Vikings | Jerick McKinnon shows big-play ability Tue Oct 21, 11:48 PM
Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon has rushed for at least five yards on 22 of his 60 carries this season, amassing 245 yards on those 22 attempts.
|Footballguys view: McKinnon is a RB2 with upside this week for fantasy owners. He's explosive and can eat up chunks of yards quickly every time he touches the ball.|
Lions | Golden Tate making consistent impact Tue Oct 21, 11:28 PM
Detroit Lions WR Golden Tate is one of just two receivers to have at least five receptions in each of the first seven games of the season.
|Footballguys view: Tate has been amazing for the Lions this year. He was certainly one of the most underrated free agent additions this offseason. Tate has especially shined with the team missing Calvin Johnson in the lineup.|

Colts | Dwayne Allen becoming a red zone threat Tue Oct 21, 10:18 PM
Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen said he was not expecting to be as involved in the red zone as he has been this season. He has five touchdowns in seven games, and three of those scores have come on plays in the red zone.
|Footballguys view: Allen's prime directive is to score touchdowns and help your fantasy team. We're happy the Colts offense is flowing through Andrew Luck, and fantasy owners are ecstatic about this passing game as well.|

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (shoulder) threw at team headquarters Tuesday, Oct. 21, and is 'real close' to 100% percent, according to head coach Bruce Arians.
|Footballguys view: That's good news for the Cardinals. The team just operates better when Palmer is under center. Guys like Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd are better fantasy plays when Palmer is starting.|

Broncos | Week 11 Return for Montee Ball? Tue Oct 21, 08:45 PM
In a recent interview on ESPN Denver radio, Mike Klis of the Denver Post speculated that Montee Ball might be able to return by the Week 11 game against the St. Louis Rams. At this time, it seems like Ball is still a couple of weeks away from returning from the groin injury he suffered in the Week 5 game against the Cardinals.
|Footballguys view: Ball might return to a much different role. Ronnie Hillman has been productive as the team's starter over the last two weeks. If Hillman continues to produce (and hang onto the rock), we could see Ball as a backup. Right now, Juwan Thompson serves as the primary backup behind Hillman.|

Seahawks | Paul Richardson earns targets Tue Oct 21, 08:22 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Paul Richardson caught four passes on five targets for 33 yards in Week 7. Richardson was targeted just once in the team's first five games.
|Footballguys view: Richardson is an exciting rookie for fantasy owners to keep tabs on. He has a skill set reminiscent of DeSean Jackson because his speed can get on top of the defense in the blink of an eye. We'll see if he can continue to earn a larger role going forward.|

Patriots | Chandler Jones out a while Tue Oct 21, 07:21 PM
New England Patriots DE Chandler Jones (hip) did not practice Tuesday, Oct. 21 with a hip injury, according to a source.
|Footballguys view: Bad news for the Patriots pass rush here. They rank 10th in the NFL with 18 sacks generated so far this year, but Jones has been putting up the best sack totals of anyone on the team. Jones is expected to miss a month or so.|

|Footballguys view: It wasn't that long ago (2012) that Worthy was a second-round pick by the Green Bay Packers. He was traded to the Patriots earlier this year, but they released him in August. The Chiefs picked him up at the beginning of September.|

Broncos | Montee Ball out again Tuesday Tue Oct 21, 05:31 PM
Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball (groin) was not at practice for the second straight day Tuesday, Oct. 21.
|Footballguys view: There are some close to the team speculating the Broncos could be targeting a Week 11 return for Ball. That week, the Broncos travel to St. Louis to play the Rams. In the meantime, Ronnie Hillman is the lead back for Denver. We can recommend him as a high upside RB2 the way things have been going over the last two weeks.|

Rams | Sign two to practice squad Tue Oct 21, 05:14 PM
The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent WRs Kadron Boone (Eagles) and Devon Wylie (49ers) to their practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 21.
|Footballguys view: Wylie was once an interesting prospect in dynasty leagues. He's been unable to stick on more than one roster despite having incredible natural ability. Wylie is quick, fast and agile--but he struggles staying healthy and with consistency. We're no longer interested in him...even in the deepest of deep dynasty leagues.|

