The police report obtained by the Free Press stated Hurwitz complained of jaw and forehead pain, as well as suffering what he believed to have been a broken nose. According to the report, Young reacted to Hurwitz informing him that he wouldn't be released from the medical facility.   NFL | Titus Young no-shows again    Tue Jul 2, 06:06 PM

Free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams) didn't show up for his second straight court appearance but was given an excused absence from a judge in Newport Beach, Calif. Young's lawyer, Altus W. Hudson II, says that Young hasn't appeared for his hearings in the 11-count criminal case against him because he's still undergoing treatment for concussions related to his NFL days.

Footballguys view: Young's NFL career is likely over, but the evidence that the defense eventually presents about how his head injuries might have contributed to his crimes will be watched closely by the NFL and thousands of players that are suing the league for allegedly hiding the known risks of concussions and rushing them back onto the field.

Detroit Lions LB Stephen Tulloch said he was with free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams) on an airplane and that Young showed him a document that explained the mental disorder Young is dealing with. 'He's aware of the situation that he's dealing with and he showed me a paper and we went over it and I looked over it, and I understand it,' Tulloch said. 'A lot of people laugh about it and ke-ke-ke about it, but it's real. He has head issues, and the Titus Young when he came in as a rookie and the Titus Young now is two different people. It's kind of like when you look at him, he's looking through you. It's different. You can tell there's something going on in his mind, in his head, and I hope that he can get help.' Tulloch has contacted the NFL to see if they can help Young with his situation.

Footballguys view: We're hoping Young gets the help he needs here. It's beyond his football career (which may be over), he needs to get his life back on track.

NFL | Titus Young arrested twice in 15 hours    Wed May 8, 08:32 AM

Free-agent WR Titus Young (Rams) was arrested twice in a 15-hour span Sunday, May 5, by the Moreno Valley Police Department in southern California. Young was stopped and arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. Hours later, at 2:22 p.m. that day, officers responded to a tow company yard where a man was seen jumping over the fence. He was arrested for burglary after the police determined he was trying to take his own vehicle. He was booked again at the same detention center.

Footballguys view: Young was bounced from the Lions for attitude problems earlier this year and only lasted with the Rams for 10 days before being released. He's likely played his last down in the NFL. We're hoping Young gets the help he needs to get his life back on track.

Really, it's unfortunate, but I feel like I want to help him deal with his problems, whatever they are, and we support him.'

Footballguys view: Two teams have released Young this offseason. The Rams released him after only 9 days of being with the team. Young will be lucky to latch on with another team.

Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said recently released WR Titus Young was healthy, and that was not a factor in his release. Fisher said the Rams coaching staff felt that Young would be a better fit for another organization. "We felt like by claiming Titus we would have the opportunity to spend a good deal of time with him," Fisher said. "We spent that time with him, we spent probably four or five days with him, and as an organization, at the end of the interview process, you might call it, we felt it was best to go in another direction."

Footballguys view: Wow. Young has been with the team less than two weeks and they're already cutting ties. It's not a good sign for his value around the league. Attitude problems could see him bounced from the league. There may be another team willing to take a chance on him, but he has some major things to fix before finding a fit.

Rams | Could Titus Young be a slot WR?    Wed Feb 6, 09:22 AM

The St. Louis Rams may have claimed WR Titus Young off waivers as insurance should the team be unable to re-sign impending free-agent WR Danny Amendola. 'I don't think it affects Danny one bit,' Amendola's agent, Erik Burkhardt, said. 'Titus Young isn't anywhere in the same ZIP code as Danny as far as a player goes. I'm sure Young may disagree with that because he thinks he's better than Calvin Johnson.' The Rams, however, are desperate for help at the wide receiver position.

Footballguys view: The Rams don't have a ton of money to pursue a big money WR in free agency. We think it's very likely that Amendola returns to the team to be their lead WR in 2013.

Rams | Claim Titus Young    Tue Feb 5, 04:41 PM

The St. Louis Rams claimed WR Titus Young (Lions) Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Footballguys view: Young will now be reunited with former college teammate Austin Pettis. We'll see if Jeff Fisher can get to Young and keep him from being a problem in the locker room or on the field.

