Falcons | Jalen Collins selected 42nd overall Fri May 1, 08:07 PM
Louisiana State CB Jalen Collins was selected 42nd overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: A nice fit for the Atlanta secondary who is a big corner who can match up with the big NFC South receivers.|
Panthers | Devin Funchess to be used at WR Fri May 1, 08:07 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess will be used exclusively at wide receiver, according to general manager Dave Gettleman.
|Footballguys view: Well, he's a decent receiver, but there were other receivers on the board who are probably better fits (Jaelem Strong anyone?). Cam Newton should be a little happier but has to wonder where his protection is.|
Panthers | Devin Funchess selected by Carolina Fri May 1, 07:59 PM
Michigan TE Devin Funchess was selected 41st overall by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: This is a bit of a head-scratcher. The Panthers still have no help on the offensive line, and Funchness is a decent but not fantastic tight end. He won't have an impact immediately for fantasy, but is probably worth a second or third round rookie pick.|
Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham goes to Titans Fri May 1, 07:51 PM
Missouri WR Dorial Green-Beckham was selected 40th overall by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: Well, apparently the Titans didn't learn anything from Kenny Britt. Green-Beckham is a phenomenal talent, but is a train wreck off the field. He'll give Marcus Mariota a great weapon to throw to, assuming he can stay out of trouble. We're dubious about that.|
Jets | Devin Smith selected by Jets Fri May 1, 07:32 PM
Ohio State WR Devin Smith was selected 37th overall by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: The Jets are having a heck of a draft, which makes sense it's not in New York for once. If the Jets pick like this every year, fans would be happy to never see the draft in New York again. Smith is speed personified and can easily take the top off a defense. He's a bit raw but has an incredibly high ceiling. There are no excuses for the Jets quarterbacks, though New York Post writer Bart Hubbuch likened the offense to building a Ferrari with no engine. The Jets need to get improved quarterback play or he will be right.|
Jaguars | T.J. Yeldon selected 36th overall Fri May 1, 07:25 PM
Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon was selected 36th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: The fifth or sixth running back in the draft for a lot of analysts, Yeldon is a smooth athlete, he hesitates at the line at times and isn't a good runner inside. He'll compete with carries with Toby Gerhart and until that situation shakes out. We think he's a late first round rookie pick.|
Giants | Landon Collins selected 33rd overall Fri May 1, 07:12 PM
Alabama SS Landon Collins was selected 33rd overall by the New York Giants in the 2015 NFL Draft Friday, May 1. The Giants traded up with the Tennessee Titans to make the pick.
|Footballguys view: A great move for the Giants who get a hard-hitting aggressive tempo setter for the secondary. The Giants did a good job seeing value drop and jumping on it.|
Titans | Dorial Green-Beckham could be option Fri May 1, 06:57 PM
Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham could be an option for the Tennessee Titans with the 33rd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: It didn't pan out, as it shouldn't have. He's got first round talent, but also far too much baggage. He could slip into the third, though probably not further.|
Chargers | Philip Rivers did not expect trade Fri May 1, 06:21 PM
San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he did not ask for a trade this offseason and did not expect to be traded during the draft. Rivers said he is open to a possible contract extension but is also comfortable with playing out his contract.
|Footballguys view: Whether this is spin or not, Rivers and the Chargers were never parting ways. It's too hard to find a franchise quarterback. With Melvin Gordon to keep defenses honest, this could be a nice rebound season for Rivers and the San Diego offense.|
Philip Rivers player page
Bengals | Eric Ward let go Fri May 1, 06:11 PM
Cincinnati Bengals WR Eric Ward was waived Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: Never much more than a practice squad player, Ward might find a home as a camp body this summer.|
Falcons | Five players waived Fri May 1, 06:09 PM
Atlanta Falcons FS Brandan Bishop, OT Reid Fragel, CB Jordan Mabin, LB Jacques Smith and RB Ronnie Wingo were waived Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: The Falcons are just clearing roster space for incoming rookies and undrafted free agent rookie. None of these players were really likely to make the final roster.|
Colts | Joshua Cribbs released Fri May 1, 06:01 PM
Indianapolis Colts WR Joshua Cribbs was released Friday, May 1.
