Saints | Jimmy Graham open to restrictions    Sat Oct 18, 05:34 PM

New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) said he'd be open to being limited only to red zone situations in Week 7, when asked by a reporter.

Footballguys view: That does hurt his value and there is no way you'll know if it is going to happen before the game. He's a TE1 (if he plays) but this certainly raises some concerns.

Broncos | Juwan Thompson at No. 2 RB    Sat Oct 18, 04:39 PM

Denver Broncos RB Juwan Thompson is slotted behind RB Ronnie Hillman on the depth chart, and he is a versatile back. He never rushed for more than 500 yards in a season in college, but he caught the ball well, blocked well and played special teams. He even started a game at linebacker in college.

Footballguys view: Hillman is the guy to own and a low-end RB2 against the Niners. Thompson would be an interesting guy if he had to step in long term but no more than an RB3/flex unless we get a chance to see something.

Broncos | Montee Ball unlikely to regain role    Sat Oct 18, 04:38 PM

Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball (groin) will have a difficult time regaining the featured-back role this season after his injury. It's beat writer Mike Klis' opinion that Ball never fully recovered from his appendectomy, which could have been a precursor to his groin injury.

Footballguys view: We will see what really happens but it could be that Ball is going to have to earn that job all over again. Ball just didn't look right this season so Klis may be right. Don't give up on him in dynasty, and he's worth the roster spot for redraft unless you're in desperate need of a starter.

Rams | Hot-handed RB will be used in STL    Sat Oct 18, 04:20 PM

St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy may have his workload cut after offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer confirmed the team will use the running back with the hot hand late in the game. 'Early in the game, we try to get guys multiple touches (and) then we try to go with the hot hand late in the game,' Schottenheimer said. 'Most places that I've been that have really good running games, they had the people to spread the ball around. Different backs bring different types of plays.'

Footballguys view: Well that's no good. Bump Stacy to no more than an RB3. He may be the hot hand but there is too much chance Benny Cunningham (or Tre Mason) ends up top dog instead. It might be good to stay away from this unless you're in a tough spot.

Texans | Saturday practice report    Sat Oct 18, 03:55 PM

Houston Texans CB Darryl Morris (ankle) did not practice Saturday, Oct. 18, and has been ruled out for Week 7. LBs Jadeveon Clowney (knee) and Mike Mohamed (calf) were limited and are questionable. OG Brandon Brooks (illness), DE Tim Jamison (groin), LB Brian Cushing (knee), CB Johnathan Joseph (knee), C Chris Myers (non-injury related), OT Derek Newton (elbow), LB Brooks Reed (groin), LB Jeff Tarpinian (knee)and DE J.J.   Texans | Andre Johnson listed as probable    Sat Oct 18, 03:44 PM

Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (ankle) participated fully in practice Saturday, Oct. 18 and is probable for Monday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: Johnson isn't the elite guy he used to be, but he's still a strong option for your fantasy team. He should be all right as a WR2 with upside against the Steelers.

Texans | DeAndre Hopkins probable for Monday    Sat Oct 18, 03:41 PM

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (hand) participated fully in practice Saturday, Oct. 18 and is probable for Monday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: With Andre Johnson practicing full on Saturday, it may lead to a lesser role for Hopkins on Monday night against the Steelers. We like him as a WR3 with upside in Week 7.

Texans | Arian Foster probable    Sat Oct 18, 03:26 PM

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) participated fully in practice Saturday, Oct. 18 and is probable for Monday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: Foster has been outstanding over the last two weeks. He's had over 100-yards rushing in each of the last two games while also scoring four touchdowns. He's a must-start RB1 against the Steelers on Monday night.

Steelers | Saturday practice report    Sat Oct 18, 03:21 PM

LB Ryan Shazier (knee) was limited and is questionable.   Buccaneers | Charles Sims to return soon?    Sat Oct 18, 02:56 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Charles Sims (ankle) could return to practice soon and is eligible to return after the team's game against the Cleveland Browns Sunday. Nov. 2. Sims underwent ankle surgery this offseason and is on the Reserve/Injured list with a designation to return.

Footballguys view: Tampa's run game has been a mess so Sims could get some play when he comes back. He's worth an addition in deeper leagues. We like his all-purpose skill set as Sims is effective as both a runner and receiver out of the backfield.

Panthers | DeAngelo Williams to miss Week 7    Sat Oct 18, 12:48 PM

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 7.

Footballguys view: Not a shock at this point, which means Jonathan Stewart will get the bulk of the carries though he remains not more than an RB3/flex play.

Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin still not cleared    Sat Oct 18, 12:43 PM

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (concussion) still needs to pass one more concussion tests before being cleared to play in Week 7.

Footballguys view: If he plays--and it's still a big if--we see him as a low-end WR3 this week. If he doesn't play, Cotchery gets a little bump into a more solid WR5 but the bulk of targets will go to Greg Olsen who is a top TE1 this week.

Panthers | Adarius Glanton added to roster    Sat Oct 18, 12:41 PM

Browns | Buster Skrine to see time at nickel back    Sat Oct 18, 12:20 PM

Cleveland Browns CB Buster Skrine will line up at nickel back on passing downs because of the injury to CB K'Waun Williams (concussion). CB Justin Gilbert or CB Robert Nelson would line up on the outside when Skrine moves to the slot.

