Bengals | Jerome Harrison easily making transition Wed Jul 31, 11:47 AM
Cincinnati Bengals LB Jerome Harrison has easily made the transition from the 3-4 defensive scheme he was used to with the Pittsburgh Steelers to the 4-3 alignment of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. 'He's exceeded my expectations, to be honest with you. Typically, that transition is a little more difficult. Shoot, we're finding a lot of things for him to do,' Zimmer said. 'The coverage was what I was a little worried about. But he's doing things really well. We'll find a lot of ways to use him in all kinds of different packages.'

Lions | Jerome Harrison suffering from seizures Fri Oct 5, 02:30 PM
Cleveland Browns WR Joshua Cribbs, who is close friends with Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison (brain), said Harrison's recovery from a brain tumor is not going so well. 'I still go over to his house every now and then and talk to him. He's doing pretty bad. He's in and out of the hospital with seizures. They just don't want the same thing to happen to me,' Cribbs said.

Lions | Jerome Harrison put on reserve/illness list Tue May 15, 06:20 PM
The Detroit Lions placed RB Jerome Harrison (head) on the reserve/non-football illness list Tuesday, May 15, ending his 2012 season.
Footballguys view: Harrison is progressing after having a brain tumor removed that was discovered last year when he was almost traded to the Eagles. The failed physical likely saved his life. |

Lions | Running back a need Sat Mar 3, 01:32 AM
The Detroit Lions need to address their running back position during the NFL Draft or free-agent market. While RBs Jahvid Best (concussion) and Mikel Leshoure (Achilles') are under contract, the team enters the offseason without a clear No. 1 running back. If Best and Leshoure return at 100 percent, the Lions will be in good shape -- however, that is tough to bank on at this point in time. RBs Joique Bell, Jerome Harrison and Keiland Williams are also under contract.

Lions | Jerome Harrison has brain tumor Thu Oct 20, 01:12 PM
Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison (head) was not traded to the Philadelphia Eagles because a physical showed he has a brain tumor. He has begun receiving treatment for the tumor and his long-term outlook for his life as well as his playing career appears to be good. He is expected to miss the rest of this season.
Footballguys view: It's good that a trade was attempted because it forced him to take the physical that found the brain tumor. |

Lions | Maurice Morris likely to start Week 7 Thu Oct 20, 12:23 PM
With Detroit Lions RBs Jahvid Best (concussion) and Jerome Harrison (undisclosed) injured, RB Maurice Morris will likely start the team's Week 7 game.
Footballguys view: Morris is a solid veteran with an all-around game. He's not flashy, but he gets the job done. If you're a Best owner, or in trouble at the RB position because of the bye week, you could do a lot worse than picking up and playing Morris. |

Updating a previous report, the Detroit Lions gave up RB Jerome Harrison and a seventh-round pick in the 2013 draft Tuesday, Oct. 18, in exchange for RB Ronnie Brown.
Footballguys view: Jerome Harrison will once again be the backup behind LeSean McCoy in Philadelphia. We feel he'll end up splitting time in that role with rookie Dion Lewis. |

The Detroit Lions acquired RB Ronnie Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles Tuesday, Oct. 18, in exchange for RB Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick.

The Detroit Lions have declared DL Andre Fluellen, QB Drew Stanton, OT Jason Fox, RB Jerome Harrison, LB Justin Durant, TE Tony Scheffler, SS Vincent Fuller inactive for Week 6.
Footballguys view: Harrison is clearly no longer an option as the backup RB in Detroit. He can dropped in all formats. Brandon Pettigrew is in for a lot of targets with Scheffler still struggling to come back from a concussion. |

Lions | Jerome Harrison impressing Sat Sep 3, 05:25 PM
Detroit Lions backup RB Jerome Harrison has impressed head coach Jim Schwartz with his play during the preseason. 'Every time he goes in, he gains yards. He is a very, very productive runner,' Schwartz said. Schwartz added that Harrison doesn't get thrown for too many losses and has done a good job of breaking a lot of long runs.
Footballguys view: With Jahvid Best's concussion history, Harrison is one of the more likely backups to see extended playing time this year if the Lions don't add another back after cuts are complete. |

Lions | Jerome Harrison leads team in receiving yards Sun Aug 28, 07:53 PM
Detroit Lions RB Jerome Harrison had eight carries for 24 yards rushing against the New England Patriots Saturday, Aug. 27. He also caught three passes for 51 yards.
Footballguys view: Harrison is a do everything type of RB who will serve as the primary backup behind Jahvid Best. If Best were to miss time with an injury then the team would look to Harrison to lead the way. |

Lions | Looking for more from two RBs Thu Aug 18, 03:55 PM
Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team will be looking for more production from RBs Jerome Harrison and Mike Bell in the second preseason game. The two running backs combined for 13 yards on 11 carries in the first preseason game.
Footballguys view: Schwartz wanted to establish a strong running game in Detroit, but Mikel Leshoure's season-ending achilles injury will make that very difficult. Harrison got almost no interest on the free agent market, and we're seeing why. |

Lions | Two RBs signed Tue Aug 9, 10:12 AM
The Detroit Lions have signed free-agent RBs Jerome Harrison (Eagles) and Mike Bell (Browns). Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: The season ending injury for Mikel LeShoure has the Lions scrambling to add talent. Bell is purely a power runner who can grind out tough yards. Harrison is a good change up runner with speed and agility to be dangerous in the open field. |

The Detroit Lions, in the market for a dependable short-yardage back, might look at a handful of free agents. The possibilities include free-agent RBs Tiki Barber (Giants), Jerome Harrison (Eagles) and Clinton Portis (Redskins).

