Titans | Marcus Mariota becoming a leader Fri Jun 10, 04:30 PM
Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota appears to have a better grasp of the offense and has been a true leader during offseason workouts, according to DT Jurrell Casey.
|Footballguys view: Mariota should have a better grasp of the offense entering his second season. The team is built around their rushing attack featuring both DeMarco Murray and rookie Derrick Henry, so that should keep things simpler for Mariota when going to the air. We love his dynasty value, but in re-draft leagues we can only recommend Mariota as a low-end QB2. His current ADP is QB16 (10.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Browns | Terrelle Pryor improving Fri Jun 10, 04:00 PM
Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor has made significant improvement at wide receiver this offseason, according to wide receivers coach Al Saunders. Pryor still has some work to do, but the team is optimistic that he can produce at receiver.
|Footballguys view: The Browns have added a ton of WR talent this year, mostly through the draft. Pryor is big and athletic, but those skills alone may not be enough to insure him a spot on the 53-man roster. We'll be monitoring his progress in training camp.|

Browns | Joe Haden making good progress Fri Jun 10, 03:51 PM
Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (ankle) is making good progress in his recovery from offseason ankle surgery, according to secondary coach Louis Cioffi.
|Footballguys view: We'll be happy to see Haden back to full strength for the Browns this year. When healthy, Haden has shutdown corner upside and can be a player opposing QBs have to stay away from. Cioffi said he expects Haden to be ready for the start of the season and believes he can be a Pro Bowl player in 2016.|

Browns | Corey Coleman impressing head coach Fri Jun 10, 03:40 PM
Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman was very impressive during organized team activities and minicamp after working himself into NFL shape, according to head coach Hue Jackson. Jackson said Coleman is a tremendous player but still needs to earn his playing time.
|Footballguys view: Coleman's game is all about speed, speed and more speed. With Travis Benjamin (Chargers) moving on in free agency, the Browns are looking for a WR1 and the rookie Coleman may be that guy. Watch to see if he can continue to impress during training camp and the preseason.|
Titans | Tennessee may use hot hand at RB Fri Jun 10, 03:23 PM
Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie said the amount of carries RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry receive each game may be determined by how they are playing that game.
|Footballguys view: Their 'exotic smashmouth' rushing attack could frustrate fantasy owners in 2016. Murray is the top guy, but Henry is impressive enough as a two-down back to get some work as well. Right now, Murray has an ADP of RB19 (4.09) while Henry is going off the board as RB51 (12.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Texans | Several players miss practice Fri Jun 10, 03:16 PM
Houston Texans TE Ryan Griffin (Achilles'), RB Tyler Ervin (quadriceps), OT Duane Brown (quadriceps), CB Johnathan Joseph (knee) and CB Kevin Johnson (foot, wrist) did not participate in practice Friday, June 10. Griffin is not expected to practice until training camp.
|Footballguys view: In dynasty leagues, we've got a lot of love for Ervin. His speed and big-play ability could come in handy as a running back or return man with the Texans.|

Texans | Whitney Mercilus sits out Fri Jun 10, 03:13 PM
Houston Texans LB Whitney Mercilus (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, June 10.
|Footballguys view: The Texans need to be careful here as hamstring injuries can be tricky to deal with. Mercilus has been increasing his activity over the last week and is not dealing with a serious injury.|

Texans | C.J. Fiedorowicz remains sidelined Fri Jun 10, 03:11 PM
Houston Texans TE C.J. Fiedorowicz (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, June 10, because of a hamstring injury he suffered last week. Fiedorwicz's injury is not considered serious.
|Footballguys view: Fiedorowicz is a big-bodied TE who can be used effectively as a blocker or red-zone threat. He'll compete with Ryan Griffin to be the top TE for the Texans in 2016.|

49ers | Carlos Hyde to be key in passing game Fri Jun 10, 02:35 PM
San Francisco 49ers RB Carlos Hyde is excited that he'll be a focal point in the passing attack in 2016. 'I think it's something that's overlooked, but this year we may get to see it,' Hyde said. 'I like playing receiver. It's another opportunity to get out in space and get the ball in your hands.'
|Footballguys view: We're not thrilled about the 49ers offense, but we will be interested in adding Hyde to our fantasy rosters at the right price. The rest of the offense is filled with question marks, but Hyde could take advantage of rushing lanes (and cutback lanes) in Chip Kelly's system. His current ADP of RB18 (4.07) in 12-team PPR leagues seems about right for what his value could be this season, and there's a chance he could finish the year just inside the top 15 for fantasy RBs.|

Steelers | Javon Hargrave signs rookie deal Fri Jun 10, 02:09 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers DT Javon Hargrave signed his rookie four-year deal Friday, June 10.
|Footballguys view: Hargrave has good hustle from the edge, and the Steelers should be able to take advantage of that. He's not the tallest, measuring in at only 6'1" but at 309 pounds Hargrave can use strength and leverage to get after the quarterback.|
Jaguars | Sen'Derrick Marks takes part in drills Fri Jun 10, 12:35 PM

