precaution, and the matchup against the Lions is tough. He is only a low-end WR3/Flex this week, but he does have big play upside.

Link to story
Eric Decker player page

Titans | Jake Locker questionable    Fri Sep 26, 01:14 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (wrist) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 4 game.

Footballguys view: Longtime beat writer Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean has him close to doubtful/out. Look for a Charlie Whitehurst start this weekend, which keeps the entire Titans offense as questionable for your fantasy football lineup.

Chiefs | Joe McKnight tear's Achilles'    Fri Sep 26, 01:13 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Joe McKnight (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' in the team's practice Thursday, Sept. 26.

Footballguys view: McKnight had just arrived back on the scene with a nice week against the Dolphins porous coverage against running backs in the passing game last week. Cyrus Gray's stance as the Chiefs #3 running back is solidified.

Joe McKnight player page

Jaguars | Marqise Lee ruled out    Fri Sep 26, 12:47 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers.

Footballguys view: Fellow rookie second-round pick Allen Robinson will get another chance to make a mark with rookie #3 overall pick Blake Bortles at QB against the Chargers. He's an upside WR3/Flex play in PPR leagues.

Link to story
Marqise Lee player page

Jets | Eric Decker practices, expects to play    Fri Sep 26, 12:44 PM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) practiced Friday, Sept. 26, and said he definitely expects to play in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions. He said this week is night and day compared to last week.

Footballguys view: Decker's involvement should be limited, so he is a risky play against a tough Lions defense.

Lions | Joseph Fauria on crutches    Fri Sep 26, 12:40 PM

Detroit Lions TE Joseph Fauria (ankle) was on crutches Friday, Sept. 26. He injured himself in an accident at home earlier in the week.

Footballguys view: Eric Ebron becomes a potential waiver wire starter at tight end this week to cover a Julius Thomas or Jordan Cameron bye this week.

Vikings | Cordarrelle Patterson staying patient    Fri Sep 26, 12:22 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson had three carries for 102 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 1, but he has just one carry since then - a reverse that lost seven yards. With RB Adrian Peterson not around, though, Patterson hasn't asked to be more involved in the running game. "I trust everything coach Norv Turner is doing and the offensive staff," Patterson said. "When my time comes, my time is going to come and I'll be ready for it." Turner said the New Orleans Saints matched their best cornerback, Keenan Lewis, on Patterson and limited him to four catches for 61 yards. Turner wants to find more opportunities for Patterson, but he also wants to keep the offense balanced without Peterson.

Footballguys view: Patterson's underuse by the Vikings has been egregious in light of the team's loss of Adrian Peterson as their primary playmaker. Teddy Bridgewater is very accurate on short and intermediate passes, and that should set up Patterson for prime run after catch opportunities. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner also needs to get Patterson more involved as a runner. Look for a correction in Patterson's disppointing production the last two weeks on Sunday.

Bears | Matt Forte frustrated with ground game    Fri Sep 26, 12:17 PM

Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte is frustrated his performance early this season. He currently has a 3.2 yards per carry average and has 54 rushing yards on 25 carries in the last two weeks. 'It is frustrating, especially during the game because it's not because we are not calling runs,' Forte said. 'We are calling runs.'

Footballguys view: Forte should bounce back with the Bears receivers getting healthier and a potentially easier matchup in the trenches against the Packers defense.

Eagles | Jordan Matthews probable    Fri Sep 26, 12:14 PM

Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (oblique) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 26, and is probable for Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Footballguys view: Matthews broke out with two touchdowns last week, and he's playing a 49ers defense that has had numerous lapses this year. He's an excellent upside flex/Wr3 play.

Eagles | Friday injury report    Fri Sep 26, 12:09 PM

Philadelphia Eagles C Jason Kelce (hernia) and LB Mychal Kendricks (calf) have been ruled out for Week 4 against the San Francisco 49ers. WR Josh Huff (shoulder) is questionable, while DE Brandon Bair (foot), CB Brandon Boykin (hip), TE James Casey (knee), DE Fletcher Cox (back), WR Brad Smith (groin), OT Matt Tobin (ankle), CB Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) and S Earl Wolff (knee) are probable. Kelce and Kendricks did not practice Friday, Sept. 26, while the others practiced in full.