Lions | Titus Young released    Mon Feb 4, 03:49 PM

The Detroit Lions have released WR Titus Young.

Footballguys view: Young's act wore thin with the Lions during the season as he frequently ran the wrong routes and got into shouting matches with his coaches and teammates. He's got speed to burn and will get another shot with an NFL team. However, signing Young will come with the character risk and attitude problems he doesn't seem to be over right now.

Lions | Titus Young fed up    Fri Jan 25, 11:47 AM

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young posted on his Twitter page that he wants the team to either cut him or commit to him. 'Oh I'm not done, if y'all going to cut me let me go. I'm tired of the threats,' Young tweeted.

Footballguys view: Young isn't doing himself any favors here. His agent, or his friends, should tell him to stay off social networking and work on his maturity problems. The Lions have left the door open for Young and they need a speedy receiver to work opposite Calvin Johnson. The more he tweets things like this, the less likely it is the Lions bring him back in 2013.

Lions | Jim Schwartz responds to Titus Young tweet    Wed Jan 23, 04:39 PM

Guys are responsible for what they post, what they say. You wear your uniform 24 hours a day now, everybody's aware of that. We obviously still got some ground to cover there'

Footballguys view: Just about everything Young has done in the last year has been a pretty good example of a not so good idea.

Lions | Titus Young wants the football more    Tue Jan 22, 02:41 PM

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young is threatening to not play football if he does not get the ball thrown to him more. 'Like I said I never been selfish but if I'm not going to get the football I don't want to play anymore,' Young said through his twitter account. Young has a long list of previous issues with the Lions, including punching a teammate and intentionally lining up in the wrong place on the field before ultimately being sent home and placed on Injured Reserve at the end of the season.

Footballguys view: It sounds like Young still has some growing up to do. The Lions kept the door open this offseason but this type of report isn't likely to sit well with the team.

Lions | Titus Young could return    Mon Dec 31, 03:01 PM

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young could return to the team next season, according to head coach Jim Schwartz. "There's a chance," Schwartz said. "There is a process involved there. He's a very talented player and obviously made a difference when he was on the field and it, particularly with the way the injuries went with Nate Burleson and then later (Ryan) Broyles, it affected the team not having him out there." Young got sent home for behavioral issues and was eventually placed in Injured Reserve late in the 2012 season.

Footballguys view: Young needs to grow up if he wants to make it in the NFL. We've seen other players go through this crucible and come out better for it. We'll see if Young can be one of those success stories.

Lions | IR stint could be good for Titus Young     Thu Dec 6, 09:52 AM

Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson said he hopes time on Injured Reserve will help WR Titus Young (knee) mature. Aside from lining up incorrectly, running wrong routes, arguing with coaches and sulking during games, Young was also frequently late for meetings. Things were getting tense in the locker room between Young and the leaders of the team. 'I haven't talked to Titus and I haven't talked to the coaches about specifically what's going on with him. You just hope that a young talent like this gets a chance to show his ability, because this league is the N.F.L. - Not For Long,' Burleson said. 'If you don't take advantage of opportunities, sometimes it's tough to get chances.'

Footballguys view: Young's dynasty stock has certainly taken a hit with these maturity issues. There's a chance he's played his final game with the Lions. If he does stay with the team and grows up over the offseason we still believe in his talent. He's a buy low candidate in dynasty leagues so long as the price is very low to offset the risk.

Also, the team released S Erik Coleman, WR Kris Durham was promoted to the active roster from the practice squad and signed free-agent S Tyrell Johnson (Vikings) and WR Troy Burrell (Lions) to the practice squad.

What we can control is the guys who want to be here. I want people who want to be here and I think everybody else wants the same thing ... If you don't want to be here, then leave.'

All three are expected to see an increase in playing time with WR Titus Young to be inactive in Week 12 due to disciplinary reasons.

Lions | Titus Young lined up in wrong spots    Tue Nov 20, 07:30 PM

Detroit Lions WR Titus Young reportedly lined up in the wrong spots several times in the team's Week 11 loss, which prompted head coach Jim Schwartz to bench Young on the final three plays of their last drive in the game.
