Jaguars | Justin Blackmon likely done in JAX Fri Apr 24, 12:34 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon is likely done with the Jaguars if he's reinstated into the league, in the opinion of beat writer Ryan O'Halloran.
|Footballguys view: Blackmon's talent has been completely overshadowed by his off-field issues. The Jaguars appear ready to move on from him completely, especially given the rumors of Jacksonville's interest in Amari Cooper. Someone will give him a chance elsewhere if he is released, but it's time for the Jags to move on.|

Jaguars | Amari Cooper may land with JAX Fri Apr 24, 11:50 AM
Alabama WR Amari Cooper is a possibility for Jacksonville Jaguars with the third pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, according to beat writer Ryan O'Halloran.
|Footballguys view: While the Jaguars added one weapon in the person of Julius Thomas, quarterback Blake Bortles needs more help. Of course, they were pleased with Allen Robinson last season and have high expectations for Marquise Lee (assuming he remains healthy). Still, Cooper would be a huge step up for a team still trying to overcome a now-disastrous Justin Blackmon pick from 2012.|
Lions | Stephen Tulloch ready Fri Apr 24, 10:55 AM
Detroit Lions LB Stephen Tulloch (knee) said he could play Thursday, April 23, if necessary, seven months after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.
|Footballguys view: Expect the Lions to take it easy on Tulloch, regardless of how he feels. We can expect some minor work during OTAs and then they'll ease him in during training camp. One would also assume they will ask him to avoid hurting himself again while celebrating.|

Cardinals | John Brown adding weight Fri Apr 24, 10:45 AM
Arizona Cardinals WR John Brown has added 10 pounds this offseason and is up to 183 pounds. Brown said the long season took a toll on his body, and he wanted to add weight.
|Footballguys view: John Brown emerged as a potential long-term replacement for Larry Fitzgerald, though clearly with less skill. Both players were targeted 103 times last season, with Fitzgerald gaining more total yards (784 to 696) but Brown with a great yards per catch average and more touchdowns (5 to 2). Getting himself into better shape and working on his durability will help Brown increase his numbers, as will the return of Carson Palmer. Brown is a good guy to watch for as a WR3 or WR4 for fantasy owners.|