Titans | Brett Brackett joining active roster    Sat Oct 18, 11:57 AM

The Tennessee Titans will sign practice squad TE Brett Brackett to their active roster. The team will also place TE Craig Stevens (quadriceps) on Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: If you're going to have a Tennessee tight end on your roster, it should be Delanie Walker, who we have down as a borderline TE1 this week. Anyone else is just blocking.

  Seahawks | Luke Willson a game-time decision    Sat Oct 18, 11:21 AM

Seattle Seahawks TE Luke Willson (groin) will be a game-time decision for Week 7 after missing practice Thursday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 17, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks are a little thin at tight end since Zach Miller is already out. Wilson isn't really fantasy relevant anyway--the Seahawks use their tight ends as glorified tackles--so whether Wilson plays or not won't impact your lineup.

Seahawks | Two options to start at CB    Sat Oct 18, 11:19 AM

Dolphins | Mike Pouncey could play center    Sat Oct 18, 10:46 AM

Giants | Rashad Jennings to start running    Sat Oct 18, 08:47 AM

New York Giants RB Rashad Jennings (knee) intends to start running next week in a pool and on a machine that will alleviate pressure. Jennings is hoping to return in Week 9.

Footballguys view: Great news for the Giants as the offense was really limited last week without him and might be today. Andre Williams is a solid back but not much of a pass catcher or blocker--whereas Jennings can do both. You should have Jennings back after the team's Week 8 bye. We see Williams as a low-end RB2 with some upside in TD-premium leagues.

Redskins | Will Compton might start again    Sat Oct 18, 12:36 AM

Redskins | Stephen Bowen nearing return    Sat Oct 18, 12:36 AM

Washington Redskins DE Stephen Bowen (knee) increased his reps in practice Friday, Oct. 17, as he tries to build more endurance and test his surgically repaired right knee. However, head coach Jay Gruden did not say whether Bowen will be ready to make his return in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans, or the following week against the Dallas Cowboys.

Rams | Tre Mason makes most of chance    Sat Oct 18, 12:34 AM

St. Louis Rams RB Tre Mason was active last week for the first time all season, and he played nine snaps with six touches. He finished with five carries for 40 yards and a reception for 12 yards. He was active for the first time because RB Chase Reynolds (hip) was inactive due to injury. Mason is expected to join RBs Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham in a running-back-by-committee approach. 'Well, early in the game we try to get guys multiple touches,' offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said Friday, Oct. 17. 'That's part of the deal. Then we try to go with the hot hand late in the game. Most places that I've been that have really good running games, they had the people to spread the ball around.'

Footballguys view: We love what the rookie showed last week....and we want to see more. Here's the problem: offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer says the team will use a 'hot hand' approach at the running back position. That makes Mason (RB4/what the heck flex), Benny Cunningham (RB3/flex) and Zac Stacy (high-end RB3) all risky fantasy plays.

Cardinals | Carson Palmer improving daily    Sat Oct 18, 12:34 AM

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) continues to see improvement with the bruised nerve in his right shoulder, and head coach Bruce Arians said Friday, Oct. 17, that the injury continues to improve daily.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Cardinals here. As you saw last week, the Cardinals offense just looks different (better) with Palmer in the lineup. Fantasy owners can feel more confident about starting Larry Fitzgerald or Michael Floyd with Palmer in the lineup.

Cardinals | John Carlson back to 100 percent    Fri Oct 17, 11:40 PM

Arizona Cardinals TE John Carlson (knee) is almost back to 100 percent after suffering a knee injury in the Week 6 game. Head coach Bruce Arians said Friday, Oct. 17, that Carlson practiced better than Thursday, Oct. 16, when he returned to the field after missing time Wednesday, Oct. 15.

Footballguys view: Carlson being back to 100 percent would have more fantasy relevance if the Cardinals actually used their tight ends in the passing game.

Cowboys | Bruce Carter aiming for Week 8 return    Fri Oct 17, 11:40 PM

Dallas Cowboys LB Bruce Carter (quadriceps) will miss a third straight game in Week 7 against the New York Giants, but he said Friday, Oct. 17, that he expects to play in Week 8 against the Washington Redskins Monday, Oct. 27. LB Kyle Wilber is expected to make another start in Carter's stead against the Giants.

Jets | Percy Harvin gets fresh slate    Fri Oct 17, 08:12 PM

New York Jets WR Percy Harvin is onto his third NFL team, and he looks for more success than with the Seattle Seahawks. In Minnesota, he averaged 7.3 targets per game with 61.2 receiving yards per game and 34.2 yards per game after the catch (YAC). He ranked sixth in YAC. In Seattle, he managed just 4.5 targets per game, with only 25.0 receiving yards per game, 17.0 yards per catch and he ranked 99th in the league in YAC.

Jacksonville Jaguars RBs Storm Johnson and Denard Robinson will split first- and second-down snaps in the Week 7 game against the Cleveland Browns, while RB Jordan Todman will handle third-down duties with RB Toby Gerhart (foot) ruled out for a second straight game.