Eagles | Josh Huff drops the ball Fri Jun 10, 11:26 AM
Philadelphia Eagles WR Josh Huff was listed as one of the disappointments in organized team activities by PhillyVoice.com due to an exorbitant amount of drops.
|Footballguys view: Nobody should be surprised by this. Huff was a Chip Kelly favorite (and he played at Oregon, shocking right?) but he's no lock to make the final roster with the Eagles this year. He'll have to cut down on the drops in training camp and the preseason if he wants to make the team.|

Cardinals | Tyrann Mathieu talks paused Fri Jun 10, 08:24 AM
Arizona Cardinals FS Tyrann Mathieu's contract talks have been put on hold, but that doesn't mean a deal won't be reached before training camp, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. If a deal is reached, it's expected to be worth around $11 million per season, which would make him the highest-paid safety and put him among the highest-paid defensive backs.
|Footballguys view: The Cardinals want to reward Mathieu with a new contract, but they need to be cautious with how the deal is structured due to his injury history. Talks are done right now, but they could strike up again as the regular season draws near.|

Titans | Derrick Henry impressing with hands Fri Jun 10, 02:55 AM
Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry has impressed the team with his hands as a receiver, which head coach Mike Mularkey said makes Henry even more dangerous.
|Footballguys view: Henry had below-average hands on film at Alabama, and we're not sure he's completely turned that around now in a few practices with the Titans. The rookie is a big back who can finish, and he reminds many in the scouting community of former Giants RB Brandon Jacobs. Henry will work in a RBBC with DeMarco Murray this season.|
Broncos | Brandon Marshall talking deal with DEN Fri Jun 10, 02:44 AM
Denver Broncos restricted free-agent LB Brandon M. Marshall is in advanced contract negotiations with the team before his deadline Wednesday, June 15. He has a second-round, $2.553 tender attached to him. If he doesn't sign by Wednesday, Marshall's deal could be reduced to a 10% raise from the $585,000 salary he made last season, although the Broncos would probably re-up him for the $2.553 million.
|Footballguys view: Marshall is taking over at weak-side inside linebacker since Danny Trevathan (Bears) moved on in free agency. We have a feeling the team will be able to get something done with Marshall before next Wednesday's deadline.|

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders talking extension Fri Jun 10, 02:43 AM
Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders received a contract proposal last week from the team, and his agent recently sent back a counter offer.
|Footballguys view: The Broncos seem intent on keeping Sanders around for the foreseeable future. With this QB situation in Denver, Sanders should see his numbers stay around what they were last year. Gone are the days of the Manning pass-happy offense. The Broncos are going to run as much as possible and limit what they do through the air. That makes Sanders more of a WR3 for fantasy owners. His current ADP is WR27 (5.06) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Patriots | Nate Washington still a deep threat Thu Jun 9, 10:17 PM
New England Patriots WR Nate Washington still has the speed to stretch the field, and he could fill New England's need for an outside deep threat.
|Footballguys view: It seems like Washington has been playing for years. Undrafted out of Tiffin in 2005, Washington has now been on four teams during his NFL career. As a part-time player with the Texans last year, Washington was able to snare 47 passes on 94 targets. This year with the Patriots, we think Washington continues as a part-time player but he may only catch around 25 passes. He may have a decent game here or there, but Washington has little fantasy value.|

Browns | Robert Griffin III still developing Thu Jun 9, 10:00 PM
Cleveland Browns QB Robert Griffin III is still mastering the quarterback position, according to head coach Hue Jackson. 'I'm not gonna say he's raw, but he is still developing,' Jackson said. 'And most young quarterbacks are still developing.'
|Footballguys view: Griffin is trying to get his career back on track after things fell apart during his time in Washington. He was injured and battered with Washington, but Griffin is healthy now. With the Browns, Griffin needs to show that he can stay healthy and stand strong with the rush swarming around him.|

Dolphins | Ryan Tannehill stepping up Thu Jun 9, 09:35 PM
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is stepping up as a leader and pushing the team more this season, C Mike Pouncey said.
|Footballguys view: We're excited about the Dolphins passing game with head coach Adam Gase running the show. Tannehill could put up career-best numbers in 2016 and fantasy owners need to take note. He could easily outperform his current ADP of QB21 (13.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Bills | Tyrod Taylor in charge of offense Thu Jun 9, 09:23 PM
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor said he feels more in command of the offense this year and has earned the trust of his teammates with the preparation he puts in.
|Footballguys view: It's Taylor's second year in the offense, so it makes sense that he would be more comfortable. The run-heavy nature of the Bills offense is going to keep the numbers down for Taylor, but his rushing ability helps make him a better fantasy asset. We see him as a QB2 with upside in 2016. Taylor has a current ADP of QB19 (12.02) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Lions | More running for Theo Riddick? Thu Jun 9, 07:58 PM
Detroit Lions RB Theo Riddick could have a bigger role running the ball in 2016, according to offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.
|Footballguys view: We're not down with that. Riddick is a fantastic receiver out of the backfield, but he's not that great as a runner. The team should continue to focus on him as a receiver and let the rushing duties go to guys like Ameer Abdullah and Zach Zenner.|

