Saints | Brandon Browner exits Wed Jun 17, 02:25 PM
New Orleans Saints CB Brandon Browner (undisclosed) walked off the field with trainers Wednesday, June 17. It's unknown if he's cramping or injured.
|Footballguys view: Stay tuned here. The Saints have re-worked their defense this offseason, and Browner brings a veteran presence to their defensive backfield.|

Falcons | Carlton Mitchell working out Wed Jun 17, 02:08 PM
Free-agent WR Carlton Mitchell (Buccaneers) has been participating in the Atlanta Falcons' minicamp on a tryout basis.
|Footballguys view: Mitchell was a star in college at USF, but he's not been able to make an impact at the pro level. He hasn't been in the NFL since 2013, but he's spent the last two seasons playing in the CFL.|

Titans | Dorin Dickerson out for season Wed Jun 17, 02:00 PM
Tennessee Titans TE Dorin Dickerson (Achilles') will undergo season-ending surgery in the near future to repair his ruptured Achilles' tendon.
|Footballguys view: A seventh-round pick of the Texans in 2010, the Titans signed Dickerson last year but he was injured in training camp and spent 2014 on Injured Reserve. They re-signed him back in January, but this latest injury could end his pro career.|

Steelers | No date for Le'Veon Bell's appeal Wed Jun 17, 01:54 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le'Veon Bell said he has not had the appeal of his three-game suspension heard at this point and does not know when the appeal will be scheduled.
|Footballguys view: There's no set timetable right now, but Bell's lawyers could be dragging this out so the young running back has more time to prove that he's staying out of trouble. There's a chance his suspension gets reduced from three games to two games instead. Stay tuned...and oh yeah, draft Bell as you normally would. He should be coming off the board within the first three picks of every draft out there.|

Falcons | Roddy White sitting out Wed Jun 17, 01:50 PM
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (undisclosed) is out for the second straight day Wednesday, June 17.
|Footballguys view: No big deal here. Veterans get time off during minicamp and OTAs. There's no need for White to be out there and risk injury.|

Patriots | Scott Chandler does not practice Wed Jun 17, 01:33 PM
New England Patriots TE Scott Chandler (rib) did not participate in practice Wednesday, June 17, because he suffered an apparent rib injury Tuesday, June 16.
|Footballguys view: The Patriots are always quite clandestine when it comes to injury information. They won't rush Chandler back as he deals with this painful rib injury.|

Falcons | Matt Ryan likes new offense Wed Jun 17, 12:42 PM
Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan said he likes the offense that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has brought to the team because it is a balanced offense. 'Balance on offense is huge,' Ryan said. 'I think with the run scheme that Kyle brings in, that's going to help us improve in the run game. Certainly, when you get the running game going, that helps the quarterback and that helps the passing game. I'm all for it.'
|Footballguys view: Fantasy owners should be liking what's coming out of Atlanta right now. This team should have a potent offense with Shanahan running the show. Ryan will be able to benefit from a strong rushing attack featuring both Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. This will lead to play-action passing where Ryan should be able to pick apart defenses with Julio Jones, Roddy White and even newcomer TE Jacob Tamme. Ryan is coming off the board at QB7 (7.02) in 12-team PPR leagues, but he could push for a top-5 finish in 2015.|

Falcons | Jacob Tamme may be in lead for TE job Wed Jun 17, 12:31 PM
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme appears to be the leading candidate for the starting tight end job but is being pushed by TEs Tony Moeaki and Levine Toilolo. Head coach Dan Quinn indicated Toilolo could be used more as a blocker this season.
|Footballguys view: Moeaki has talent, but he always seems to be banged up. Toilolo is a captain on the Black Eyed Joe All-Name team, but he's coming off a seriously disappointing 2014 where he stayed in to block mostly. Tamme is a team-first guy, and he's got more left in the tank than some think. No Atlanta tight end is getting selected in 12-team PPR leagues at this time, but keep the veteran Tamme on your waiver-wire speed dial.|

Panthers | Stephen Hill impresses coach Wed Jun 17, 12:24 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Stephen Hill has been one of the standout performers during offseason workouts, according to head coach Ron Rivera.
|Footballguys view: Hill followed in the footsteps of greats like Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas at Georgia Tech. Injuries and inconsistencies have plagued his career to this point, but it sounds like he may be turning things around. A second-round pick of the Jets in 2012, Hill was on the Panthers practice squad last year. In super deep dynasty leagues we'd go ahead and buy low just out of curiosity.|