NFL | T.J. Clemmings wraps up visits Fri Apr 24, 03:21 AM
Pittsburgh OT T.J. Clemmings visited the Chicago Bears, had a private workout with the Carolina Panthers and will work out for the Miami Dolphins.
|Footballguys view: Both the Panthers and the Dolphins need help along the offensive line. Clemmings is a very athletic lineman but also raw, having played his first three seasons at defensive end for Pitt. The sky appears to be the limit for him though, and he will see lots on interest in the late first round.|
Saints | Matt Jones visits Fri Apr 24, 03:07 AM
Florida RB Matt Jones visited the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Jones is likely going to be a late-round pick. He's a downhill runner and does that very well, but that's about all he has in his arsenal. Jones has had fumbling issues, lacks top-end speed and isn't a great weapon in the pass game or in pass protection. Think of him as a poor man's Benjarvus Green-Ellis.|
Falcons | Tevin Coleman visits Fri Apr 24, 03:00 AM
Indiana RB Tevin Coleman visited the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: It's hard to say with confidence that the Atlanta Falcons have their backfield set with Devonta Freeman, Antone Smith, Jerome Smith and Ronnie Wingo. Since that's the case, having Coleman for a visit makes sense. Coleman is an aggressive runner who can catch the ball out of the backfield as well. He has good straight-line speed and is a threat to score from anywhere on the field. His 4.3/4.4 40 time at Indiana's Pro Day could push him up boards, but he could still be there by Atlanta's second round pick.|
Panthers | Benardrick McKinney works out Fri Apr 24, 02:53 AM
Mississippi State LB Benardrick McKinney worked out for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, April 23.
|Footballguys view: McKinney is one of the best inside linebackers in this class. Look for him to come off the board in the late first or early second round. McKinney loves contact, and he can strike fear into opponents. He has good straight-line speed, but McKinney could struggle in coverage at the pro level.|
NFL | Three teams interested in Vince Kowalski Fri Apr 24, 02:48 AM
Villanova OL Vince Kowalski has interest from the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots.
|Footballguys view: Kowalski will likely move inside to guard at the NFL level. He's got a ton of starting experience, and Kowalski is athletic enough to be a "sticky blocker" at the second level.|
Ravens | Kevin Johnson visits Fri Apr 24, 02:23 AM
Wake Forest CB Kevin Johnson visited the Baltimore Ravens and worked out for the team, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Johnson could be a first- or second-round pick in the draft. He lacks ideal weight for the position, but he more than makes up for that with instincts, speed and quickness.|
Dolphins | Miami wants Breshad Perriman, more picks Thu Apr 23, 11:06 PM
Central Florida WR Breshad Perriman is an option for the Miami Dolphins, who are hoping to trade down in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft to land a receiver and recoup some draft assets, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Perriman would make a lot of sense for the Dolphins, even though they added veteran Greg Jennings earlier this week. We love Perriman's size/speed combination. For a big receiver, he can get off the line of scrimmage quickly and cleanly. He is likely to be a late first-round pick.|
Seahawks | Dorial Green-Beckham wanted by Seattle? Thu Apr 23, 10:59 PM
Oklahoma WR Dorial Green-Beckham is an option for the Seattle Seahawks if he is available with the 63rd in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: We would be shocked if Green-Beckham fell that far in the draft. He's a top-10 talent wise, but off-field issues will cause his stock to dip slightly....like end of the first slightly, not end of the second! Anything can happen in the draft, but we don't see a scenario where Green-Beckham is on the board when the Seahawks are up.|
Rams | Andrus Peat won't slip past St. Louis? Thu Apr 23, 10:47 PM
Stanford OT Andrus Peat won't slip past the St. Louis Rams with the No. 12 in the 2015 NFL Draft and could go even earlier, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Peat is arguably the best offensive tackle in this draft class, and he could easily be a top-10 pick. He's got the proper size, hand usage and athleticism to develop into a fine left tackle.|
Giants | Dante Fowler talks with New York Thu Apr 23, 10:22 PM
Florida DE Dante Fowler said he spoke with the New York Giants Thursday, April 23, as part of the pre-draft process.
|Footballguys view: It's a stretch to think that Fowler is going to be on the board when the Giants pick at 9th overall. Fowler is one of the best pass-rushers in this draft class, and he could be a top-5 pick. He's a rare athlete who can turn the corner, bend under the tackle tasked with blocking him, and burst quickly to the quarterback.|
Browns | Cleveland GM talks Marcus Mariota Thu Apr 23, 07:27 PM
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota could be pursued by the Cleveland Browns, according to general manager Ray Farmer. Farmer said it is possible that the Browns could package their No. 12 and No. 19 overall picks to trade up for Mariota. 'We think we know who he is, we think we know what he's capable of, we think we know where he would fit for us assuming that he was with us,' Farmer said.
|Footballguys view: The Browns are too far back at this time to get Mariota as he could go off the board number two overall. We'll see if the team moves up to snare Mariota a year after they spent a first-round pick on QB Johnny Manziel.|
Ravens | Baltimore interested in Duke Johnson? Thu Apr 23, 07:16 PM
Miami (Fla.) RB Duke Johnson could be drawing interest from the Baltimore Ravens.
|Footballguys view: Johnson is maxed out at 205 pounds, but he plays with a lot of speed and quickness. He's a creative runner who can use jump cuts to create his own space, and he has the acceleration to get to top speed in a hurry. We don't feel Johnson can be a lead back given his lack of size and injury history. However, he could work well in a RBBC with Justin Forsett in Baltimore.|
Ravens | Melvin Gordon has visited Ravens Thu Apr 23, 07:07 PM
Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon has had a pre-draft visit with the Baltimore Ravens.
|Footballguys view: The Ravens would fall all over themselves if Gordon falls to them in the draft. Sitting at 26th overall, it would take some doing to see Gordon get to that spot. He's likely to go off the board sooner as he's one of the two (Todd Gurley, Georgia) premiere backs in this draft class.|
Steelers | Le'Veon Bell close to full health Thu Apr 23, 06:31 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell (knee) said his knee is close to being 100% after injuring it five months ago.
|Footballguys view: In the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, Bell hyper-extended his right knee. Bell did not play in the Wild Card Round against the Ravens, and he skipped playing in the Pro Bowl too. He's currently suspended for three games to start the 2015 season, but he's appealing the suspension with the hopes of reducing it to one game. The Steelers will take it easy on him as he comes back.|

Buccaneers | TB interested in Adrian Peterson? Thu Apr 23, 06:22 PM
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson could be of interest to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports.
|Footballguys view: Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, recently posted a picture on social networking that featured him sitting in a chair--Peterson jersey behind him--wearing a Buccaneers hat. Tampa has the first-overall pick in the draft, but we can't imagine them giving that up--even for a talented back like Adrian Peterson. He's reinstated by the league, but where Peterson plays in 2015 is still a mystery.|