Browns | Cleveland starter not close to official Thu Jun 9, 07:42 PM
Cleveland Browns QBs Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown and Cody Kessler will be part of an open competition in training camp, according to head coach Hue Jackson. Jackson said he is not even close to naming a starting quarterback at the close of minicamp.
|Footballguys view: The Browns should take their time as they have an important decision here. Griffin has to prove that he can make plays under pressure and stay healthy. Kessler has to show that he can be consistent as a passer. McCown might have the least to show as he's a known quantity as a starter, but he might be the least exciting option. We'll know more about who is emerging in this competition later this year.|

Cowboys | Sean Lee expects to be ready for camp Thu Jun 9, 07:32 PM
Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee (knee) said he would be shocked if he was not ready for the start of training camp. Lee believes he's on pace to be on the field when that time comes.
|Footballguys view: The Cowboys defense will be better with a healthy Lee back on the field. We'll see if he can be ready...then stay healthy for the upcoming season.|

Jets | Geno Smith practiced with top receivers Thu Jun 9, 07:20 PM
New York Jets QB Geno Smith has thrown to Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. and Miami Dolphins WR Jarvis Landry this offseason. Landry said eight or nine players gathered twice a week for workouts in South Florida.
|Footballguys view: Smith is at the top of the depth charts for the Jets...at this time. Ryan Fitzpatrick is still out there, and the team may end up bringing him back after a long and drawn out courtship in free agency. If he's actually the starter, we don't see Smith as anything more than a QB3 for fantasy owners.|

49ers | Colin Kaepernick focused on football Thu Jun 9, 06:52 PM
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick doesn't anticipate any issues between him and the organization this season, even after requesting a trade earlier in the year. 'I'm here, I'm a 49er, I'm excited for this offseason, the work that I can put in this summer to get ready for training camp and to come in and compete,' Kaepernick said. Kaepernick (shoulder, thumb, knee), who had multiple offseason surgeries, also expects to be healthier and bulkier when training camp rolls around.
|Footballguys view: Kaepernick's career has fallen off, and we're not sure he can resurrect it this season with the 49ers. When healthy, Kaepernick will have to beat out Blaine Gabbert for the starting job. On paper, Kaepernick seems like a good fit for the Chip Kelly offense...but we're not overly optimistic about it.|

Patriots | Michael Williams injury update Thu Jun 9, 05:49 PM
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Michael Williams (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in practice Wednesday, June 8. No other ligaments were damaged, according to a source, but he will seek a second opinion to determine how to fix the ACL surgically.
|Footballguys view: We weren't expecting anything from him anyway because if it's not Rob Gronkowski then it will be Martellus Bennett. Gronkowski is a TE1 of course and we think Bennett is a decent TE2.|

Lions | Corey Fuller had surgery Thu Jun 9, 05:37 PM
Detroit Lions WR Corey Fuller (foot) underwent foot surgery Wednesday, June 8, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. Caldwell said he doesn't know how long Fuller will be out. Fuller will compete with WRs Jeremy Kerley, T.J. Jones and Andre Caldwell, among others, for a roster spot.
|Footballguys view: Fuller is in the mix for a reserve WR spot behind starters Golden Tate and Marvin Jones. Behind those two, any WR...even Fuller...can only be considered a WR4/WR5 at best.|

Browns | Cody Kessler contract terms Thu Jun 9, 05:19 PM
Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler's four-year rookie deal is worth $3.4 million. It includes a $660,000 signing bonus and just over $1.1 million in guaranteed money.
|Footballguys view: We believe Robert Griffin III wins this job, but if Kessler does win, we'd avoid him. Though in all honesty we are really only interested in Griffin because of his upside. We are generally avoiding Cleveland's quarterback situation.|
Vikings | Charles Johnson must earn roster spot Thu Jun 9, 04:55 PM
Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson will need to earn his way onto the Vikings' roster this season, in the opinion of Matt Vensel of The Minneapolis Star Tribune. Johnson lost his starting spot to WR Stefon Diggs last season, and now he'll have to compete with rookie WR Laquon Treadwell and WR Cordarrelle Patterson. Johnson needs to prove himself even more after playing in just 23 games the last two seasons combined.
|Footballguys view: Johnson is talented so we don't think he will get the boot but this group and passing offense is a bit shaky so we aren't going to invest heavily in it anyway.|