Lions | Calvin Johnson must be 100 percent Tue Oct 21, 05:11 PM
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) will only return in Week 8 against the Atlanta Falcons if he's 100 percent healthy, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. 'It's not going to be a thing of degrees,' Caldwell said. 'When they say he's cleared, he's ready to go and he's feeling great, when they doctors say, OK, that's when it's going to happen. It's not going to be a whole lot of in between.' Johnson has missed six straight practices.
|Footballguys view: We're okay with the team holding out Johnson until he's fully ready to return. We saw him struggle with this ankle injury for a couple of weeks, and he just didn't look the same. Keep watching for Johnson's practice status each day.|

Titans | Akeem Ayers trade update Tue Oct 21, 04:41 PM
Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans LB Akeem Ayers and a seventh-round draft pick were traded to the New England Patriots in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick Tuesday, Oct. 21.
|Footballguys view: A fine move for the Patriots provided that Ayers passes a physical. Ayers just wasn't a good fit for the Ray Horton system in Tennessee, and he was only active for two games this year. In New England, Ayers gives them much-needed depth at the linebacker position.|

Jaguars | Denard Robinson praised by coach Tue Oct 21, 04:13 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Denard Robinson was recently lauded by head coach Gus Bradley. Bradley said Robinson is extremely competitive and the drive to succeed and get better came from within for Robinson.
|Footballguys view: Robinson is the lead back for the Jaguars until further notice. His speed and explosiveness are quite noticeable when he gets to the second level of the defense. We can recommend him as a RB2/flex play in good matchups. Against tougher teams, it's best to consider Robinson more of a flex player for your fantasy team.|

Jaguars | Marcedes Lewis to practice soon? Tue Oct 21, 04:08 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (ankle) is expected to be able to practice next week. Lewis is on the short-term Reserve/Injured list with a high ankle sprain.
|Footballguys view: The Clay Harbor express will be ending soon. If you've picked up Harbor in free agency, you might want to get him in the lineup soon. When Lewis is back, Harbor will be a player you can move on from.|

Jets | Jeremy Kerley's extension official Tue Oct 21, 04:06 PM
New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley officially signed a four-year, $16 million extension Tuesday, Oct. 21. Kerley will receive $5.4 million of guaranteed money. He has 22 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown this year.
|Footballguys view: Kerley was nearing the end of his rookie contract, and now he's locked up through the 2018 season. The Jets just acquired Percy Harvin last week, and they added Eric Decker in free agency earlier this year. Even though the future of their quarterback position is up in the air, the Jets are setting themselves up at wide receiver.|

Jaguars | Toby Gerhart progressing Tue Oct 21, 04:05 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Toby Gerhart is progressing from a foot injury that has caused him to miss the last two games. His status will be updated Wednesday, Oct. 22.
|Footballguys view: Gerhart is progressing, but he's going to come back to a new role with the Jaguars. Denard Robinson has emerged as the featured runner with rookie Storm Johnson working as a part-time player. When healthy, Gerhart should take over for Johnson in that limited role.|

Panthers | Bene Benwikere to return in starting role Tue Oct 21, 04:00 PM
Carolina Panthers CB Bene Benwikere (ankle) will return as the starting nickel cornerback when he's back from his injury, according to head coach Ron Rivera. If Benwikere can't play in Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, then CB James Dockery could get a look in that position.Link to story
Cardinals | Andre Ellington extremely productive Tue Oct 21, 03:58 PM
Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington had 88 yards rushing and 72 yards receiving in Week 7, and only four players in franchise history since 1960 to have more yards from scrimmage than Ellington's 653 through six games. Ellington has also been playing with a partially torn tendon in his foot. Head coach Bruce Arians said Ellington will continue to sit out of practice on Wednesdays.
|Footballguys view: Ellington is one of the most explosive players in the game today. It's wise for the Cardinals to use him as much as possible. However, fantasy owners were upset that Stepfan Taylor (and not Ellington) scored a couple of touchdowns for the Cardinals in Week 7.|
