Cardinals | Brett Hundley to visit Thu Apr 9, 02:04 PM
UCLA QB Brett Hundley is scheduled to meet with the Arizona Cardinals next week.
|Footballguys view: The Cardinals know they only have a little time left with Carson Palmer and it is unlikely they have the answer for the future on their roster right now--sorry Logan Thomas dynasty owners. Hundley has a lot of work to do as a passer and he pulls the ball down too quickly to run. He is more of a project than some think--but the Cardinals would have time to work with him and try to fashion him into a starter.|
Jets | Brett Hundley worked out Thu Apr 9, 02:02 PM
UCLA QB Brett Hundley recently worked out for the New York Jets, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: If they miss out on Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston, the Jets will continue to look at quarterbacks throughout the draft. The drop off from the first two down to everyone else is sizable though and Hundley has a lot of issues, not the least of which is his struggles to read defenses. He threw a ton of short passes at UCLA and his internal clock seems to be really slow. The Jets (or any team) should not consider him an immediate starter in the NFL.|
Cowboys | Kevin Johnson visiting Thursday Thu Apr 9, 02:01 PM
Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson is meeting with the Dallas Cowboys Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: Johnson needs a little more sand in his pants. Measuring in at 6'0" 180 pounds, he'll need to put on some more muscle in an NFL weight room to help his pro prospects. He's an aggressive player downfield who gets a little "handsy" in coverage.|
Cowboys | Meet with P.J. Williams Thu Apr 9, 02:01 PM
Florida State CB P.J. Williams met with the Dallas Cowboys Tuesday, April 7.
|Footballguys view: Williams is one of the most physically gifted corners in this year's draft class. He played both safety and corner for the Seminoles, and Williams is a position-versatile player with the upside to be a shutdown corner.|

NFL | Marcus Mariota could fall in draft Thu Apr 9, 01:48 PM
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota could fall in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft if he is not selected in the first six picks of the draft, according to an unnamed personnel man.
|Footballguys view: Is it that time of the draft year already? Precipitous fall time? Man, where does the year go? Are his knees skinny too? All kidding aside, some of this isn't far-fetched, as after the New York Jets at No. 6, there is a huge stretch of teams who don't need a quarterback. The rumors the Browns are interested tell us that it's unlikely he drops past 12 though, and it wouldn't shock anyone if Houston looked at him at No. 16. He may drop a little, but we don't see the Aaron Rodgers freefall here. Anything is possible, but just remember that April is a time where misinformation is spread like wildfire by teams looking to create chaos in the draft order. Stay tuned.|
Bengals | Cedric Peerman expected to re-sign Thu Apr 9, 01:40 PM
Free-agent RB Cedric Peerman (Bengals) is expected to re-sign with the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday, April 9, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: With Jeremy Hill, Giovani Bernard and Rex Burkhead in line for carries, Peerman will once again be a special teams force and not much else barring injuries. According to Dehner, Peerman led the Bengals in special teams tackles last season with 15 and nobody else had more than 10.|

Ravens | Jah Reid returning Thu Apr 9, 01:38 PM
Free-agent OT Jah Reid (Ravens) signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens Thursday, April 9, worth $745,000, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Reid never became the starter the Ravens wanted him to be when they traded up to get him in the 2011 draft, but provides solid depth at tackle and guard. He's battled injuries his whole career and there are his veteran minimum contract has playing time clauses, according to Wilson. That doesn't hold a lot of confidence that he will improve his health issues.|
Falcons | Worked out Randy Gregory Thu Apr 9, 01:11 PM
Nebraska DE/LB Randy Gregory recently worked out for the Atlanta Falcons. The workout occurred after the news about Gregory's failed drug test was broken.
|Footballguys view: As the Falcons are moving back to a 3-4 base (they run a hybrid, as does almost the whole league, but it's going to base a 3-4) they could use a tough linebacker with length and speed, who could help against the run. He's raw, but the potential to be a great linebacker or defensive end is there. We'll see if he can kick weed, as Gregory has three known positive tests for marijuana...including his latest hot test which came at the scouting combine earlier this year.|
Steelers | David DeCastro's option picked up Thu Apr 9, 12:51 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers OG David DeCastro's fifth-year option was picked up by the team Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: The team likes consistency on the offensive line and DeCastro was rock solid at right guard last season. A very smart move by the Steelers.|
Falcons | Bud Dupree visiting Thu Apr 9, 12:50 PM
Kentucky LB Bud Dupree is meeting with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: We think 8th overall might be a tad high for Dupree, but he's an explosive, powerful athlete who didn't consistently play to his potential in Kentucky. He could be a great fit in Atlanta's front seven once he improve his pass-rush skills a little.|
Falcons | Meeting with Vic Beasley Thu Apr 9, 12:50 PM
Clemson LB Vic Beasley is meeting with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: The Falcons could use a pass rushing outside linebacker and Beasley is considered one of the top two in this draft. If he is there at No. 8, the Falcons should jump on him.|
Browns | Rob Housler joining Browns Thu Apr 9, 12:29 PM
Free-agent TE Rob Housler (Cardinals) has agreed to terms with the Cleveland Browns on a one-year deal, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Housler caught a combined 84 passes for 871 yards during 2012 and 2013, but was barely used in 2014 by the Arizona Cardinals. If the Browns are looking for a playmaker to replace Jordan Cameron, they might have to keep looking. He has some ability, but little consistency.|