Broncos | Kerry Taylor waived Thu Apr 23, 05:38 PM
Denver Broncos WR Kerry Taylor was waived Thursday, April 23.
|Footballguys view: After going undrafted out of Arizona State in 2011, Taylor has bounced around to eight different teams between now and then. He was a longshot to make the Broncos final roster as they're jampacked at the position.|
Kerry Taylor player page
Jets | New York hosts Marcus Mariota Thu Apr 23, 05:25 PM
Oregon QB Marcus Mariota visited the New York Jets April 4. Mariota worked out for the Jets five days prior to that meeting as well.
|Footballguys view: There is word the Jets may try to move up to acquire Mariota. They selected Geno Smith in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft, but they may feel he's not the long-term answer at quarterback. Mariota is athletic and a hard worker, but as a passer he needs polish. He worked out of the shotgun exclusively at Oregon, and he rarely was asked to make stick throws into tight coverage.|
Cowboys | Dallas not pursuing Adrian Peterson? Thu Apr 23, 05:18 PM
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson may not be in the Dallas Cowboys' plans after all, according Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports. Robinson said the Cowboys have not spoken to the Vikings regarding Peterson.
|Footballguys view: It looks like the Cowboys are going to add a feature back through the draft. They'll be in the market for guys like Todd Gurley (Georgia) or Melvin Gordon (Wisconsin) in the first round of the draft. They added Darren McFadden in free agency earlier this year, but he's not the answer as a lead back.|

Ravens | C.J. Mosley to be limited in workouts? Thu Apr 23, 04:34 PM
Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens LB C.J. Mosley (wrist) could be limited in offseason workouts with a wrist injury. 'I'm going to do everything I can. I don't know how much physically I can do. I'm definitely going to be out on the field,' Mosley said.
|Footballguys view: Mosley is a stud linebacker, and the Ravens would be wise to just take it easy on him as he recovers from this injury.|
C.J. Mosley player page
Titans | Kendall Wright staying another year? Thu Apr 23, 04:10 PM
Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright's fifth-year option is expected to be picked up by the team this offseason.
|Footballguys view: As the Titans struggled on offense, Wright's numbers dipped in 2014. We'll see if they can figure out their quarterback problem and start featuring a better passing game. There are rumors swirling they may add Philip Rivers (Chargers) via trade. If that happens, then Wright could put up career-best numbers in 2015. If Zach Mettenberger is their starting quarterback, expect Wright's numbers to stay low.|

Eagles | Sam Bradford contract talks are dormant Thu Apr 23, 04:07 PM
Philadelphia Eagles QB Sam Bradford has reportedly not had meaningful contract talks regarding an extension. Bradford is in the final year of his rookie deal. The quarterback is open to signing an extension if he is not traded.
|Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. We'd be surprised if Bradford is even with the team after the draft. They could move him in order to maneuver in the first round...or they could keep him and start him Week 1. Even if Bradford sticks around, he needs to prove that he can stay healthy before the Eagles (or any team) would be willing to invest in him with a long-term deal.|

Broncos | GM questions Demaryius Thomas' absence Thu Apr 23, 03:21 PM
Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has decided not to participate in offseason workouts because he does not want to suffer an injury, but general manager John Elway does not know why Thomas is sitting out. 'That makes no sense to me, him not getting hurt,' Elway said. 'If he gets hurt here, he's covered. If he gets hurt on his own... I don't understand it all. It makes no sense for him.'
|Footballguys view: Elway seemed to be fired up talking about the absent wide receiver. Thomas had the franchise tag placed on him, and the two sides have until July 15th to work out a new long-term deal. Thomas has not signed his tender, and currently is staying away from team workouts at Dove Valley. We have a feeling Thomas and the Broncos will get something done in the 11th hour of the deadline.|