|Footballguys view: Well, as they drafted Phillip Dorsett on Thursday, this comes as no surprise. The bottom of the depth chart gets pushed. He's not as quick or deadly returning kicks so his value has been reduced quite a bit.|
Josh Cribbs player page
Redskins | Unlikely to take Randy Gregory Fri May 1, 05:44 PM
Nebraska DE/LB Randy Gregory is not expected to be a draft target for the Washington Redskins, in the opinion of John Keim, of ESPN.com.
|Footballguys view: His off-field issues are spooking Washington - which spooks most of us given some of the decisions Washington has made in the past. At the end of the day someone will pull the trigger on a talent like Gregory. It's just a matter of time Friday night.|
NFL | La'el Collins wants to be drafted Friday Fri May 1, 05:43 PM
Louisiana State OT La'el Collins will not sign a contract with a team if he is not selected in the second or third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Collins would re-enter the draft next year if he does not sign a contract.
|Footballguys view: While his situation sucks if he was not involved in the murder of his ex-girlfriend, he's really in no position to make demands. If he pulls this stunt, it will hurt his stock next year as well, book it.|
Cardinals | Michael Floyd may be on trade block Fri May 1, 04:27 PM
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Floyd is a player the Cardinals are willing to discuss in a trade, but no team has contacted them.
|Footballguys view: That's surprising on both ends. With Larry Fitzgerald aging, why trade Floyd? An odd rumor, we'll see what comes of it.|
Michael Floyd player page
Buccaneers | Jameis Winston signs contract Fri May 1, 04:00 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston signed his rookie contract with the Buccaneers Friday, May 1. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: That happened quickly and you have to like it. The sooner he gets practicing, the better. If they can draft some offensive line help Friday night, Winston becomes a high rookie pick in fantasy drafts and could be a decent backup late in redrafts.|
Cowboys | Morris Claiborne's status for camp uncertain Fri May 1, 03:38 PM
Dallas Cowboys CB Morris Claiborne (knees) is making good progress in his recovery from offseason surgery, but his status for the start of training camp is uncertain at this time, according to executive vice president Stephen Jones. Jones said Claiborne is still a part of this team but is not sure if the team will pick up his fifth-year option.
|Footballguys view: The Dallas Cowboys just drafted his replacement, so he'd best get cracking on the rehab. Byron Jones will help the secondary immediately while Claiborne has struggled much of his career thus far.|

Buccaneers | Randy Gregory could be option Fri May 1, 03:06 PM
Nebraska DE/LB Randy Gregory is still on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' draft board. The Buccaneers have the 34th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: Now is the time where his first round talent overshadows his issues off the field but is it enough for them to pull the trigger? There are some teams with serious questions about Gregory but the Bucs are a team with people clamoring for their pick in the second. Could Gregory be a target?|
Titans | Randy Gregory on draft board Fri May 1, 02:58 PM
Nebraska DE/LB Randy Gregory is still on the Tennessee Titans' draft board. The Titans currently hold the 33rd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: Now is the time where his first round talent overshadows his issues off the field. There are some teams with serious questions about him but the Titans have been fielding calls for the pick, could Gregory be the target?|
Buccaneers | Expected to take a OT in second round Fri May 1, 02:40 PM
Oregon OT Jake Fisher and Pittsburgh OT T.J. Clemmings are expected to be targets for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 34th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: This is a team which needs to improve the offensive line for their new quarterback. Fisher and Clemmings are the two best tackles left. Add that up and even with common core math, you can see the answer pretty evenly. We lean towards Clemmings as he could be the best tackle in the draft when all is said and done, but he is more raw so Fisher could just as easily be the pick. Either one is a good way to go.|
Titans | Zach Mettenberger wants to compete Fri May 1, 02:20 PM
Tennessee Titans QB Zach Mettenberger is not looking for a trade but does want the chance to compete with QB Marcus Mariota for the starting quarterback job, according to his agent.
|Footballguys view: Mettenberger knows he's stuck in Tennessee as they don't intend to trade him, so he's putting on a brave face. Mariota won't be sitting unless he is a real mess in training camp, but Mettenberger could make himself attractive to another team down the road with hard work and the right attitude.|
Rams | Todd Gurley may start on PUP list Fri May 1, 02:09 PM
St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) could begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, but he could be ready for the second week of camp, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: After his knee checked out, reports were that he would be ready for Week 1. The team will be cautious with him heading into camp though. The knee isn't what hurts his fantasy value - the poor offensive line is. He might be out of the top five in rookie fantasy drafts and right now appears to be no more than a RB3 for redraft until we see how things shake out.|
Rams | STL talk with Zac Stacy's reps Fri May 1, 02:08 PM
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy's representatives had a productive discussion with the team, but there is no decision on Stacy's future with the team.