Rams | Kevin White to meet with STL Thu Apr 9, 12:25 PM
West Virginia WR Kevin White is scheduled to meet with the St. Louis Rams before the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: The St. Louis Rams are in need (again) of a top wide receiver (again) and White is a tremendous option for them if he is there with the No. 10 pick overall. White has tremendous talent and went through quite the transformation at West Virginia, going from raw and unsure to a top-flight, confident receiver. He's also strong - 23 reps on the bench at the Combine--so he can help carry a lot of boxes if/when the team moves to Los Angeles.|
Steelers | Marcus Peters visiting Thu Apr 9, 12:25 PM
Washington CB Marcus Peters is meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: A talented cover-corner with prototypical size, Peters has some questions about his maturity and discipline. He's raw and would take some time to hone into a useful NFL weapon.|
Redskins | Marcus Mariota's WSH trip canceled Thu Apr 9, 10:43 AM
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota was slated to meet with the Washington Redskins, but the two sides couldn't work out a time. The trip has been canceled.
|Footballguys view: Don't read too much into this as we all know most of these trips influence draft picks little if any amount. If they want Mariota and he is there at the pick, they'll take him regardless of any visit. Washington is not enamored with Robert Griffin III right now (well, the coaching staff isn't, Dan Snyder might still be) so looking at other options makes sense. We don't think it likely, but it's more than a little possible. Again, whether he makes it in for a visit or not isn't all that notable.|
Buccaneers | Larry Dean signs with Tampa Thu Apr 9, 10:36 AM
Free-agent LB Larry Dean (Bills) signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: Dean is a special teams guy who played under Leslie Frazier in Minnesota a few years back. That's likely all he'll be doing for Frazier in Tampa Bay as well.|
Larry Dean player page
Browns | Cleveland interested in Marcus Mariota Thu Apr 9, 10:25 AM
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota is drawing legit interest from the Cleveland Browns, who are interested in trading their two first-round picks in order to move up and draft him, according to multiple league sources. The Browns have picks No. 12 and No. 19 in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: If you are someone who has followed the Cleveland Browns drafts the last few years, this might make you weep for Marcus Mariota, as this is not a team that has been doing all that well with their first round picks since they drafted Alex Mack in 2009. You also see a team which might not be patient with Mariota, a guy who is not quite ready to start day one. He's got a lot to learn, though he also has tremendous upside and his mobility could be a huge boon even for a team with a returning offensive line which should be pretty good.|
Steelers | Le'Veon Bell suspended three games Thu Apr 9, 09:42 AM
Updating an ongoing story, Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell was suspended three games and fined an additional game check after violating the league's substance abuse policy, according to league sources. He has appealed.
|Footballguys view: We heard a pair of games the other day, but it seems we're in the three game territory now, hurting Bell's draft stock a bit. Unless he appeals (and wins) this ruling could knock him out of the first round in some redraft leagues. However, if he's there in the second (or the late first in a snake-style draft), consider yourself blessed because Bell is otherwise the top pick in a fantasy league. If you can build a team around him top survive those first three weeks you could have a great value in him.|

Jets | Stevan Ridley signs with Jets Thu Apr 9, 09:24 AM
Free-agent RB Stevan Ridley agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Jets Thursday, April 9.
|Footballguys view: It will be interesting to see how they pair him with Chris Ivory. You'd think, given how they wanted to use Chris Johnson as a pass-catcher, that they would want a pass-catching back next to Ivory, but that's not Ridley, who is very similar to Ivory. Coming off an ACL injury, it's no sure thing Ridley will be back to normal, but if he is, this will eat into both his and Ivory's value as they do the same thing and could split carries.|