Cowboys | J.J. Wilcox out with injury Wed Jun 17, 12:16 PM
Dallas Cowboys FS J.J. Wilcox (foot) is not participating in practice Wednesday, June 17, because of a foot injury.
|Footballguys view: The team hopes Wilcox will be ready for the start of training camp. Jeff Heath will get more opportunity with Wilcox banged up. There's also a chance that 2015 27th-overall pick CB Byron Jones (UCONN) will get some looks at free safety as he can roam the field and make plays on the ball.|
Panthers | Kelvin Benjamin misses practice Wed Jun 17, 12:10 PM
Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (hamstring) did not take part in practice Wednesday, June 17, because of a hamstring injury.
|Footballguys view: Good thing for Benjamin, this is not the hamstring he injured earlier this offseason. With minicamps and OTAs about wrapped up, there's no need for the Panthers to rush Benjamin back.|
Kelvin Benjamin player page
Browns | Tashaun Gipson sitting out Wed Jun 17, 12:09 PM
Cleveland Browns FS Tashaun Gipson (hamstring) is not participating in practice Wednesday, June 17, because of a hamstring injury.
|Footballguys view: Gipson skipped voluntary workouts earlier this year after being upset with only a second-round tender as a restricted free agent. He ended up signing his one-year contract, but there are some Browns beat writers who think he'll get a long-term deal with the team in the near future. Either way, the Browns know he's got talent and they're not going to risk further injury by pushing him back with this hamstring injury.|

Jaguars | Storm Johnson exits early Wed Jun 17, 11:56 AM
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Storm Johnson (back) left practice Wednesday, June 17, with back tightness.
|Footballguys view: This back injury is not going to help Johnson make the final roster. He needs to get healthy and shine in training camp, or the team could move on from the former UCF standout.|

Bears | Daniel Thomas working out in Chicago Wed Jun 17, 11:50 AM
Free-agent RB Daniel Thomas (Dolphins) is working out with the Chicago Bears Wednesday, June 17.
|Footballguys view: The Bears have given Thomas an opportunity on a tryout basis. It's a good landing spot for the veteran back who has gotten little interest on the open market. The Bears have mostly unproven players behind starter Matt Forte. John Fox knows running back talent, so we'll have to see if Thomas can do enough to impress him and the new Bears coaching staff.|

Cowboys | Darren McFadden practices Wed Jun 17, 10:22 AM
Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (hamstring) practiced in full Tuesday, June 16. 'I'm 100% and ready to go play ball,' McFadden said. 'It felt great. We were just taking precautions, they didn't want me to mess it up or anything crazy. Just being out there today, it felt great. I was out there running, opening up and just trying to do what I can do.'
|Footballguys view: Yes, it's actually news when McFadden is healthy enough to fully practice. Talent is not--and has never been--an issue with the veteran back. He's a gifted runner who can't seem to shake the injury bug. If healthy, he can be an effective starter for the Cowboys behind that monstrous (and incredibly talented) offensive line. McFadden will compete with Joseph Randle for the starting job.|

Lions | Rasheed Williams waived Wed Jun 17, 09:05 AM
Detroit Lions RB Rasheed Williams was waived Wednesday, June 17.
|Footballguys view: Williams was a star for Division III Alfred State. At 6'0" 215 pounds, Williams can run a 4.5 40-yard dash. He's got a proven nose for the end zone and some wiggle in the open field. However, this is the second time they've cut Williams in the last month. Lions beat writers tend to feel the team is looking to add offensive line help with the open roster spot.|
Giants | Victor Cruz confident in health Wed Jun 17, 08:40 AM
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee) is hopeful he'll avoid the Physically Unable to Perform list and is confident he could pass the pre-training camp conditioning test right now. 'I'm trying to listen to my body and how it feels,' Cruz said. 'By late July, early August, I should be somewhere around 100%.'
|Footballguys view: Nothing but good reports about Cruz leading up to his point. Entering training camp, the Giants are likely to ease the veteran back into action. We're not even sure that Cruz will play in any preseason games. Monitor his progress during camp.|

