Redskins | Terrelle Pryor to work with Kirk Cousins    Tue Mar 14, 01:07 PM

Washington Redskins WR Terrelle Pryor has made plans to practice with Redskins QB Kirk Cousins and wide receivers in late April, Pryor said during his introductory press conference Monday, March 13.

Footballguys view: Pryor should work diligently to create a strong chemistry with Cousins. In the Washington offense, Pryor has WR1 upside for fantasy owners. You can probably draft him as a WR2 in drafts later this year.

Dolphins | Julius Thomas finally healthy    Tue Mar 14, 12:47 PM

Miami Dolphins TE Julius Thomas is finally healthy after battling back, finger and ankle injuries. 'I don't really have any handicaps, anything that will hold me back,' Thomas said. '... I feel really good. I know that I'll be able to play at the highest level I've played in my career.'

Footballguys view: A healthy Thomas can be an effective Thomas...especially now that he's reunited with Adam Gase. Thomas put up the best numbers of his career working under Gase in the Broncos offense. The veteran tight end should be a big red-zone target for the Dolphins in 2017.

Seahawks | Eddie Lacy is joining Seattle    Tue Mar 14, 12:28 PM

Free-agent RB Eddie Lacy (Packers) will join the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year, $5.55 million deal Tuesday, March 14, according to a source. He will receive $3 million in guaranteed money.

Footballguys view: That's a pretty good deal in a cold RB market. Lacy should be the lead back for the Seahawks if he can get and keep his weight under control. Two years removed from his last 1,000-yard season, Lacy needs to stay healthy and produce. This addition makes Thomas Rawls a backup, while C.J. Prosise maintains his role as a change-of-pace back.

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor has cap numbers of $9.713 million in 2017 and $18.08 million in 2018. His deal will automatically void if he's on the roster the fifth day after the Super Bowl in Feb. 2019. The Bills will then carry $4.2 million in dead money in 2019, the remaining portion of his $7 million signing bonus he received with the restructure. His 2017 base salary drops from $12 million to $7.5 million, and he does not receive a $15.5 million option bonus because the Bills officially declined his option as part of the restructure.   Seahawks | Adrian Peterson leaves Seattle without deal    Tue Mar 14, 12:41 AM

Free-agent RB Adrian Peterson (Vikings) left his visit with the Seattle Seahawks without signing a contract Monday, March 13.   Raiders | Cordarrelle Patterson will sign with Raiders    Mon Mar 13, 11:41 PM

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Cordarrelle Patterson (Vikings) will sign with the Oakland Raiders, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: Patterson needed a change of scenery. He's big, fast and physical but he's never consistently produced as a wide receiver. We'll see how he fits in as a 3rd option in the passing game behind Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree.

Free-agent QB Geno Smith (Jets) is drawing interest from the Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns, in addition to the New York Giants, whom he visited on Saturday, March 11.

Footballguys view: Smith is unlikely to land a starting job, but he could work as veteran depth/backup for any of these teams that are showing interest. Things didn't work out with the Jets, and Smith could benefit from a fresh start.

Broncos | Vance Joseph happy with QB situation    Mon Mar 13, 08:45 PM

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph said he believes the team's quarterback situation is in good shape for the next four or five years with QBs Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch on the roster.

Footballguys view: The Broncos don't seem as intent on adding Tony Romo (Cowboys) as some make them out to be. Stay tuned to this situation. Any open QB competition between Siemian and Lynch won't really take place until August. The winner could have a big impact on the fantasy value of the players on the Broncos offense, especially WRs Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas.

Seahawks | Seattle to meet with Jared Cook    Mon Mar 13, 08:13 PM

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Packers) is scheduled to meet with the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Cook finds himself on the lookout for a new team after things fell apart with the Packers. The Seahawks could add him, and Cook would be used in 2-TE sets with Jimmy Graham.

Eagles | Philly talks with John Ross    Mon Mar 13, 07:00 PM

Washington WR John Ross met with the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend.

Footballguys view: The Eagles didn't get DeSean Jackson (Buccaneers) in free agency, so they could use a player like Ross. He set the new record for 40-yard dashes at the Scouting Combine with a blazing 4.22 second time. Ross is more than just a speed guy and does a good job getting open on underneath routes.