Lions | Brandon Copeland signs Thu Apr 9, 08:14 AM

Panthers | Charles Tillman to visit Charlotte Thu Apr 9, 01:29 AM

Lions | Looking long term on Haloti Ngata Wed Apr 8, 10:57 PM
Detroit Lions NT Haloti Ngata is entering the final year of his deal, and both he and the Lions have said they would like to work out something long term.
|Footballguys view: The Lions have $17.4 million of their payroll tied up in dead money this year, an amount good for sixth-most in the league. They were prepared to give Ndamukong Suh a deal worth over $100 million. The Lions can take some of the money they were going to spend on Suh and distribute that to other players like Ngata.|

Lions | DeAndre Levy could get new deal Wed Apr 8, 10:57 PM
Detroit Lions LB DeAndre Levy is nearing the end of his rookie contract, and team president Tom Leward mentioned Levy as a possible candidate for an extension. "In the case of DeAndre, we haven't even begun conversations with him, so I wouldn't know where those would take us, and we'll see where it goes, but every circumstance is a little bit different," Lewand said.
|Footballguys view: Levy has flourished as a star outside linebacker over the last two seasons for the Lions. His 151 tackles in 2014 were good for second-best in the league. Levy can get his hands on interceptions and obviously has a nose for the ball. It would be wise for the Lions to wrap him up with a new long-term deal if at all possible.|

Lions | Riley Reiff might be extended Wed Apr 8, 10:56 PM
Detroit Lions OT Riley Reiff is considered part of the team's young nucleus, team president Tom Leward indicated in a town hall meeting last week.
|Footballguys view: Reiff is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and the team holds a fifth-year option. They have not indicated if they intend to pick up before the May deadline. Reiff could be extended.|
Lions | Ziggy Ansah could get new dea Wed Apr 8, 10:55 PM
Detroit Lions DE Ziggy Ansah is nearing the end of his rookie contract, and team president Tom Lewand mentioned Ansah as a possible candidate for an extension.
|Footballguys view: Ansah has compiled 16 sacks over the last two years. If he continues to develop as a pass-rusher on the outside, the team is going to have to reward him with a big pay day in the near future. They could try to extend him now in order to potentially save some money later.|
Ezekiel Ansah player page
Lions | Darius Slay might get extension Wed Apr 8, 10:55 PM
Detroit Lions CB Darius Slay was mentioned by team president Tom Lewand as part of the team's young nucleus, and a potential candidate for a contract extension.
|Footballguys view: A second-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Slay has made massive strides as a pro--especially last season. He was the 19th-best cornerback last year according to Pro Football Focus, and Slay could be in for a large pay increase if he continues to develop.|
Dolphins | Might trade up for Kevin White Wed Apr 8, 10:05 PM
The Miami Dolphins appear to be targeting West Virginia WR Kevin White in the 2015 NFL Draft, and they are reaching out to other clubs to gauge what it might cost to move into the Top 10 this year, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: White is our second-ranked rookie receiver this year behind Amari Cooper (Alabama). He was a one-year wonder for the Mountaineers in 2014, racking up 109 catches, 1,447 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. At 6'3" 210 pounds, White can fly down the field and haul in deep passes. He has the strength to win at the point of the catch and wrestle away passes from smaller defenders. White can get off the line of scrimmage cleanly, and he'll blow the top off press coverage. The Dolphins need a deep target after moving Mike Wallace to the Vikings earlier this year.|
Ravens | Michael Campanaro to see more time? Wed Apr 8, 09:06 PM
Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Campanaro is a player who could see a larger role in the offense in the upcoming season, head coach John Harbaugh indicated Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Campanaro is currently third on the depth chart behind Steve Smith and Marlon Brown. The 2014 seventh-round pick appeared in four games last year, and he hauled in seven catches for 102 yards and one touchdown. The diminutive receiver is tough when running routes over the middle, and he does a good job of smoothly making catches while turning to run after the catch. His fantasy value is low at this time, but he's an interesting name to monitor in deeper leagues if he can further develop his game.|
Ravens | Bigger role for Kamar Aiken? Wed Apr 8, 09:05 PM
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday, April 8, that WR Kamar Aiken is a player who will have a chance to grow into a bigger role in the 2015 season.
|Footballguys view: Aiken has bounced around to four different teams since he came out of Central Florida as an undrafted free agent in 2011. Last season he put up numbers for the first time in his pro career with 24 catches, 267 yards and three receiving touchdowns. He'll compete for playing time behind Steve Smith and Marlon Brown this season, and his playing time will need to be monitored by fantasy owners in deeper leagues. Aiken flashed some talent last year, but we'll have to wait and see if he can make that next step in 2015.|
Raiders | OAK interested in Randy Gregory? Wed Apr 8, 08:01 PM
Former Nebraska LB Randy Gregory could be a draft target of the Oakland Raiders. Gregory is considered a top prospect, but his draft status came into question when he admitted at the NFL combine that he tested positive for marijuana use. Considered one of the best pass-rushers in the draft, Gregory could be a target for the Raiders with the 35th overall pick if he were to fall in the draft. The Raiders could also consider trading down from the No. 4 spot, in order to select Gregory in the No. 10-20 range.
|Footballguys view: We'll see if Gregory falls on draft day because he failed to pass the "idiot test" at the combine. Every player under the sun knows they will be drug tested at the combine, and getting caught (again, third-known positive test) could show signs of a greater problem. Gregory has admitted that kicking weed has been difficult for him during his life, but now he's ready to turn away from the inebriation offered from the cheebah.|
Jets | Stevan Ridley signed one-year deal Wed Apr 8, 07:38 PM
Updating a previous story, New York Jets RB Stevan Ridley signed a one-year deal with the team.
|Footballguys view: Ridley won't be cleared from his knee injury until May. The Jets decided to add Ridley even though he's not at full strength. Chris Ivory is the team's lead back, but Ridley will compete with Bilal Powell for the primary backup job in 2015.|

