Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports the San Francisco 49ers have activated WR Michael Crabtree to make sure they had 53 players on their roster. The team would have been forced to released WR Dominique Zeigler from their practice squad if they fail to keep 53 players on their roster.

| Footballguys view: Zeigler was having a great camp and preseason, but it looks like it's back to the practice squad for him. The 49ers decided to keep Jason Hill and Michael Spurlock instead. Sheets was also drawing raves, but the team decided to only keep two true tailbacks in Frank Gore and Glen Coffee. Kory Sheets ran with authority this preseason, and has one of the best stiff arms in the game. He is a prime candidate for the 49ers practice squad as well. |
