Daniels is second on the team with 27 catches, 275 yards and three touchdowns. 'He makes catches in traffic,' Flacco said. 'He obviously has held onto the ball a lot of times while getting hit by two guys, even one in the end zone. So, yes, I have a lot of confidence throwing to him.'

New England Patriots LB Jerod Mayo (knee) is out for the year, but his financial status may improve as a result of the injury. A total of $4.5 million of his $6.25 million base salary was guaranteed for injury only, which means he still may collect that money if the Patriots decide to move on.

Cowboys | Tony Romo shines again    Sun Oct 19, 11:17 PM

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo was 17-for-23 for 279 yards and three touchdowns in the Week 7 win over the New York Giants, and two touchdowns went to TE Gavin Escobar. 'I'd have to say that may be (the) best game I've ever seen Tony Romo play,' owner and general manager Jerry Jones said. 'That was an outstanding game. He was pinpointing the ball, making the kind of plays and protecting the ball.' Romo said his surgically repaired back felt fine during the game, and he needed a toradol shot before the game to help with his bruised ribs and sprained ankle.

Jaguars | Denard Robinson comes up big    Sun Oct 19, 11:02 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson ran for a career-high 127 yards with a touchdown in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. 'The last time I carried the ball 20 times I was in college,' Robinson said Sunday, Oct. 19. 'It's a great feeling. We knew it was coming. We've just got to stack them and up and get back to work.'

Footballguys view: Robinson looks like the featured back going forward--even when Toby Gerhart is back and healthy. Fantasy owners need to realize the Jaguars are always going to use some form of RBBC, even if Robinson is their top guy.

Broncos | Blowout ends Peyton's night early    Sun Oct 19, 10:40 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning left the Week 7 game against the San Francisco early in the fourth quarter due to the lopsided score. He led Denver to a 42-10 lead early in the fourth quarter before giving way to QB Brock Osweiler. Manning finished the game 22 of 28 for 318 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.

Footballguys view: Osweiler's appearance is the ultimate rich man/poor man for the Broncos. It's either great (blowout win) or terrible (Manning hurt) when we see the third-year quarterback in the game. Osweiler is only under contract through 2015, while Manning is under contract through 2016. There's a chance we never see Osweiler play meaningful snaps for the Broncos if Manning continues to play at a high level.

Cowboys | Another TD for Terrance Williams    Sun Oct 19, 10:39 PM

Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams had an 18-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of the Week 7 game against the New York Giants. It was his sixth scoring catch, eclipsing his previous best of five in his rookie season last year.

Footballguys view: Williams has six touchdowns, but he also has 1 or 2 catches in five of seven games. He's a risky WR3/Flex with limited upside until you have big play bonuses.

Cowboys | Dez Bryant has big yardage total    Sun Oct 19, 10:38 PM

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant racked up nine receptions for 151 yards in the Week 7 game against the New York Giants. It was the third-most yards of his career. It was also his 12th career 100-yard game to tie for seventh place on the team's all-time list in that category. Six of his catches were good for first downs, tying for the fourth-most in a single game in his career.

Footballguys view: Bryant took over in the second half and could not be effectively covered. He was a tough out after the catch and in general looked like the force that was expected when he went in the first half of most fantasy drafts. He should beat up on a hapless Washington secondary next Monday night.

Cowboys | Gavin Escobar has career day    Sun Oct 19, 10:38 PM

Dallas Cowboys TE Gavin Escobar had career-highs with three receptions, 65 yard and two touchdowns in Week 7 against the New York Giants. It was his first multi-touchdown game.

Footballguys view: Escobar has come a long way under the tutelage of new TE coach Mike Pope. He's worth a look against Washington on Monday night this week if you like to stream tight ends.

Packers | James Starks injures ankle    Sun Oct 19, 09:46 PM

Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (ankle) left the Week 7 game against the Carolina Panthers in the third quarter due to an ankle injury and he was unable to return.

Footballguys view: Starks injury might not be that serious if the Packers just removed him to be careful in a blowout. He's rosterable in deep leagues as a potential hit if Eddie Lacy goes down.

Broncos | Peyton Manning sets NFL record    Sun Oct 19, 09:26 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning threw his third touchdown of the first half of Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers to WR Demaryius Thomas in the second quarter. It was the 509th touchdown pass of Manning's career, as he moved into the top spot in NFL history for career touchdown passes.

Footballguys view: Manning is in the greatest ever discussion, and he continues to win fans with his dominant fantasy production.

Cowboys | DeMarco Murray makes NFL history    Sun Oct 19, 09:26 PM

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray is the first played in NFL history with over 100 rushing yards in each of his first seven games to begin a season, surpassing Hall of Fame RB Jim Brown.

Footballguys view: Murray has certainly led most everyone who drafted him to very hot starts in their fantasy leagues. He should benefit from the extra day of rest before Monday night's game against Washington. Murray had to have his ankle re-taped after planting his toe awkwardly and didn't seem as sharp at the end of the game as he was in Week 6.

