Ravens | Torrey Smith, Joe Flacco not clicking Mon Oct 27, 02:57 PM
Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith has been the intended target for five of QB Joe Flacco's seven interceptions this season, which is tied for the most interceptions when targeting a receiver. Smith has also caught only 46.2 percent of the passes thrown to him this season.
|Footballguys view: Smith is running plenty of routes, and the film shows he's getting open. Flacco and Smith have been out of sync most weeks. Drop expectations for both until we see more consistency from week to week.|

Rams | Stedman Bailey expected to start Mon Oct 27, 02:56 PM
St. Louis Rams WR Stedman Bailey is expected to join the starting lineup with WR Brian Quick (shoulder) out for the season.
|Footballguys view: Bailey has good downfield speed, and he can be a steady target for QB Austin Davis. He's taking over for Quick, but we're not expecting similar fantasy production.|

Chiefs | Alex Smith expected to play Mon Oct 27, 02:39 PM
Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 9 even with a sprained throwing shoulder.
|Footballguys view: The Chiefs take on the hapless Jets in Week 9. Smith could have his arm in a sling and still throw for 250 yards. Okay, maybe it's not that bad, but the Jets secondary is not going to put up much of a fight.|

Bears | Lamarr Houston out for season Mon Oct 27, 01:35 PM
Chicago Bears DE Lamarr Houston (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 8 and will miss the rest of the season.
|Footballguys view: Houston suffered the injury celebrating a sack in the blowout loss to the Patriots. He had played in 72 straight games, but now will begin the long process of coming back from this knee injury at age 27. He's got a $6.9 million cap number in 2015, with over $9.9 million in dead money.|

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams expected to play Mon Oct 27, 01:31 PM
Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) is expected to play in Week 9, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
|Footballguys view: Williams may be back, but he'll still be splitting time with Jonathan Stewart. We liked the way Stewart looked in Week 8 against Seattle. Williams is only a flex play (at best) so long as both backs are healthy.|
DeAngelo Williams player page
Rams | Brian Quick done for 2014 Mon Oct 27, 12:51 PM
St. Louis Rams WR Brian Quick (shoulder) is likely out for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff.
|Footballguys view: Quick had looked better this year before this injury. He was finally starting to play up to his potential, but now he'll have to wait for next year. The Rams will move on with guys like Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin. When Quick returns, many things could look different (QB specifically) on the Rams roster.|

Browns | Isaiah Crowell sees little action Mon Oct 27, 11:50 AM
Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell had one rush for one yard in Week 8, while RB Terrance West had seven carries for 11 yards. Beat writer Tony Grossi speculated that West must have had better performances in practice than Crowell in the week leading up to the game.
|Footballguys view: Crowell is incredibly talented, but he's got to take care of the rock and do a better job in practice if he wants to play.|
Rams | Greg Robinson to LT Mon Oct 27, 11:32 AM
St. Louis Rams OG Greg Robinson will shift from left guard to left tackle following the injury to OT Jake Long (knee).
|Footballguys view: Robinson was drafted with the idea of him being the team's left tackle someday. That has to come sooner rather than later due to the injury to Long.|
Saints | Jimmy Graham has short week Mon Oct 27, 11:21 AM
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) said he'll have to 'live in the treatment room' to get ready for the Week 9 game Thursday, Oct. 30. He caught five passes for 59 yards and a touchdown in Week 8.
|Footballguys view: Graham was back--sort of--in Week 8. At least he wasn't blanked against the Packers. Fantasy owners should still see him as a low-end TE1 in Week 9.|

Patriots | Jonas Gray emerges Mon Oct 27, 10:59 AM
New England Patriots RB Jonas Gray rushed 17 times for 86 yards in the Week 8 game Sunday, Oct. 26. Gray ran decisively, which is something the team has seen in the downhill runner since training camp.
|Footballguys view: Oh that tricky Belichick. Shane Vereen had dominated the snap count in Week 7...the team's first game without Stevan Ridley. On Sunday, it was Gray leading the way. The power back has a skill set that most closely resembles Ridley, and he could continue to see a large role going forward...but it's Belichick we're talking about here. We're optimistic but cautious when considering Gray.|

New England Patriots WR Brandon LaFell played in 61 of the 74 offensive snaps in Week 8 Sunday, Oct. 26. He had 11 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown in the game.
|Footballguys view: LaFell has been earning the trust of Tom Brady, and he's getting rewarded with more targets on gameday. Fantasy owners need to keep this in mind when looking at LaFell as a starter. In games the Patriots control, LaFell is worth starting at least as a WR3/flex play with upside.|