|Footballguys view: After Todd Gurley was drafted, Stacy tweeted out 'yikes.' While he quickly deleted the tweet, we understand his concern. He's a third wheel behind Gurley and Tre Mason, at best. He and his agents want him to be traded or released, but there isn't a big market for him.|

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston already causing trouble? Fri May 1, 12:31 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston was encouraged by the team to remove a photo on his Instagram account that showed him in front of a plate of Alaskan king crab legs. Winston had a civil lawsuit against him in college after leaving a grocery store without paying for $34 worth of crab legs and crawfish.
|Footballguys view: This is just about the most ridiculous story ye and really just a good way for people to get 'clicks' the morning of Day 2 of the 2015 NFL Draft. While a low profile might have been a better idea, Winston was clearly having fun and no more. Clearly he has a long road ahead of him in earning the trust of team, media and fans though. If Tampa can get some protection for him on day two, with the weapons he has, Winston could have a big rookie year. He'll go early in rookie drafts and perhaps be a late 'hail mary' option late in redrafts.|
Cowboys | Joseph Randle could face league discipline Fri May 1, 12:26 PM
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle could still face punishment from the league under the terms of personal conduct policy, even though he will not face formal misdemeanor charges following a domestic disturbance.
|Footballguys view: We're thinking the Cownoys might target a running back on day two of the NFL Draft. Darren McFadden is never healthy, so they were probably hoping he and Lance Dunbar could rotate when McFadden ended up hurt. Now it looks like Dunbar is it. If you take McFadden, plan on a handcuff of Dunbar.|
Joseph Randle player page
Broncos | Shane Ray to be ready for camp Fri May 1, 12:21 PM
Denver Broncos DE Shane Ray (toe) said he will 'definitely' be ready for training camp later this summer.
|Footballguys view: The Broncos loved Shane Ray and proved it with a big jump up to grab him. If he can get on the field in time for camp, as this report suggests, he will rotate in with Demarcus Ware and Von Miller. The defense could be very scary in Denver this year.|
Vikings | Adrian Peterson's agent seeks new deal Fri May 1, 11:34 AM
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson may be changing course in his pursuit of a trade as his agent, Ben Dogra, said he'd like the team to sign Peterson to an extension. 'One of the things that I appreciate with the Vikings is their resolve to say 'we're not trading him,'' Dogra told USA TODAY Sports. 'That tells me they value him not only as a football player, but what he's done for the organization. 'I actually, as an agent, not only appreciate it - I accept it. But actions speak louder than words. If that's going to happen, and you want to keep him, then show him a commitment to make him retire as a Viking. And I haven't had that solution.' Peterson has three years and $46 million left on his contract, but none of it is guaranteed.
|Footballguys view: We all knew this was at least part of the plan with the 'no respect' nonsense coming out of Peterson's camp all offseason. The amount of money left on his contract and the amount of years make this request ludicrous though - how much more can you give a 30-year old running back with three years and $46 million left on his contract. Maybe they're trying to force that trade after all. Honestly, Peterson is a RB1 for fantasy regardless of landing spot, so in some ways this is all academic for out purposes. But in the macro, real-world NFL aspect of things, Peterson continues to show a stunning lack of awareness.|

Rams | Todd Gurley to be treated cautiously Fri May 1, 10:25 AM
St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) will not be rushed into action in the 2015 season, according to head coach Jeff Fisher. 'We're not gonna rush it,' Fisher said. 'We may well be a little on the conservative side. But this is the running back of our future. It makes no sense to subject him to or put him in a bad situation sooner than we have to.'