Giants | Eli Manning comfortable in offense    Fri Sep 26, 12:00 PM

New York Giants QB Eli Manning has become comfortable in the new offense, and he has worked efficiently in the no-huddle. In Week 4 against the Washington Redskins Thursday, Sept. 25, Manning was 20-for-27 on throws 10 yards or shorter, and all four of his touchdown passes came on such passes. 'Yes, starting to like the offense,' Manning said. 'It's fun. Each week we have some new things and different plays that will work. I think everybody, offensive linemen, receivers, are starting to feel the tempo of things and see what we can do in this offense. We just have to keep working.' Head coach Tom Coughlin and offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo have successfully tailored their offense to fit their personnel.

Footballguys view: The early season struggles of the Giants offense fit in a preseason narrative of the personnel having trouble with the install, but they appear to have put that behind them. The Giants have a somewhat easy schedule against the pass coming up, so Manning could be a surprise QB1 going forward.

Redskins | Trent Williams to have MRI    Fri Sep 26, 11:59 AM

Washington Redskins OT Trent Williams (knee) will undergo an MRI exam on his strained right knee Friday, Sept. 26.

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart practices    Fri Sep 26, 11:57 AM

Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (knee) practiced Friday, Sept. 26, for the first time this week. According to Joe Person, Stewart 'didn't look particularly spry.' Person said he would 'still be surprised' if Stewart plays in Week 4.

Footballguys view: DeAngelo Williams remains a decent flex play as the likely focus of the rushing game against the Ravens this weekend.

Lions | Calvin Johnson returns to practice    Fri Sep 26, 11:22 AM

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Sept. 26.

Footballguys view: Johnson gave us a surprise scratch last year and he also wore down for the fantasy playoffs, so we have to take these injury situations seriously instead of brushing them off. For now it looks like this is truly of the "minor, nothing to worry about" variety.

Jets | Eric Decker planning to play    Fri Sep 26, 10:31 AM

New York Jets WR Eric Decker (hamstring) is planning on playing Sunday, Sept. 28, in Week 4. He expects to practice Friday, Sept. 26.

Footballguys view: Decker had to tap out early in Monday night's game, so he comes with a lot of risk this week. The matchup against the Lions isn't great, either. If Decker puts in a full practice, he might be suitable as a boom/bust WR3/Flex in a week with six teams on bye.

Falcons | Roddy White will start    Fri Sep 26, 09:36 AM

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (hamstring) will start the Week 4 game Sunday, Sept. 28, according to head coach Mike Smith.

Footballguys view: White has had extended rest and should be a safe play against the Vikings on Sunday. If he suffers a re-injury or otherwise looks slowed down, we'll have to increase the intensity of the "Roddy White impending decline watch".

Cowboys | Henry Melton likely to sit    Fri Sep 26, 09:32 AM

Dallas Cowboys DT Henry Melton (hamstring) is expected to miss Week 4 with a hamstring injury.

Footballguys view: The Cowboys have mostly struggled in coverage, giving up over 300 yards passing to Austin Davis last week, so the loss of their best pass-rushing interior defensive lineman does not bode well going into a matchup against Drew Brees.

Giants | Andre Williams solid in blowout    Fri Sep 26, 12:44 AM

New York Giants RB Andre Williams had 15 carries for a team-high 66 yards and a score Thursday, Sept. 25.

Footballguys view: The team gave starter Rashad Jennings a heavy workload in Week 3, and they didn't want to wear him out with another big load in Week 4. That opened the door for Williams....that, and the fact the Giants won in a blowout.

Redskins | Kirk Cousins throws four picks    Fri Sep 26, 12:38 AM

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completed 19 of his 33 pass attempts for 257 yards and had one touchdown and four interceptions Thursday, Sept. 25. He also lost a fumble.

Footballguys view: It was not a good night for Cousins, and so much for those speculating that he's a better fit for the Jay Gruden offense. Robert Griffin III is still at least a few weeks away from returning, but he may now come back to his starting role. If Cousins continues to struggle, then there is no QB controversy in Washington.