Dolphins | Wes Welker leaves without deal Wed Apr 8, 07:37 PM
Free-agent WR Wes Welker (Broncos) left his visit with the Miami Dolphins Wednesday, April 8, without a deal.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins are likely just exploring their options at this time. They did the same thing with Greg Jennings last week. We'll see if they make a move for either one in the near future.|

NFL | P.J. Williams pleads not guilty Wed Apr 8, 05:25 PM
Florida State CB P.J. Williams has pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge Friday, April 3. It is reportedly unlikely that Williams' case will be resolved prior to the NFL Draft on April 30.
|Footballguys view: It's no shock that Williams pleaded not guilty. We'll see what the legal process has to say about this alleged DUI. Williams might have the best upside of any corner in this draft class. He began his career in college at free safety, then switched to corner for the Seminoles. He's a scheme-versatile player who should go off the board in the second round of the draft--even with this legal problem lingering.|
Raiders | Sign exclusive rights free agents Wed Apr 8, 05:19 PM
Oakland Raiders DE Denico Autry, TE Brian Leonhardt, OT Matt McCants, RB Jamize Olawale and DB Neiko Thorpe were all signed as exclusive rights free agents Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Leonhardt is a player we'd like to highlight here for fantasy owners in super deep dynasty leagues. He was signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2013 after playing college football at Bemidji State. Olawale was a converted wide receiver and fullback who the Raiders signed off the Cowboys practice squad in 2012. The former North Texas standout is only a fullback and special teams player with little (almost non-existent) fantasy value.|
Packers | Aaron Adams waived Wed Apr 8, 05:15 PM
Green Bay Packers OT Aaron Adams (undisclosed) was placed on no-recall waivers with a failed physical designation Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Adams was first injured when he tore his ACL during the 2014 training camp, and he spent the entire 2014 season on Injured Reserve. He has been with the Packers since 2013, when he was spent that entire year on the team's Practice Squad.|
Cowboys | Amobi Okoye released Wed Apr 8, 04:48 PM
Dallas Cowboys DT Amobi Okoye was released Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Okoye and the Cowboys gave it a shot, but in the end he just couldn't make it back. Okoye was trying to return from a life-threatening disease that put him in a coma at one point. Okoye joined the Cowboys last May, but he never made it past just being on the roster. He spent the 2014 season on the non-football injury list.|

