New York Jets QB Zach Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos for a 2024 sixth-round pick in the NFL draft, according to sources Monday, April 22. The Jets also are sending a 2024 seventh-round pick along with Wilson and are expected to pay some of his $5.5 million salary.

As NFL.com notes, because of that divorce, Denver doesn't have the budget to spend on a confirmed starter at quarterback, leading the Broncos to take a flier on adding Zach Wilson to a quarterbacks room that includes Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci. There's one year left on his rookie contract, and Wilson has an $11 million cap hit in 2024 with $11 million in dead money. He was supposed to be the backup this year, but with Aaron Rodgers going down in Week 1 we saw Wilson start 11 games for the Jets. More importantly in fantasy leagues, Wilson's high level of play topped out Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall's values today and gave us confidence to play them against the Dolphins next week. |