Giants | Odell Beckham done until July Wed Jun 17, 08:35 AM
Updating previous reports, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) won't practice again until training camp opens in July.
|Footballguys view: This is the wise move for the Giants. Beckham was limited to straight-line running Tuesday, June 16, but he's done for organized team activities.|
Odell Beckham Jr player page
Saints | Matt James tries out Wed Jun 17, 07:33 AM
Free-agent WR Matt James (Wake Forest) tried out for the New Orleans Saints at the team's minicamp this week.
|Footballguys view: Earlier this year, James tried out for the Carolina Panthers but didn't earn a spot on the roster. He's got the size at 6'5" 211 pounds, and James was timed at 4.57 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the Wake Forest pro day. James didn't do much in his college career, finishing with only 48 catches for 458 yards and zero touchdowns. He was constantly banged up over the last three years, and James may not have what it takes to play in the NFL.|
Colts | Evan Mathis not in plans Wed Jun 17, 07:20 AM
Free-agent OG Evan Mathis (Eagles) isn't being pursued by the Indianapolis Colts, and the team is unlikely to change its mind.
|Footballguys view: The Colts should be after Mathis as they have a shaky offensive line in front of superstar Andrew Luck. Teams seem to be shying away from the talented veteran because of his likely price tag. Mathis can still play at a high level, and there's a few teams out there who will have no problem paying his salary.|
Chiefs | Chris Conley receiving starter looks Tue Jun 16, 11:15 PM
Kansas City Chiefs WR Chris Conley has been receiving a lot of snaps with the starting offense, with satisfactory results. Conley also started with the first-team offense recently when WR Jeremy Maclin (foot) sat out with a sore foot.
|Footballguys view: The rookie from Georgia has the talent to be a starter in the NFL. The Chiefs don't have a strong group of WRs behind Maclin, so Conley has a real opportunity for significant playing time in 2015. The nature of the offense (and Alex Smith) won't make Conley much of a fantasy factor....even if he's a starter.|

Jaguars | Marqise Lee being held out of minicamp Tue Jun 16, 11:02 PM
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (knee) is being held out of this week's minicamp because of a left knee injury, according to head coach Gus Bradley. Bradley noted Lee will be a full participant once training camp begins.
|Footballguys view: Lee had an inconsistent rookie season, but he did finish 2014 on a good run. Over the final six games of the regular season, Lee caught 24 passes for 278 yards and one receiving touchdown. If healthy, we'll see if he can build better chemistry with QB Blake Bortles this season.|
Marqise Lee player page
Saints | Marques Colston limiting his mileage Tue Jun 16, 10:50 PM
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston did not participate in minicamp practice Tuesday, June 16, and it was at least the third session he has missed over the past two weeks. 'When you play nine, 10 years in this league at a skill position, mileage is mileage,' Colston said. 'I'm just kind of in a mode where they want to manage that process throughout the year.'
|Footballguys view: We've got no problem with this at all. Seasoned veterans usually take time off during minicamp and OTAs, and Colston is no different. This season, the Saints are set to have a more balanced offense. This means the numbers from the passing game might not be as huge as they've been in recent years. Colston is not the same player he used to be (and hasn't had over 1,000 yards receiving in two years), and fantasy owners look at him as a WR48 (10.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Falcons | Justin Hardy impresses Matt Ryan Tue Jun 16, 10:40 PM
Atlanta Falcons WR Justin Hardy has impressed QB Matt Ryan early this offseason, 'He's really picked up things. And you can see him kind of every practice he goes out there, he gets a little more comfortable and he becomes a little more confident. That's going to bode well for us. His production for us this season is going to be important.'
|Footballguys view: The Falcons drafted Hardy to replace longtime WR3 Harry Douglas. He proved that he can move the sticks, converting 70 percent of his catches to first downs in 2014 at East Carolina. It's good that the rookie is already making his mark.|

Packers | Davante Adams praised by head coach Tue Jun 16, 10:13 PM
Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams has received significant praise from head coach Mike McCarthy and teammates for his development. 'I think Davante has done a great job in the strength and conditioning. He's been really, really good in practice throughout this deal. Davante, if you wanted me to pick an MVP or an all-star, he would definitely be atop the list,' McCarthy noted.
|Footballguys view: Adams is set to be the Packers third receiver behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. He'll face competition for that job from Jeff Janis, Jared Abbrederis and Ty Montgomery. We expect Adams to come out on top, and he's a fantasy player you need consider as a WR4/5 with upside. Right now, Adams has an ADP of WR44 (9.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.|