NFL | Titus Young pleads no contest Wed Apr 8, 04:30 PM
Free-agent WR Titus Young (Lions) pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury in a Los Angeles County courtroom Wednesday, April 8. Young was arrested in July of last year and also faced four misdemeanor counts of battery on school, park or hospital property.
|Footballguys view: He will be sentenced May 5 and is facing up to three years in state prison. The misdemeanor counts are expected to be dismissed at the time of the sentencing.|
Titus Young player page
Bengals | Emmanuel Lamur re-signs Wed Apr 8, 03:36 PM
Cincinnati Bengals LB Emmanuel Lamur officially re-signed Wednesday, April 8, to a one-year, $2.356 million deal.
|Footballguys view: The Bengals tendered him at a second-round level, and that prevented any other team from adding him and surrendering a pick. Lamur didn't grade out positively last year as the Bengals strong-side linebacker. Expect more of the same this season.|
Jets | Leger Douzable re-signing Wed Apr 8, 02:26 PM
Free-agent DE Leger Douzable (Jets) is re-signing an undisclosed deal with the New York Jets Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: The Jets are strong up front on the defensive line. Douzable is just a backup-level player, but a valuable one due to his experience and skill set.|
Leger Douzable player page
Ravens | Dorial Green-Beckham visits with BAL Wed Apr 8, 01:55 PM
Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham has met with Baltimore Ravens, according to general manager Ozzie Newsome.
|Footballguys view: Talent is not a question with Green-Beckham. Based purely on talent alone, Green-Beckham is a top-10 talent. However, off-field problems caused Green-Beckham to get suspended at Missouri and transfer to Oklahoma before declaring to go pro. Think of Green-Beckham the same way you do Josh Gordon (Browns). The talent is off the charts, but Green-Beckham will need to show maturity and focus if he's going to consistently play up to his potential as a pro.|
Ravens | Meet with Marcus Peters Wed Apr 8, 01:54 PM
Washington CB Marcus Peters has met with Baltimore Ravens, according to general manager Ozzie Newsome.
|Footballguys view: Peters has prototypical size for the cornerback position in the pros. However, character concerns could cause his draft stock to fall to the second round. Peters was suspended one game last year by Huskies head coach Chris Petersen for a sideline tantrum that followed personal foul penalty. He was later dismissed from team over multiple run-ins with coaching staff. Maturity problems are his main problem. On the field, Peters plays a lot like Broncos CB Aqib Talib.|
Vikings | DeVante Parker visiting with Vikes Wed Apr 8, 01:45 PM
Louisville WR DeVante Parker is visiting with the Minnesota Vikings Wednesday, April 8, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: We'd be absolutely giddy if Parker winds up with the Vikings. He was a star at Louisville catching passes from Teddy Bridgewater--the current franchise quarterback for the Vikings. Parker has the speed to stretch the field, and he does a good job tracking passes over his shoulder.|
Steelers | Nate Orchard visiting Wednesday Wed Apr 8, 01:29 PM
Utah DE Nate Orchard is meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Orchard lacks multiple moves as a pass-rusher, but he gets off the line of scrimmage in a hurry and he has a quick closing burst to the quarterback. He has a nose for the football, and Orchard does a good job of quickly bringing his man to the ground. Orchard is not a run-stuffer, and he'll struggle to set the edge. However, he's got upside as a pass-rusher in the pros. Orchard should be a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft.|
Vikings | Adrian Peterson unlikely for suspension Wed Apr 8, 01:26 PM
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is 'highly unlikely' to face more suspension from the league when he's finally off the Commissioner's Exempt List, according to a source. Peterson's next concern is clearing the way for his full return to the field this fall. 'Peterson wants to have a completely clean slate by the draft,' NFL Network analyst Ian Rapoport said.
|Footballguys view: We'd be shocked if Peterson was suspended. However, we have no idea where he's going to play at this time. Peterson could just stay with the Vikings, but the relationship has been fractured. He could be on the trade block, but the Vikings would be expecting a king's ransom in return.|
Adrian Peterson player page
Steelers | Meeting with Eli Harold Wed Apr 8, 01:21 PM
Virginia LB Eli Harold is meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, April 8.
|Footballguys view: Harold is one of the best athletes in this draft class. At Virginia, he played both standing up and with his hand in the dirt as a pass-rusher. He's got elite speed off the edge, but Harold will have to prove himself in coverage at the pro level. He should be a late first- or early second-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft.|
Raiders | Breshad Perriman to meet with OAK Wed Apr 8, 01:18 PM
Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman is scheduled to meet with the Oakland Raiders before the 2015 NFL Draft, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: At 6'2" 215 pounds, Perriman is more explosive than other receivers his size. He can get off the line of scrimmage quickly and cleanly, and Perriman does a good job maintaining his speed out of the break. He's raw as a route-runner, but his physical skill set make him an intriguing option for teams in the late first or early second round. The Raiders have a poor group of wide receivers, and adding Perriman would be a boost for the offense. If they pass on Kevin White or Amari Cooper in round one, the Raiders could target Perriman later in the draft.|
Panthers | CAR to meet with Breshad Perriman Wed Apr 8, 01:17 PM
Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman is scheduled to meet with the Carolina Panthers before the 2015 NFL Draft, according to sources.
The Panthers need all the help they can get at wide receiver behind Kelvin Benjamin. Perriman would be a great deep target for Cam Newton.|
Cardinals | Breshad Perriman visiting with Cards Wed Apr 8, 01:15 PM
Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman is scheduled to meet with the Arizona Cardinals before the 2015 NFL Draft, according to sources.
The Cards are a bit jam-packed at wide receiver with Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd, John Brown and Jaron Brown. Perriman is a downfield threat...something Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians can't get enough of.|
