Buccaneers | Darrelle Revis practicing Wed Dec 4, 12:21 PM
Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Darrelle Revis (chest, groin, shoulder) was participating during the media-access portion of practice Wednesday, Dec. 4.
|Footballguys view: It's a good sign for his availability if Revis is practicing (even if limited) on Wednesday. We'll see if Revis can continue practice as the week goes on. The Bucs play the Bills on Sunday.|

Ravens | Hope Dennis Pitta can play Week 14 Wed Dec 4, 12:14 PM
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said he is hopeful that TE Dennis Pitta (hip) will be able to play in the team's Week 14 game.
|Footballguys view: Getting Pitta back would be huge for the Ravens passing game. He's a favorite target of Joe Flacco, and Pitta can get open with ease on underneath routes. If Pitta does play in Week 14 against the Vikings we like him as a low-end TE1 for fantasy owners.|

Ravens | Jimmy Smith cleared Wed Dec 4, 12:12 PM
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said CB Jimmy Smith (concussion) has been cleared to play Week 14 after going through the concussion protocol.
|Footballguys view: Good news for the Ravens here. Smith has been playing better this year, and having him roam around in the secondary against he Vikings will help the defense greatly.|

Texans | Expect Owen Daniels to play this season Wed Dec 4, 12:12 PM
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he expects TE Owen Daniels (leg) to play again at some point this season. Daniels has been ruled out for Week 14.
|Footballguys view: Garrett Graham is going to start again this week against the Jaguars on Thursday night. There's better options at TE1 for fantasy owners in the first week of the fantasy playoffs.|

Browns | Not ready to name starting QB Wed Dec 4, 12:03 PM
Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said he is not ready to name a starting quarterback for the team's Week 14 game. QBs Jason Campbell (concussion) and QB Brandon Weeden (concussion) have been cleared for activity but will not practice Wednesday, Dec. 4. QBs Caleb Hanie and Alex Tanney will split reps during practice. No quarterback has been ruled out to start the game.
|Footballguys view: The team has to wait and see if Campbell or Weeden can practice. It's not a good sign if Hanie or Tanney have to start. Tanney is a great trick shot quarterback, but he lacks experience in the NFL. Hanie has plenty of experience, but he's not a quality option as a starter.|

Vikings | Matt Cassel likely to start Wed Dec 4, 11:35 AM
Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder (concussion) still isn't cleared to practice, and QB Matt Cassel is likely to start in Week 14.
|Footballguys view: If Cassel is starting then it elevates the fantasy stock of the passing game. He has good chemistry with Greg Jennings, so trusting Jennings as a WR4 with upside is an option this week.|

Giants | Brandon Jacobs practicing Wed Dec 4, 11:07 AM
New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs (knee) is practicing Wednesday, Dec. 4.
|Footballguys view: Jacobs may be able to get back on the field this week. If he plays then he'll reduce the fantasy value of Peyton Hillis. Jacobs could also cut into the value of Andre Brown as the bulking veteran back is a touchdown vulture.|

Steelers | Mike Tomlin fined Wed Dec 4, 11:04 AM
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was fined $100,000 for his incident in Week 13 in which he came onto the field during a kick return by Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones.
|Footballguys view: That's an expensive mistake. Tomlin took full responsibility for his actions and we're certain he (or any other coach) won't step on the field to disrupt a return again.|
Giants | Hakeem Nicks off injury report Wed Dec 4, 10:37 AM
New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (abdomen) is not listed on the injury report this week.
|Footballguys view: Great news for Nicks here. Fantasy owners still can't trust him as anything more than a WR4/flex play against the Chargers in Week 14.|

Bills | Tashard Choice cut Wed Dec 4, 09:48 AM
The Buffalo Bills waived RB Tashard Choice.
|Footballguys view: The team wouldn't do this if they didn't feel comfortable about the health status of the running backs ahead of him on the depth chart. C.J. Spiller looked to be at full strength last week, and fantasy owners can trust him as a RB2 with upside in Week 14.|