Packers | Coach impressed with Richard Rodgers Tue Jun 16, 10:03 PM
Green Bay Packers TE Richard Rodgers has progressed and taken a natural step forward, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. 'You look at the way he performed Week 1 compared to how he performed the last stretch of the season. Now you have a chance to go back and look at all the video, it's a lot more natural for him. He's not thinking about what he's doing, he's obviously focusing more on his technique and fundamentals and his awareness of what the defense is doing.'
|Footballguys view: Rodgers is set to be the top tight end in Green Bay. He'll face competition from Andrew Quarless for that job in training camp. The tight end just isn't used that much in the Packers offense today, so Rodgers shouldn't be much of a fantasy factor.|
NFL | Michael Vick selling himself to GMs Tue Jun 16, 09:28 PM
Free-agent QB Michael Vick remains without a job, but he tried selling himself to general managers Tuesday, June 16. '(I'm) a proven winner. I think that I've done a lot throughout the course of my career,' Vick began. 'I've proved that I can win games and play with some consistency and be a leader. I think those are the qualities that you want in a quarterback,' Vick said. When asked if has thought about this being the end of his career, Vick was in denial, 'Going through times like this you kind of think about it,' he said. 'I know I have been playing a long time. It's been 13 years. I know I still have a lot of football left in me. You never want to think of it in that regard,' said Vick.
|Footballguys view: The market has been cool for Vick's services. After a year with the Jets where he reportedly checked out of team meetings and practice, it's no surprise teams don't want to add the veteran quarterback. We'll see if an injury in training camp opens up the door for him to compete.|

Redskins | RG3 making progress Tue Jun 16, 09:09 PM
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III has been impressing head coach Jay Gruden this offseason. 'The more he plays, the more success he has, the more confidence he's going to build up as a player and the more confident this whole offense is going to be with him under center,' Gruden said of Griffin. 'That comes with time. I don't think anybody lacks confidence with him at quarterback. I think the transition for him into a new season last season was a little bit rocky for all of us. When you have the same system going in for Year 2, I think he's going to get better,' said Gruden.
|Footballguys view: Good news for Griffin here. This is a make-or-break year for Griffin as he needs to stay healthy and produce if he wants to stick as Washington's franchise quarterback. We'll see if he can do just that in 2015.|
Robert Griffin III player page
Steelers | Ben Roethlisberger embracing leadership Tue Jun 16, 08:56 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is embracing a leadership role this offseason. 'It's fun because I can tell the guys what I want on the field and they are going to listen because we all want to be the best we can be and help each other win,' Roethlisberger said. 'I am just happy to have the coach's blessing to be able to do that and not stepping on anybody's toes.' At 33 years old, Roethlisberger is the second-oldest player on the Steelers' roster, behind only LB James Harrison.
|Footballguys view: Roethlisberger is still near the top of his game, and the Steelers have incredible weapons on offense around him. He may not pass for over 4,900 yards like he did last year, but going over 4,500 sounds reasonable. We could also see Roethlisberger tossing 30-plus touchdowns in 2015. DFS players should look to Roethlisberger over the first three weeks of the season while RB Le'Veon Bell is suspended.|
Ben Roethlisberger player page
Buccaneers | Mike Evans being used as 'X' WR Tue Jun 16, 08:49 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans said he's being used exclusively as an 'X' wide receiver. Evans was used as the 'Z' receiver as a rookie, but he said he likes the move and 'being on an island.'
|Footballguys view: An "X" or split end receiver lines up on the left side of the formation, and he is required to line up on the line of scrimmage. When possible, he's on the opposite side of the tight end. Evans has the size and strength to regularly win at the point of the catch. We'll see what kind of chemistry he can build with rookie QB Jameis Winston this season.|

Bears | Martellus Bennett at minicamp Tue Jun 16, 08:41 PM
Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett participated in minicamp practice Tuesday, June 16, after skipping the first three weeks of organized team activities. Bennett told reporters he expects to be at training camp on reporting day in late July.
|Footballguys view: Bennett didn't want to get fined, and that's why he showed up. He can now start learning the offense under new OC Adam Gase. Bennett led all tight ends last year with 90 receptions, but his numbers should dip this season with the arrival of first-round WR Kevin White and free agent WR Eddie Royal.|