Bills | Fred Jackson to sit in Week 8    Sun Oct 19, 09:14 PM

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (groin) had an MRI Sunday, Oct. 19, and he will be out at least two weeks due to the groin injury he suffered in the Week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings. The team has a bye in Week 9, so it is possible he returns in Week 10 and misses just one game.

Footballguys view: Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown will split the backfield work in a minus matchup against the Jets next week.

49ers | Aldon Smith could return early    Sun Oct 19, 09:06 PM

Titans | Jake Locker expected back in Week 8    Sun Oct 19, 09:05 PM

Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (hand) is expected to be back in Week 8. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Sunday, Oct. 19, that Locker's hand was still sore this week. QB Charlie Whitehurst started in his absence in Week 7 against the Washington Redskins.

Footballguys view: Locker will face the Texans. He hasn't shown enough this year to merit a pre-emptive pickup, but it could help Justin Hunter.

Redskins | Alfred Morris leaves briefly    Sun Oct 19, 09:03 PM

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris (ankle) left the Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans briefly due to a left ankle injury, but he was able to return and finish the game. Morris carried 18 times for 54 yards, and he did not have a reception.

Footballguys view: Morris has struggled to get on track, in part due to inconsisten quarterback play and a defense that doesn't give him winning game scripts. It's not crazy to bench Morris next week if you have better options.

Redskins | QB decision coming this week    Sun Oct 19, 09:02 PM

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins was benched in favor of QB Colt McCoy in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. After the game, head coach Jay Gruden said Sunday, Oct. 19, that a decision on the starting quarterback for Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys will be made during the week. It's uncertain if QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) is an option.

Footballguys view: No matter who starts, the Cowboys defense is looking like a good pickup for a home Monday night game.

Lions | Matthew Stafford provides late heroics    Sun Oct 19, 07:32 PM

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 27 of 40 pass attempts for 299 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints. Both touchdown strikes came in the final 3:38 of the game, after the Lions had trailed 23-10.

Footballguys view: Stafford had one of his best games of the season without Calvin Johnson. One of the interceptions was a backbreaker in the red zone and it wasn't his fault. He should have another good day in store against the Falcons next week with or without Johnson.

49ers | Vernon Davis active for SNF    Sun Oct 19, 07:31 PM

The Denver Broncos have declared OG Ben Garland, WR Cody Latimer, OT Michael Schofield, DL Mitch Unrein, RB Montee Ball, LB Shaquil Barrett, CB Tony Carter inactive for Week 7.

Lions | Calvin Johnson non-committal about Week 8    Sun Oct 19, 07:20 PM

Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) would not give any indication whether he would play in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons. After the Week 7 game Sunday, Oct. 19, he simply said, 'maybe' as he was asked about his playing status next week.

Footballguys view: The bye is up the next week after the game at Atlanta, and the Lions are winning games with him on the sidelines. One might even say they are maturing as a team. They could be a real handful once Johnson is back on the field.

Lions | Reggie Bush bothered by ankle    Sun Oct 19, 06:55 PM

Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush (ankle) was not benched in the Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints. Bush only played a handful of snaps in the second half in favor of RB Joique Bell because his ankle was bothering him, according to head coach Jim Caldwell.

Footballguys view: Bush might not be right until after the Detroit Week 9 bye. He has been a disappointment and Joique Bell should be the only viable Lions RB to start next week at Atlanta. The matchup is good and on turf, so if Bush has a good week of practice, perhaps he'll make for a good flex play.

Bills | C.J. Spiller to have surgery Monday    Sun Oct 19, 06:52 PM

Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (collarbone) will have surgery Monday, Oct. 20, to repair the broken collarbone he suffered in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. Head coach Doug Marrone said Sunday, Oct. 19, that Spiller will be out 'an undetermined time.'

Footballguys view: Surgery indicates a displaced fracture, which will put Spiller on the long end of broken clavicle return timelines, and possibly jeopardize his season.

Bills | Bryce Brown could be activated    Sun Oct 19, 06:50 PM

Buffalo Bills RB Bryce Brown was inactive for the seventh time this season in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. However, with injuries to RBs Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (collarbone), head coach Doug Marrone said Sunday, Oct. 19, that he would 'have no problem bringing up Bryce.'

Bears | Brandon Marshall unhappy with QB    Sun Oct 19, 06:09 PM

Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall called out QB Jay Cutler in a heated locker room discussion after the team's Week 7 loss against the Miami Dolphins, a source said Sunday, Oct. 19. The source said there 'are some very selfish individuals in the locker room.' But it's not out of the ordinary for Marshall to strongly voice his opinion to Cutler, as the two are close friends off the field. Marshall also reportedly yelled at PK Robbie Gould.

Footballguys view: This is probably something would stand out less if Marshall and Cutler didn't have pre-existing narratives that are continued with this story. It shouldn't affect your view of them heading into a "get well" game against the weak Patriots defense.

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (ankle) left the Week 7 game against the New York Giants briefly due to an ankle ailment. He had his right ankle re-taped, and he was able to return.