Bears | Don't want to use franchise tag on Jay Cutler Wed Dec 4, 09:02 AM
Chicago Bears general manager Phil Emery said the team doesn't want to use the franchise tag on QB Jay Cutler. 'With the franchise tag being so high for the quarterback position, to use it and not sign the individual to a long-term deal hurts the team because you lose the ability to prorate the amount of guaranteed salary over the length of the contract,' Emery said.
|Footballguys view: The Bears have a problem on their hands. Cutler is in the final year of his contract, but has been hurt for much of this season. The team may not be able to find a price they're comfortable paying Cutler before he hits free agency. We'll see if the two sides can figure something out, but at this time it sounds like the franchise tag would be a last-ditch option.|

Redskins | Robert Griffin's family rift with coach dates back to January Wed Dec 4, 08:24 AM
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III's father originally rebuffed head coach Mike Shanahan's attempts to reach out after Griffin's knee injury in January. Robert Griffin Jr., appreciated the gesture but felt Shanahan should worry more about coaching than building a stronger bond with Griffin III. Griffin Jr., took issue with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's play-calling, which they felt put Griffin III at further risk after his initial injury.
|Footballguys view: It's boiling down to a "him or me" situation with Washington. This season is lost, and the team may choose to move in a different direciton -- at head coach.|

Bills | Scott Chandler on pace for best season Wed Dec 4, 02:48 AM
Buffalo Bills TE Scott Chandler is on pace to finish with 55 catches and 655 yards. If he does, he'll break his career highs of 43 catches and 571 yards set in 2012, and finish with the second-most receiving yards by a tight end in franchise single-season history (726 by Paul Costa in 1967). Chandler also has at least one catch in 28 straight games, and if he continues that streak through the end of the season, he'll set a team record for most consecutive games with a reception by a tight end. Reuben Gant holds the record of 31 games from 1976-78.Link to story

Dolphins | Could face ugly weather in Pittsburgh Tue Dec 3, 11:38 PM
The Miami Dolphins could face wintry weather in their Week 14 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, Dec. 8. The forecast currently calls for a wintry mix with temperatures in the low 30's with an east wind around 10 mph. 'Snow is probably last because it's really not as wet or causes as many problems,' WR Brian Hartline said Tuesday, Dec. 3. 'Wind can be a pain in the butt because ball location changes really quickly. Rain, it depends because if it's soaking wet, it's maybe not as bad because you can adjust.'
|Footballguys view: The Dolphins may not be able to strike through the air as effectively if they're playing in inclement weather. This could drop the numbers for guys like Ryan Tannehill, Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace. Fantasy owners need to keep an eye on this situation when considering any Dolphins skill position player.|

NCAA | Marcus Mariota staying in school Tue Dec 3, 11:38 PM
University of Oregon QB Marcus Mariota announced Tuesday, Dec. 3, that he is staying in school for another season. Mariota was projected as a Top 5 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
|Footballguys view: The draft loses a top-flight quarterback here. Mariota was arguably the second-best quarterback in this draft class behind Teddy Bridgewater (Louisville). If he stays healthy and continues to develop as a passer then we could see Mariota as the top overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Without Mariota, the draft stock of guys like Brett Hundley (UCLA) and Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M) elevates.|

Cowboys | DeMarco Murray's role to expand Tue Dec 3, 09:21 PM
The Dallas Cowboys plan to ride RB DeMarco Murray as much as they can after losing RB Lance Dunbar (knee). 'DeMarco Murray is our lead back, has been our lead back all year long, has done an excellent job for us, did a really good job in the game the other day again,' head coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday, Dec. 3. 'He'll be the lead dog. The other guys, (RBs Joseph Randle and Phillip Tanner) will have to step up if they have an opportunity if DeMarco can't go.'
|Footballguys view: An important note for fantasy owners here. More Murray is a great thing if his body can handle the increased workload. He's a must-start most every week as a RB2 with upside.|

We probably have a decision to make. I know he's worked pretty hard (Monday) with the trainers, so we'll see.'