Packers | Matt Blanchard has edge for No.3 QB job Tue Jun 16, 08:35 PM
Green Bay Packers QB Matt Blanchard has looked well ahead of rookie QB Brett Hundley in the competition for the team's No. 3 quarterback job. 'Matt Blanchard had a heck of a day today,' Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday, June 16. 'I'll just tell you what I told him when I met him in April [at his workout]. I said, 'Why the hell don't you have a job?''
|Footballguys view: That's not what Hundley's dynasty owners wanted to hear. It's not guaranteed the Packers even keep a third quarterback out of training camp, but if they do Hundley may be the one they end up choosing based on his potential as a fifth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.|
Brett Hundley player page
Packers | Ty Montgomery standing out Tue Jun 16, 08:27 PM
Green Bay Packers WR Ty Montgomery was a standout at minicamp practice Tuesday, June 16. Quarterbacks and receivers coach Alex Van Pelt said he was impressed with Montgomery's ability to retain the plays from rookie camp. Montgomery also caught a deep ball and exhibited his catch-and-run ability.
|Footballguys view: Montgomery has running back ability in the open field with the ball in his hands. He can play outside or in the slot at the pro level. He works his tail off and is known to be very coachable. The rookie from Stanford is going to compete for the WR3 job behind Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb.|

Buccaneers | Jameis Winston wants to earn job Tue Jun 16, 08:26 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston said Tuesday, June 16, he wants to earn the starting quarterback job, as opposed to having it handed to him. Winston doesn't plan to take it safe during the process, either. 'I like to throw guys open,' Winston told USA TODAY Sports after Tuesday's opening practice of minicamp. 'I threw a couple interceptions last year. But it's a new year, and I've got a lot of good guys, and I'm looking forward to greatness,' said Winston.
|Footballguys view: Yes, Winston will "earn" the job. He's going to compete with Mike Glennon in training camp, but he's clearly the frontrunner and we would be downright shocked if he doesn't start in Week 1 of the regular season.|
Jameis Winston player page
Falcons | Devonta Freeman starts as top RB Tue Jun 16, 07:41 PM
Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman began minicamp as the starting running back.
|Footballguys view: As the more experienced pro (one season), Freeman gets the nod over rookie Tevin Coleman...for now. These two will battle it out in training camp to determine which one will be Atlanta's lead back. Freeman is built low to the ground, can change direction without losing much speed and he's dangerous in space. Coleman (one of our favorite rookie RBs) has speed, speed and more speed. He's a big-play weapon who gets stronger as the game goes on. Coleman is a real threat to score any time he touches the ball. This will be an interesting battle to watch in August.|

Cowboys | HC not worried about Dez Bryant Tue Jun 16, 07:04 PM
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant's threat to sit out of regular season games if he doesn't receive a long-term extension doesn't have head coach Jason Garrett worried. 'It doesn't concern me one bit,' Garrett said. 'Dez loves football. He has a great passion for the game. He wants to be a great player. He wants our team to be great. He's been working every day to do that and we'll take care of the business as we go.'
|Footballguys view: We're not worried about this situation....yet. When we get to (and past) the July 15th deadline to sign franchise-tagged players to a long-term contract then we'll know more about the landscape of the future. Bryant could hold out, but let's first see if the two sides can't come to a new agreement by mid-July.|

Patriots | Scott Chandler leaves with injury Tue Jun 16, 06:46 PM
New England Patriots TE Scott Chandler (side) left practice early Tuesday, June 16, as he held the right side of his body while visiting with the Patriots' head trainer.

Browns | Duke Johnson signed Tue Jun 16, 06:24 PM
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, June 16. Financial terms were undisclosed.
|Footballguys view: Johnson plays with a lot of burst and quickness. His foot frequency is among the best of any back in this draft class. Johnson is dangerous as a receiver in open space out of the backfield, and he can change direction instantly and with ease. He's best used as a part-time player, and that's what the Browns will do this season. Johnson should be a complementary runner/receiver behind starter Isaiah Crowell.|

Raiders | Clive Walford signs Tue Jun 16, 06:03 PM
Oakland Raiders TE Clive Walford signed his four-year rookie deal Tuesday, June 16. Financial terms were undisclosed.
|Footballguys view: This wasn't a great tight end class, but Walford is a rookie to watch. He can make difficult catches seem routine, and Walford goes all out to make the play. Walford does need to be more consistent as a pass-catcher as he would disappear for stretches of time in college with the Miami Hurricanes.|

Bears | Jay Cutler confident in new offense Tue Jun 16, 05:37 PM
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said he's feeling great about the offense under new offensive coordinator Adam Gase. 'I know the guys like it. I know the receivers like it,' Cutler said. 'TE Martellus Bennett is going to love it when he gets involved. We just have to keep heading in the direction we are going and keep studying. We are not where we want to be yet.'
|Footballguys view: Cutler should be confident in what Gase brings to the table. This is going to be a pass-happy offense that stays aggressive no matter how the game is unfolding. It's a make-or-break season for Cutler this year. If he can quickly learn this offense and finally play up to his potential then he should stick with the Bears. If things fall apart for Cutler, the Bears might move on from the veteran quarterback in 2016.|

Giants | Victor Cruz progressing Tue Jun 16, 05:12 PM
New York Giants WR Victor Cruz (knee) said he is progressing well as he continues to recover from knee surgery.