Ravens | Will Hill signs tender Thu Apr 23, 03:10 PM
Baltimore Ravens restricted free-agent FS Will Hill signed his tender offer Thursday, April 23, according to sources. Hill received a one-year deal worth $1.54 million.
|Footballguys view: When he's not suspended, Hill is one of the better safeties in the league. If he stays out of trouble this year, it could pay off with a big contract in 2016.|
Cardinals | Andre Ellington making progress Thu Apr 23, 02:42 PM
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington's (foot) injured foot is about 95 percent healed, and Ellington has not suffered any setbacks, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
|Footballguys view: Ellington toughed it out through injury last year as he was not healthy for the entire season. We love his talent and game-breaking ability, but Ellington is not built to be a full-time back. Expect the Cardinals to add another back (potentially a RB1) with a premium pick in the draft.|
Andre Ellington player page
NFL | Shane Ray meets with specialist Thu Apr 23, 02:32 PM
Missouri DE Shane Ray (foot) met with a specialist Thursday, April 23, and was told he does not need surgery on his foot, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Good news for Ray here, and this could lock him in as a top-10 pick. He is relentless when pursuing the quarterback. Ray has a non-stop motor and good bend and burst around the edge as a pass-rusher. He can also use a secondary (inside) move to slice his way to the passer. Ray can also work in a 3-4 or 4-3 defense.|
Jaguars | Maurice Jones-Drew retiring with team Thu Apr 23, 02:18 PM
Free-agent RB Maurice Jones-Drew (Raiders) will sign a one-day deal to retire as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars next Tuesday, April 28. He played nine seasons and rushed for 8,167 yards and 68 touchdowns.
|Footballguys view: Jones-Drew was one of our favorite players to watch. Some said he was too small and too slow when he came out of UCLA, and he proved the doubters wrong by becoming one of the best backs in the league during his peak. Jones-Drew was also one of the first players who embraced fantasy football players.|
Maurice Jones-Drew player page
Steelers | Landon Collins visits Thu Apr 23, 02:13 PM
Alabama SS Landon Collins met with the Pittsburgh Steelers Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Collins is an in-the-box safety who can intimidate opponents and shut down the run game. He has the speed to play sideline-to-sideline, and he arrives at the ball-carrier with natural violence. Collins should be a first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. The Steelers are looking for safety help with legendary Troy Polamalu retiring.|
Ravens | Phillip Dorsett visits Thu Apr 23, 02:09 PM
Miami (Fla.) WR Phillip Dorsett met with the Baltimore Ravens Wednesday, April 22, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Dorsett can flat out fly and take the top off the defense. Since 2012, the Hurricanes prospect has averaged over 25 yards per catch. He can work outside as a deep threat, but Dorsett also has the run-after-the-catch ability to shine as a slot receiver on underneath routes. He should be a first- or second-round pick in the draft. The Ravens are looking for help at wide receiver since losing Torrey Smith (49ers) in free agency.|
Giants | Victor Cruz thinks he will play Week 1 Thu Apr 23, 02:08 PM
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee) said he believes that he will be ready to play in the season opener next season and play like he did before he suffered the injury.
|Footballguys view: We can't wait to see Cruz back on the field. However, the Giants will be wisely cautious as he returns from this major knee injury. We'll know more about his status when we get closer to training camp. We think Cruz could begin training camp on the PUP list.|

Bears | Bear Pascoe signed Thu Apr 23, 12:51 PM
Free-agent TE Bear Pascoe (Falcons) signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears Thursday, April 23. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Pascoe, a former high school rodeo champion, is country strong and a nasty blocker. He's not going to do much as a receiver, but he can help blast open holes for the Bears' rushing attack as a part-time player.|
Bear Pascoe player page
Dolphins | Mike Johnson visits Miami Thu Apr 23, 08:48 AM
Free-agent OG Mike P. Johnson (Falcons) visited the Miami Dolphins this week.
|Footballguys view: A third-round pick by the Falcons in 2010, Johnson's pro career has been derailed by injuries. Leg and foot problems have kept him out of action for the better part of two years. If healthy, he'd give the Dolphins some competition inside at guard.|
Saints | John Miller visits Thu Apr 23, 03:05 AM
Louisville G John Miller visited the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Miller is a power player inside at guard. He has strong hands and can absolutely crush and bury opponents as a run-blocker. Miller is not fleet afoot, and he'll struggle to get to opponents at the second level. Look for him to be a third- or fourth-round pick.|
Eagles | Alani Fua visits Thu Apr 23, 02:58 AM
BYU OLB Alani Fua visited the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Fua is a versatile player who can rush the passer from multiple spots on defense. He lacks power to be a consistent run-stuffer, but he can cover better than a lot of other linebackers in this class. He could be a fifth-round pick in the draft.|
Dolphins | Breshad Perriman visits Thu Apr 23, 02:54 AM
UCF WR Breshad Perriman visited the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Even though Greg Jennings signed with the Dolphins on Wednesday, they could still be looking at a wide receiver with a premium pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Perriman plays with a great blend of size and speed. He eats cushion quickly and can take the top off the defense. He's raw as a route-runner, but Perriman is talented enough of a prospect to be a first-round pick.|
Redskins | Stefon Diggs visits Thu Apr 23, 02:41 AM
Maryland WR Stefon Diggs was one of the prospects taking part in the Washington Redskins' local pro day.
|Footballguys view: Diggs learned a lot under Terrapins wide receiver coach (and former NFL standout) Keenan McCardell. While he lacks the size or strength to work outside and beat press coverage, Diggs can be dangerous as a slot receiver on underneath routes. He'll be a third- or fourth-round pick.|
Redskins | Tray Walker visits Thu Apr 23, 02:34 AM
Texas Southern CB Tray Walker visited the Washington Redskins on Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Walker has great size at 6'2" 180 pounds. He can press wide receivers on the line of scrimmage, but he does struggle to turn his hips in coverage on downfield routes. He's a late-round pick with the ability to move to free safety.|
Eagles | No contract talks with Sam Bradford Thu Apr 23, 01:52 AM
The Philadelphia Eagles and QB Sam Bradford have yet to make significant progress on a contract extension sparking speculation the quarterback might be traded again, although head coach Chip Kelly insists Bradford won't be used as a bargaining chip.
|Footballguys view: We're not even sure that Bradford is going to be with the Eagles after the draft. Even if he's the Week 1 starter for the Eagles, there's no telling whether or not he can stay healthy. His college and pro careers have both been marred by numerous injuries. Bradford isn't worth investing in long term unless he can prove that staying healthy is no longer a problem.|