|Footballguys view: Of course the Rams will be careful with him, though he will be ready to go by Week 1. Expect him to trade snaps with Tre Mason, limiting his redraft value to maybe an RB3. Down the road he should be much better than that, but initially, splitting carries and behind a shaky offensive line, that's his ceiling.|
Rams | Zac Stacy wants out Fri May 1, 08:10 AM
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy has asked the team for a trade or to be released after the team selected RB Todd Gurley in the first round of the NFL Draft, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Stacy is going to get his wish granted, but we don't know how many teams will be lined up to add him via trade. He was replaced as the starter last year by Tre Mason, and now with Gurley he will be pushed even further down the depth chart.|

Eagles | Philly made big push for Marcus Mariota Fri May 1, 12:51 AM
The Philadelphia Eagles offered the Tennessee Titans two first-round picks, one third-round pick, DT Fletcher Cox, CB Brandon Boykin, LB Mychal Kendricks and QB Sam Bradford in exchange for the 2nd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Chip Kelly tried as hard as he could, but it's difficult to move up from the 20th spot to 2nd overall. We'll see how Mariota works out with the Titans as he seems to be a bit of an odd fit. In Philadelphia, we would have been much more excited about Mariota's pro prospects.|

Ravens | Breshad Perriman could start as rookie Thu Apr 30, 11:49 PM
Baltimore Ravens WR Breshad Perriman could immediately compete for a starting spot as a rookie.
|Footballguys view: We could see that. Perriman has the deep speed to stretch the field and get on top of the defense. He could easily win the starting job because of his size/speed combination. The Ravens are looking for a starter opposite Steve Smith since losing Torrey Smith (49ers) in free agency.|
Patriots | Malcom Brown selected 32nd overall Thu Apr 30, 11:31 PM
Texas DT Malcom Brown was selected 32nd overall by the New England Patriots in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: A great pick by the Patriots. Brown can replace Vince Wilfork up front on the defensive line. He's a wide-bodied mountain of a man who can stuff the run. Brown can also hustle to get some interior push on opposing quarterbacks.|
Saints | Stephone Anthony selected 31st overall Thu Apr 30, 11:25 PM
Clemson LB Stephone Anthony was selected 31st overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Anthony will bring plenty of speed to the Saints defense. He can play from sideline-to-sideline, and Anthony can cover tight ends over the middle. Anthony has the quick first step and closing burst to be an effective blitzer.|
Packers | Damarious Randall selected 30th overall Thu Apr 30, 11:19 PM
Arizona State S Damarious Randall was selected 30th overall by the Green Bay Packers in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Randall has the mindset of an in-the-box strong safety, and he is a tough player who isn't afraid to mix it up as a run-defender. He has the body of a small free safety or corner which allows him to shine in coverage. Randall will get out of position biting on pump fakes, so he'll need to improve his discipline as a pro.|
Colts | Phillip Dorsett selected 29th overall Thu Apr 30, 11:13 PM
Miami (Fla.) WR Phillip Dorsett was selected 29th overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: These toys around Andrew Luck are awesome, but there were serious holes at other--more important--positions the team could've filled. Dorsett joins a cramped group of wide receivers including T.Y. Hilton, Andre Johnson, Donte Moncrief and Duron Carter. It will be tough for him to make any sort of impact early on.|
Lions | Laken Tomlinson selected 28th overall Thu Apr 30, 11:04 PM
Duke OG Laken Tomlinson was selected 28th overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Tomlinson hadn't allowed a sack over the last two years. He's a strong player at the point of attack, and he can get good push as a run-blocker.|
Cowboys | Byron Jones selected 27th overall Thu Apr 30, 11:00 PM
Connecticut CB Byron Jones was selected 27th overall by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Jones is a big, physical corner who can mix things up at the line of scrimmage. He's an instinctive player with a nose for the ball and a knack for breaking up incoming passes.|
Chargers | Melvin Gordon to be eased in? Thu Apr 30, 10:59 PM
San Diego Chargers RB Melvin Gordon isn't going to be expected to be an every-down back as a rookie, and RB Danny Woodhead and RB Branden Oliver will still have roles.
|Footballguys view: Woodhead should still have a role as a change-of-pace back, but why move up for Gordon in the first round if you're going to ease him in? We think Gordon could lead all rookie rushers this year in terms of rushing yards.|
Danny Woodhead player page
Ravens | Breshad Perriman lands in Baltimore Thu Apr 30, 10:55 PM
Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman was selected 26th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: We like this fit. Perriman is a big receiver who can get off the line quickly. He has the speed to take the top off the defense, and he can tracks passes with ease over his shoulder.|
Panthers | Shaq Thompson selected 25th overall Thu Apr 30, 10:49 PM
Washington LB Shaq Thompson was selected 25th overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: We love this pick..and this fit. Thompson is Kam Chancellor-like because he's a linebacker who can play free safety. The Panthers selected a similar player when they added linebacker Thomas Davis out of Georgia years ago. Davis has become a star with the Panthers, and we could see Thompson following a similar path.|
Dolphins | Future bright for Ryan Tannehill? Thu Apr 30, 10:48 PM
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill is coming off his best season as a pro, and the team has added WR Kenny Stills, WR Greg Jennings, WR DeVante Parker and TE Jordan Cameron in the offseason.