Packers | Aaron Rodgers won't miss time Mon Oct 27, 09:10 AM
Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (hamstring) said he won't miss any time due to the hamstring tweak he suffered Sunday, Oct. 26.
|Footballguys view: Great news for the Packers here. Rodgers toughed it out through his hamstring injury on Sunday night. He'll likely be limited during the week of practice so this hamstring injury doesn't linger that much or get aggravated.|

Rams | Jake Long tears ACL again Mon Oct 27, 09:09 AM
Updating previous reports, St. Louis Rams OT Jake Long (knee) tore his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in less than a year.
|Footballguys view: Long has a lot of talent, but man alive does he get banged up frequently--with serious injuries. The Rams will move forward with rookie Greg Robinson at left tackle. Long has a $12.5 million cap hit next year, but only $2.5 million left in dead money.|
Vikings | MIN RBs share workload Mon Oct 27, 08:48 AM
Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon played 43 snaps Sunday, Oct. 26, while RB Matt Asiata played 27. McKinnon accounted for 61 percent of the offensive snaps, while Asiata played 39 percent.
|Footballguys view: It's more of a RBBC than fantasy owners wanted to see. In games that Minnesota is not going to get blown out, this could be the game plan. Adjust your expectations accordingly.|

Jaguars | Blake Bortles leads in pick-6 passes Mon Oct 27, 04:43 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles, who had two passes intercepted and returned for touchdowns Sunday, Oct. 26 against the Miami Dolphins, leads the NFL with four interceptions returned for a TD.

Detroit Lions DT Nick Fairley (knee) suffered a knee injury during the team's 22-21 win over the Atlanta Falcons, and coach Jim Caldwell is not optimistic about his status. 'I'm not quite certain where he is right now,' Caldwell said after the game. 'But obviously, when you're carried off the field, it's not the greatest news. We'll see what the doctors say about him.' 'We're just doing what we try to do as far as our personnel and getting guys up that we felt gave us the best chance to win the game,' Harbaugh said. 'We were jammed up. Eagles | Nick Foles loses in Arizona return Sun Oct 26, 08:51 PM
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles completed 36 of his 62 pass attempts for 411 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals. His 62 pass attempts tied the franchise record set by former QB Randall Cunningham in 1989. Foles is also the first Eagles QB with nine interceptions through seven games since Cunningham, also in 1989.
|Footballguys view: Foles won't throw 62 passes again soon, but the Eagles have become a much more pass heavy than they were last year. He'll have another stiff test against the Texans next week, but the numbers should come.|

Cardinals | Chandler Catanzaro sets NFL record Sun Oct 26, 08:50 PM

Eagles | Jeremy Maclin has giant performance Sun Oct 26, 08:48 PM
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jeremy Maclin posted 12 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 8 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
|Footballguys view: Maclin took a huge hit in this one and returned, fueling the Eagles passing game against the vulnerable Cardinals secondary. Maclin isn't quite a WR1, but he obviously has top five upside in every week he takes the field.|

Eagles | Cody Parkey tied club record Sun Oct 26, 08:47 PM
Philadelphia Eagles PK Cody Parkey booted two field goals (54, 20) with two extra points in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals. He tied a franchise record with his third 50-plus-yard field goal in a single season.Link to story

Green Bay Packers OT T.J. Lang (ankle) left the Week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints in the first quarter due to an ankle injury. OG Lane Taylor replaced him.
Cardinals | Andre Ellington finds end zone Sun Oct 26, 08:45 PM
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington carried 23 times for 71 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, and he added three receptions for 14 yards.
|Footballguys view: Ellington has been doing yeoman's work, grinding out the tough yards for an offensive line that doesn't dominate at the line of scrimmage. He also got the goal line work today, and vulture Stepfan Taylor later left the game. Consider Ellington an RB1 going forward as the lead back on a winning team with a good passing game.|

Cardinals | John Brown posts long score Sun Oct 26, 08:44 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown hauled in five receptions for 119 yards with a 75-yard touchdown in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
|Footballguys view: Brown was able to get behind the defense at a key moment in the game and he converted with the game-winning score and a huge game for anyone who was desperate enough to start him. He has what the heck flex status with Carson Palmer's arm strength back and able to lead Brown for long scores in any given week.|

Cardinals | No statistics for Michael Floyd Sun Oct 26, 08:43 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd was targeted four times in Week 8 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he did not have any receptions or touches.
|Footballguys view: Floyd got banged up during the game and couldn't reel in any of his deep targets on a 300+ yard day for Carson Palmer. Next week against Dallas should be another opportunity for a bigger game against a suspect secondary, but a floor of a zero can be hard to swallow.|
