The Denver Broncos will not tender an offer to restricted free-agent WR Trindon Holliday, which will make him an unrestricted free agent.

Saints | Could be open to trading Darren Sproles Thu Mar 6, 04:12 PM
The New Orleans Saints could be open to trading RB Darren Sproles, according to league sources.
|Footballguys view: The Saints looked like they made a fundamental change to the ground game, and how they use Sproles in particular. Since he was targeted 135 times in his first year with the Saints, Sproles has seen his targets take a nosedive every year. He still could be an impact player if he ends up with a team intent on using him as the Saints did that first season.|

Saints | Shopping Lance Moore Thu Mar 6, 04:11 PM
The New Orleans Saints are shopping WR Lance Moore to other teams, per league sources.
|Footballguys view: Moore had one very good season in 2012, but otherwise his impact has been very up and down for the Saints. There are multiple teams who could use a role playing receiver, but how much they'll pay New Orleans for him is a big question.|

Jaguars | Could be interested in Michael Vick Thu Mar 6, 04:08 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars could be interested in signing Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Michael Vick.
|Footballguys view: Vick is this year's "gets us though the next year or so" bridge quarterback. He can do just enough to improve your situation short term. But long term, the Jaguars are still in need of a quarterback.|

Saints | Shopping Pierre Thomas Thu Mar 6, 04:04 PM

|Footballguys view: Looks like someone is all in on Mark Ingram - and drafting/signing another running back. It's hard to imagine someone trading for Thomas, so he will probably be cut and catch on elsewhere.|

|Footballguys view: What's the saying about lawyers who take themselves for a client? Beason may not be a fool, but few players seem to do themselves a service by repping themselves. Beason isn't likely to be a red hot property but he should see some interest.|

Vikings | Release Letroy Guion Thu Mar 6, 03:41 PM

Packers | John Kuhn will head to free agency Thu Mar 6, 03:33 PM
Green Bay Packers impending free agent FB John Kuhn will not get a new deal before the beginning of free agency. Kuhn will keep in touch with the team and there is a possibility that he could return.
|Footballguys view: The Packers seem to be making some interesting choices, though if Kuhn was looking for a sizable payday, it wasn't going to happen in Green Bay. A solid blocker who did a lot of off-tackle goal-line diving, Kuhn could end up back in Green Bay as fullbacks aren't exactly hot commodities.|

Lions | Watch Clemson pro day Thu Mar 6, 02:45 PM
Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell was present at the Clemson pro day Thursday, March 6.
|Footballguys view: Sammy Watkins is your big draw here. Could the Lion move up for him? If they have their hearts set on Watkins, they'll have to. Watkins and Johnon would be a wonderful combo for the offense.|
Jets | Watch Clemson pro day Thu Mar 6, 02:43 PM
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan was present at the Clemson pro day Thursday, March 6.
|Footballguys view: Another team looking at Sammy Watkins primarily, but perhaps also at receiver Martavis Bryant, guard Brandon Thomas or cornerback Bashaud Breeland - all of which are currently graded as second or third rounders by CBSSports.com.|
NFL | Tajh Boyd shines at pro day Thu Mar 6, 02:43 PM
Clemson QB Tajh Boyd looked great during his school's pro day Thursday, March 6, while throwing to Clemson WRs Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant. However, neither Boyd nor Watkins ran or worked out.
|Footballguys view: It'd be more of a surprise if he bombed at Pro Day. This is why teams want quarterbacks to throw at the Combine in unfamiliar situations rather than comfortable ones.|
Vikings | Coach wants Matt Cassel back Thu Mar 6, 02:19 PM
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he has talked to QB Matt Cassel and told him he would like to return in 2014.
|Footballguys view: With Christian Ponder as your alternative, that's no shock. On the other hand, Cassel isn't a long term starting caliber quarterback and the Vikings will still need one of those if they are to compete in the NFC North.|

Broncos | Champ Bailey released Thu Mar 6, 01:57 PM
The Denver Broncos officially released CB Champ Bailey Thursday, March 6.
|Footballguys view: Bailey might find more work elsewhere, but even if he does, we're close to the end of a Hall of Fame career. He may have to switch to free safety in 2014.|

Cardinals | Meet with John Carlson Thu Mar 6, 01:53 PM
The Arizona Cardinals met with free agent TE John Carlson (Vikings) Thursday, March 6.

49ers | No talks with Tarell Brown Thu Mar 6, 01:42 PM
Impending unrestricted free agent CB Tarell Brown said nothing is going on between him and the San Francisco 49ers with contract talks. Brown still could return to the team, but will likely test his value on the free agent market.
|Footballguys view: Brown had a good but not great season (ranked 32 by Pro Football Focus) but the free agency class is pretty good so he could get lost in the shuffle.|

Colts | D'Qwell Jackson will start Thu Mar 6, 01:31 PM
The Indianapolis Colts fully expect LB D'Qwell Jackson to start for them next season since impending free-agent LB Pat Angerer isn't coming back. Jackson is viewed as a better 4-3 inside linebacker, but the Colts run a 3-4 defense. However, Jackson played in a 3-4 scheme with the Cleveland Browns last year and had 141 tackles.
|Footballguys view: Jackson should be successful in helping stop the bleeding against the run. He'll need more help though.|

The Atlanta Falcons want DE Osi Umenyiora to take a pay cut. Umenyiora is scheduled to make $3.5 million in 2014.

Texans | Thinking about keeping Matt Schaub Thu Mar 6, 01:11 PM
The Houston Texans are thinking about keeping QB Matt Schaub. It would still be surprising if they did keep him.
|Footballguys view: It's as much about keeping things cloudy as it is a genuine interest in Schaub. If they cut him, it's a clear signal they're going quarterback early in the draft--right now the team is more interested in keeping people guessing. It may also play out that whomever they take needs to sit a year and Schaub is the transition quarterback.|