Broncos | Louis Vasquez back to RG Thu Apr 23, 01:51 AM
Denver Broncos OG Louis Vasquez will move back from right tackle to right guard for the 2015 season, and he is very happy. 'My mentality is I'm a guard,' Vasquez said Wednesday, April 22. 'I would love to stay inside the trenches. That's how my mentality is. I'm a big, strong guy. I like to get physical. Being out on the outside, it's more finesse. Guys want to rush the passers and that's not my forte.'
|Footballguys view: Vasquez showed he was a team-first guy last year by moving outside to right tackle. He was okay at that spot..and the best the team could muster at the position in 2014. However, at right guard Vasquez is--and has been--and All-Pro. Expect him to regain that status moving back inside for the 2015 season.|
Saints | Brandin Cooks spent time with QB Wed Apr 22, 11:32 PM
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks (knee) spent time training together with QB Drew Brees during the offseason in San Diego. 'Man, I love everything about him, his makeup, and then just his physical ability. I mean he's got all kinds of talent,' Brees said.
|Footballguys view: We're excited about Cooks in his second season. The team is going to rely on him more than last year when his rookie season was cut short by injury. Cooks is an explosive playmaker and our leading candidate to have a breakout year from the group of second-year receivers.|

Dolphins | Wes Welker even less likely for MIA Wed Apr 22, 08:58 PM
Free agent WR Wes Welker (Broncos) is considered even less likely to sign with the Miami Dolphins, after Miami reportedly signed WR Greg Jennings to a two-year deal Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Welker just isn't getting much interest on the open market. We could see him wait until after training camp injuries hit before he finds a new team. Welker isn't the player he used to be and concussion problems plagued him during his two-year stint with the Broncos.|
Wes Welker player page
Ravens | Casey Walker signs tender Wed Apr 22, 06:11 PM
Baltimore Ravens DT Casey Walker signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender Wednesday, April 22. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
|Footballguys view: Walker was signed off the Patriots practice squad late last year. The Ravens will have him compete as a rotational player on the defensive line. They'll have a new look up front with Haloti Ngata (Lions) getting traded earlier this offseason.|
Dolphins | Greg Jennings signs with Miami Wed Apr 22, 06:10 PM
Free-agent WR Greg Jennings (Vikings) signed an undisclosed deal with the Miami Dolphins Wednesday, April 22.
|Footballguys view: Jennings should get the second-most amount of snaps after Kenny Stills outside, assuming Jarvis Landry remains primarily a slot receiver. It's not a bad destination considering how much harder it will be for a wide receiver to get work after the draft.|

Chargers | Philip Rivers disgruntled with SD? Wed Apr 22, 05:25 PM
San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers may be losing faith in the organization, according to NFL Network analyst and former Chargers' RB LaDainian Tomlinson. 'The parts around him keep on moving... Philip could be looking at the situation and thinking 'we're not close to winning a championship anytime soon',' Tomlinson said. Rivers, however, has shown up for the start of the offseason program.
|Footballguys view: Rivers certainly won't be closer to a title in Tennessee than he would be in San Diego (or Los Angeles). There's been a lot of murmurs about Rivers being unhappy, but that tends to happen when a player is seeking a new contract.|