Victor Cruz player page
49ers | Darius Davis waived Tue Jun 16, 05:01 PM
San Francisco 49ers WR Darius Davis was waived Tuesday, June 16.
|Footballguys view: Davis was added as an undrafted free agent earlier this year. The Henderson State product might have a difficult time latching on with another team. He's got good run-after-the-catch ability and is tough to bring down with the ball in his hands. His speed, quickness and route-running ability need a lot of work if he's going to stick i the pros.|
Packers | Sign Damarious Randall Tue Jun 16, 04:56 PM
Green Bay Packers first-round pick rookie CB Damarious Randall signed his four-year deal Tuesday, June 16. Financial terms were not disclosed.
|Footballguys view: The Arizona State standout is a bit of a 'tweener as he can play both cornerback and safety. He's a competitive player who works hard to break up passes. Randall does a good job of anticipating routes and has the foot quickness to get himself in place to make plays.|

Seahawks | Russell Wilson to play with insurance Tue Jun 16, 04:19 PM
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson will play in the final year of his contract with an insurance policy in case he suffers a career-ending injury, according to sources.
|Footballguys view: Wilson playing with insurance is not a big deal, in fact it's a wise move for the young quarterback. Reports coming out of Seattle indicate that Wilson and the Seahawks are far apart in negotiations. We have confidence that something will get done as Wilson's play has already helped Seattle become one of the best--if not the best--in the NFL.|

Rams | Todd Gurley doesn't practice Tue Jun 16, 04:06 PM
St. Louis Rams RB Todd Gurley (knee) did not practice at minicamp Tuesday, June 16. He is still recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
|Footballguys view: We won't see Gurley practice until training camp. Even then, the Rams should be cautious when easing him back into the swing of things. Gurley has superstar potential, but recovering from this knee injury could slow his production early in his rookie season.|
Todd Gurley player page
Giants | Odell Beckham runs at minicamp Tue Jun 16, 03:53 PM
New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) did some light running on the sideline during minicamp Tuesday, June 16.
|Footballguys view: Beckham had hamstring problems that lingered at the beginning of last season and forced him to miss the first four games of the season. The Giants are wisely being cautious with their young superstar as he deals with more hamstring problems.|
Browns | Duke Johnson seen as three-down player Tue Jun 16, 03:20 PM
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson is viewed as a three-down running back by the Browns' coaching staff as he continues to draw rave reviews.
|Footballguys view: Johnson can be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield, but we think he could wear down if used frequently in a full-time role. He's certainly a three-down player, but Johnson is best used in a RBBC. Johnson will split time with Isaiah Crowell this season.|
Cowboys | Dez Bryant not in talks with Dallas Tue Jun 16, 03:13 PM
Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is willing to miss more than just the regular season opener if he does not receive a long-term contract extension. There are no talks between the two sides at this juncture.
|Footballguys view: Deals get done at deadlines in the NFL. There are no talks right now, but that could change when we get close to the mid-July deadline. The Cowboys are in a Super Bowl window with Dez Bryant on the field, that's not the case without him.|
49ers | Sign three players Tue Jun 16, 02:51 PM
Undrafted free-agents WR Mario Hull (Rice) and PK Corey Acosta (Southern Mississippi) and free-agent C Ben Gottschalk (Buccaneers) signed undisclosed deals with the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday, June 16.
|Footballguys view: Hull is the guy to watch here in super deep dynasty leagues. He was undrafted out of Rice, but his career seems to be trending in the right direction. In 2014, Hull set career highs in 32 catches for 621 yards and eight touchdowns.|
Packers | Andrew Quarless receives praise Tue Jun 16, 02:40 PM
Green Bay Packers TE Andrew Quarless has made strides this offseason, according to QB Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers said he thought something clicked for Quarless late last season and he's ready to take the next step.