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) will visit the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 16, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks are looking for help in the backfield, and if healthy that's what Charles can provide. He may not be the same back he used to be, but Charles could at least fill a role as a change-of-pace back for a team like Seattle.

Cardinals | Jermaine Gresham contract details    Mon Mar 13, 05:25 PM

Arizona Cardinals TE Jermaine Gresham's four-year deal comes with a $13 million guaranteed at signing, including a $7 million bonus. The $1.25 million left of Gresham's 2018 salary and $2.25 million of his $6.25 million 2019 salary become fully guaranteed if he is still on the active roster by the third day of the 2018 league year.

Bills | Jeremy Butler joining Bills    Mon Mar 13, 04:54 PM

Free-agent WR Jeremy Butler (Chargers) is signing a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills Monday, March 13, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Butler had 31 catches for the Ravens in 2015 but only two for the Chargers last year. He'll compete for a reserve spot on the roster and has little to no fantasy value.

Colts | Indy keeps Robert Turbin    Mon Mar 13, 04:43 PM

Indianapolis Colts RB Robert Turbin re-signed to a two-year, $4.1 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Frank Gore was the 12th-best RB in standard scoring leagues last year mainly due to his eight touchdowns and 1,000 rushing yards. The veteran is due $3.5 million this year with zero dead money remaining on his contract. The Colts keep Turbin so he can continue to give them veteran depth behind Gore. Expect the Colts to add a RB in the draft, but Gore and Turbin should be their top two guys.

Jets | Josh McCown of interest to Jets    Mon Mar 13, 04:37 PM

Free-agent QB Josh McCown (Browns) has been contacted by the New York Jets.

Footballguys view: The Jets could use a bridge QB until they find their next franchise quarterback. McCown could be that guy if they want a veteran to back up a rookie or young passer. He could even start until that guy is ready.

Giants | John Jerry back with Giants    Mon Mar 13, 04:26 PM

Cardinals | Andre Ellington re-signs     Mon Mar 13, 04:12 PM

Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington re-signed to an undisclosed deal Monday, March 13.

Footballguys view: Ellington stays with the Cardinals to continue as a reserve runner behind David Johnson. He's a high-value handcuff if you've got larger rosters in your fantasy league.

Vikings | Minnesota in play for Nickell Robey-Coleman    Mon Mar 13, 04:05 PM

Broncos | DeMarcus Ware retires    Mon Mar 13, 03:55 PM

Denver Broncos DE DeMarcus Ware announced his retirement Monday, March 13.

Footballguys view: We'll see Ware in the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the first ballot he's eligible for. A first-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft, Ware ends his pro career with 138.5 sacks. The Broncos will miss his leadership inside that locker room, and the Cowboys miss a chance on bringing him back.

Steelers | Pittsburgh hosting Justin Hunter    Mon Mar 13, 03:39 PM

Free-agent WR Justin Hunter (Bills) is visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday, March 13.

Footballguys view: Hunter has very good physical skill, but he's failed to play up to his potential in multiple NFL stops. At most, he could be a red-zone option and reserve receiver for a team like the Steelers.

Broncos | Denver has not talked about Tony Romo    Mon Mar 13, 03:31 PM

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo has not been discussed by the Denver Broncos, according to head coach Vance Joseph. General manager John Elway and Joseph have both emphasized that they are comfortable with QBs Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch as their quarterbacks.

Footballguys view: We're fairly certain the Broncos have at least discussed the possibility of adding Romo. In fact, they might be considered the favorite to land the veteran passer when the Cowboys release him. At this time, it doesn't seem like any team is going to trade for Romo.

Browns | Isaiah Crowell being called on    Mon Mar 13, 03:17 PM

Cleveland Browns RB Isaiah Crowell has received trade interest from at least three teams, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler. The Browns placed a second-round tender on their restricted free agent.

Footballguys view: The second-round tender means he won't get signed by another team. However, other teams look to be interested in Crowell. He finished last year as the 14th-best RB in standard scoring leagues by rushing for 952 yards and seven touchdowns.