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins have done their best to put quality weapons around Tannehill. They traded away Mike Wallace, and we could see the rookie Parker starting on the outside opposite Jarvis Landry. Now we'll see if Tannehill can take that next step and get Miami into the playoffs.|
Ryan Tannehill player page
Broncos | Denver acquires 23rd overall pick Thu Apr 30, 10:43 PM
The Denver Broncos acquired the 23rd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft from the Detroit Lions in exchange for C Manuel Ramirez, the 28th overall pick, the 143rd overall pick and a 2016 fifth-round pick.
|Footballguys view: Ramirez was an odd fit in the new zone-blocking system, so trading him away is no big deal. The Broncos wanted pass-rusher Shane Ray, and they added him with this move. They had to get in front of Baltimore who could have selected Ray before Denver was on the clock at 28th overall.|
Cardinals | D.J. Humphries selected 24th overall Thu Apr 30, 10:43 PM
Florida OT D.J. Humphries was selected 24th overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: The Cardinals continue to build their offensive line with this pick. Humphries is very athletic and has the footwork to mirror pass-rushers on the outside.|
Lions | Detroit trades down Thu Apr 30, 10:40 PM
The Detroit Lions traded the 23rd overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft to the Denver Broncos for C Manuel Ramirez, the 28th overall pick, the 143rd overall pick and a 2016 fifth-round pick.Link to story
Broncos | Shane Ray selected 23rd overall Thu Apr 30, 10:37 PM
Missouri DE Shane Ray was selected 23rd overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: This is a great pick for the Broncos. Ray gives them a young pass-rusher to groom behind DeMarcus Ware. The Broncos are going to have a much more aggressive defense this year under new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. It wouldn't surprise us to see Ray compile 5-7 sacks this year as a rookie.|
Steelers | Bud Dupree selected 22nd overall Thu Apr 30, 10:31 PM
Kentucky LB Bud Dupree was selected 22nd overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: What a great pick by the Steelers. They get another great pass-rusher here with Dupree. Some felt Dupree could have been a top-10 pick, but he fell to the Steelers at 22. Dupree has a good closing burst to the quarterback, and he can chase from sideline-to-sideline.|
Bengals | Cedric Ogbuehi selected 21st overall Thu Apr 30, 10:26 PM
Texas A and M OT Cedric Ogbuehi was selected 21st overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: An interesting pick here. Ogbuehi tore his ACL in the Aggies bowl game earlier this year, and he may not be ready at the beginning of the regular season. When healthy, Ogbuehi is an athletic player on the outside with the potential to become a decent right tackle.|
Bears | Chicago committed to Jay Cutler Thu Apr 30, 10:21 PM
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler has the support of the organization, general manager Ryan Pace said Thursday, April 30, and the team is excited about adding WR Kevin White as another weapon for Cutler.
|Footballguys view: They're committed to him because they have to be. The Bears were reportedly trying to trade Cutler, but no team wanted to bite. Now, they have to use him one more year and see if he takes well to the new coaching staff. At the end of the day, we still think this is Cutler's last year with the Bears.|
Eagles | Nelson Agholor goes to Philly Thu Apr 30, 10:20 PM
Southern California WR Nelson Agholor was selected 20th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Agholor is more quick than fast, but he's a good route-runner who can make plays over the middle of the defense. Since the Eagles picked him up, fantasy owners need to keep a close eye on him in this explosive offense.|
Browns | Cameron Erving selected 19th overall Thu Apr 30, 10:14 PM
Florida State C Cameron Erving was selected 19th overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft Thursday, April 30.
|Footballguys view: Are we expecting Alex Mack to leave soon? Erving will probably start at guard or perhaps right tackle, then kick all the way inside if Mack moves on.|