The St. Louis Rams are interested in free-agent RBs Jason Snelling (Falcons) and, to a lesser extent, Jerome Harrison (Eagles). The team is looking for a backup to RB Steven Jackson.

Eagles | Would like to bring back Jerome Harrison Mon Jul 25, 02:10 AM
The Philadelphia Eagles would like to bring back free-agent RB Jerome Harrison, but it's likely he'll try and land elsewhere for a much larger role than he'd have with the Eagles.
Footballguys view: Harrison should stay in Philly where he could play as a key backup behind LeSean McCoy. The Eagles drafted Dion Lewis this year but need quality veteran depth behind McCoy, and Harrison would be just that. We can't imagine any team willing to give Harrison much of a chance to start. |

Eagles | May look for RB if Jerome Harrison leaves Wed Jun 22, 12:03 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles may look for a backup running back this offseason if impending free-agent RB Jerome Harrison leaves for free agency.
Footballguys view: The Eagles selected RB Dion Lewis in the fifth-round of the 2011 NFL Draft and he could be a good change of pace player behind LeSean McCoy. However, a veteran free agent could be added to help the depth at the position. They may have interest in Reggie Bush if he's available and bringing back Brian Westbrook is an option too. |

Browns | Team wants to add a change of pace RB Mon May 23, 01:34 PM
Tony Grossi, from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Browns may want to add a change of pace, pass catching RB via free agency. Options for the team could be Jerome Harrison, Darren Sproles, or Brian Westbrook.
Footballguys view: Westbrook makes a lot of sense as he proved he has more left in the tank than some thought last year as a member of the 49ers, plus he has a relationship with GM Tom Heckert from his days in Philadelphia. Sproles would be a good option too, and could help out as a returner. Harrison was with the Browns last year until he was traded to Philadelphia in exchange for Mike Bell. |

Eagles | Jerome Harrison received a second-round tender Tue Mar 8, 02:32 AM
Philadelphia Eagles RB Jerome Harrison received a second-round tender last week, reports Sheil Kapadia, of Philly.com. However, he has five years of experience, and it's unclear what the chances are of him returning until the CBA is resolved.
Footballguys view: Harrison came to Philadelphia in a trade that sent Mike Bell to Cleveland. He has a similar skill set to starting RB LeSean McCoy and gives the team valuable veteran depth. |

Eagles | Tender contracts to two Thu Mar 3, 03:32 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles tendered contracts to restricted free-agent RB Jerome Harrison (second-round compensation) and P Sav Rocca (no compensation) Thursday, March 3.
Footballguys view: Harrison proved to be a valuable backup behind LeSean McCoy. He's compact, runs with a good pad level and low center of gravity which makes him difficult to bring down. |
Eagles | Nine not tendered contracts Wed Mar 2, 11:20 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles did not tender contracts to OG Nick Cole, LB Omar Gaither, CB Antoine Harris, RB Jerome Harrison, CB Ellis Hobbs, LB Akeem Jordan, P Sav Rocca, LB Ernie Sims and OG Reggie Wells, making them free agents, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.
Footballguys view: Harrison played well after coming over in a trade with Cleveland during the season. He is a versatile back who could be brought back to the team as a backup behind LeSean McCoy. |

Eagles | Jerome Harrison working as returner Fri Nov 19, 12:55 PM
Philadelphia Eagles RB Jerome Harrison has been working as a returner during practices recently, reports Jonathan Tamari, of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Footballguys view: Harrison has also been getting quite a few reps as the lead back in practice while LeSean McCoy deals with a shoulder injury. McCoy should be good to go on Sunday, which will relegate Harrison to backup duty. |

Eagles | Jerome Harrison tops 100 rushing yards in Week 10 Tue Nov 16, 02:36 AM
Philadelphia Eagles RB Jerome Harrison carried the ball 11 times for 109 yards and one score in Philly's 59-28 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 10, according to NFL.com. Harrison scored on a 50-yard touchdown run.
Footballguys view: Don't read too much into Harrison's big game. The Redskins tackling was atrocious and they played like a shell-shocked team in general. He might be worth carrying as a LeSean McCoy handcuff, but he is not forcing a committee based on this game. |

Philadelphia Eagles offense coordinator Marty Mornhinweg said RB Jerome Harrison is picking up the team's offense system well and that the team has a plan for him, reports Les Bowen, of the Philadelphia Daily News.