Rams | Temarrick Hemingway also signs Thu Jun 9, 04:29 PM
Los Angeles Rams TE Temarrick Hemingway signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, June 9. Financial terms were undisclosed.
|Footballguys view: Hemingway is a late round draft pick who won't contribute much. Though the sun also rises for any player who can catch on a Rams team with few playmaking receivers, ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for someone else, not Hemingway. If you rely on him, it could be death in the (Sunday) afternoon.|
Rams | Tyler Higbee inks deal Thu Jun 9, 04:18 PM
Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee signed his four-year rookie contract Thursday, June 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: While he has playmaking ability, Higbee is going to be held back by a run-first offense and a rookie quarterback. He's also not much of a blocker, which could limit his time on the field. He's no more than a low-end TE3 or TE4.|
Rams | Jared Goff officially signs Thu Jun 9, 04:02 PM
Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff officially signed his four-year rookie deal Thursday, June 9, and it'll be worth $27.9 million with an $18.6 million signing bonus. Goff's deal will include a fifth-year option.
|Footballguys view: Goff is the guy in Los Angeles (man that still sounds weird) but he has a steep learning curve, few good receivers and a fantastic running back who will carry the load. At most, consider him a QB3.|
Eagles | Carson Wentz struggles in practice Thu Jun 9, 03:31 PM
Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz struggled during his red zone series in practice Thursday, June 9, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane. Wentz did complete a touchdown pass during the sequence but was also intercepted in his final throw after zeroing in on his target and over clutching. He had a single completion in four pass attempts.
|Footballguys view: It's expected as he is in a brand new offense, with new receivers and he's coming from a far simpler scheme. Wentz might win the starting job, but we still think Sam Bradford is the guy to tap although only as a decent QB3.|
Browns | David Richards cut by Cleveland Thu Jun 9, 03:27 PM
Cleveland Browns WR David Richards was released Thursday, June 9.
|Footballguys view: We'll see a lot of these over the next few months as the Browns have approximately 4,000 bad receivers. If it's not Corey Coleman or Andrew Hawkins, you probably don't need to know their names, though rookies Rashard Higgins and Ricardo Louis are worth keeping an eye on in Dynasty leagues.|
Bears | Chicago signs Dalyn Williams, cuts Matt Blanchard Thu Jun 9, 03:23 PM
Undrafted free-agent QB Dalyn Williams (Dartmouth) signed a contract with the Chicago Bears Thursday, June 9. Terms were undisclosed. In a corresponding move, QB Matt Blanchard was released Thursday.

Browns | Cody Kessler signs rookie deal Thu Jun 9, 02:47 PM
Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler signed his rookie four-year deal Thursday, June 9. Terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: The quarterback job is still open, so Kessler will be able to go straight to minicamp to compete, though we'd guess Robert Griffin III will get first crack. Kessler is a decent quarterback, one who doesn't make a ton of mistakes but doesn't take many risks either. That limits his upside as well as his downside. Add in the shaky nature of the offense in general and even if he wins the job, we wouldn't be anxious to draft him.|
Broncos | C.J. Anderson in top condition Thu Jun 9, 02:25 PM
Denver Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is in the best condition that head coach Gary Kubiak has seen him in, and Anderson has responded to competition. 'He's ready to be an every down back,' Kubiak said.
|Footballguys view: Anderson made his money this offseason, but we aren't worried he will slack off now that he got paid. Unlike last season, it looks like he will hit Week 1 fully healthy and that's great news for his owners and offense. We see him as a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside.|

Bills | Tyrod Taylor continues to impress Thu Jun 9, 01:26 PM
Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor was sharp again in 15-17 mph winds in practice Wednesday, June 8, and he's been more comfortable going through his reads this offseason. Buffalo also ran some read options during organized team activities.
|Footballguys view: We like what we saw from Taylor last year but the bulk of the offense will trend towards running and aside from Sammy Watkins, Taylor doesn't have much to throw to. He's a low-end QB2 or a safe QB3.|

Jaguars | Allen Hurns is allergic to grass Thu Jun 9, 01:19 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns is allergic to grass, which is why he wears long sleeves and tries to cover as much of his body as possible. Hurns said he found out about his grass allergy in high school. Hurns said he doesn't experience breathing problems. His nose doesn't get stuffy or runny either. He has skin breakouts that vary in degrees. Some days they're barely there. Other days he said he has to take a medication after practice or games if it's a severe breakout.
|Footballguys view: Well that's not optimal but as long as he can catch the ball it shouldn't matter. One of two 1,000 yard receivers for Jacksonville, (Allen Robinson was the other) Hurns should pick up right where he left off, and we expect a solid season from him, putting him in the WR3 range this year.|
