Dolphins | Albert Wilson aiming for Week 1    Sun Jun 9, 01:58 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip), who missed nine games of the 2018 season and all of the current offseason with a hip injury said Friday, June 7, 'there's no reason why I shouldn't be out there Week 1.'

Footballguys view: Wilson could be a nice sleeper with a reassuring summer that demonstrates chemistry with his new quarterbacks. He was breaking out before getting hurt last year and could lead the team in targets this year.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson missed entire offseason    Sat Jun 8, 01:50 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) did not participate in any offseason workouts or minicamps because he is still recovering from a hip injury.

Footballguys view: Wilson made it through seven games last year for the Dolphins. This hip injury was not supposed to keep him out of offseason work. Now, it has, and there seems to be some problem in his recovery. We'll have to see if the veteran will be ready for training camp later this summer.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson misses practice    Wed May 15, 02:49 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) did not participate in practice Tuesday, May 14, because he is still recovering from a hip injury.

Footballguys view: Wilson made it through seven games last year for the Dolphins before this hip injury landed him on Injured Reserve. He didn't require surgery but is still recovering with an eye on returning for training camp.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson has coach excited    Tue Feb 19, 01:19 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is one of the best bets to remain with the team out of a wide receiver contingent that appears headed for upheaval, and new position coach Karl Dorrell has quickly become a fan. 'He was pretty dynamic wasn't he?' Dorrell said recently of Wilson. 'He's a very unique player. I'm really excited about him. .... I hear he's doing a really good job with the recovery process but you could tell when he was on the field, he had a number of ways to affect the defense and to make the defense really pay attention to where he is and things like that.'

Footballguys view: We'd be more excited about Wilson's fantasy upside in 2019 if we knew who the quarterback for the Dolphins is going to be this season. The team is expected to move on from Ryan Tannehill in 2019 with an eye on one of the quarterbacks coming out in 2020.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson injury update    Wed Jan 23, 01:52 AM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) is on schedule with his recovery from an October hip injury that landed him on IR and could be at full speed when the team's offseason workout program begins in April.

Footballguys view: Wilson was put on Injured Reserve back in Week 8. He's under contract through the 2020 season and has a cap hit of $8.3 million in 2019 with $9.6 million remaining in dead money.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson placed on IR    Wed Oct 24, 03:22 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) was officially placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Footballguys view: Wilson is now done for the season as the Dolphins have already designated two players to return from IR. Signed through 2020, Wilson doesn't need surgery to repair his hip and should be ready for action at some point next offseason.

Dolphins | No surgery for Albert Wilson    Tue Oct 23, 06:32 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) won't need surgery on his injured hip, but he is expected to be placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: Good news for Wilson but he's still going to miss plenty of time. On Injured Reserve, Wilson would have to miss at least eight weeks of action. At the midway point of the season, that means the Dolphins would likely be without him for the remainder of 2018. They'll turn to more of Danny Amendola, Jakeem Grant and DeVante Parker (unless/until he's traded) while Wilson is out.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson going to IR?    Mon Oct 22, 04:01 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) has a 'high probability' of going on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Footballguys view: That move would put the veteran receiver out of action for a minimum of eight weeks. Wilson suffered a labrum injury in Week 7 and will visit a specialist, as noted earlier.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson injury update    Mon Oct 22, 01:44 PM

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is scheduled to visit a hip specialist to get a timeline on the labrum injury he suffered in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions.

Footballguys view: The expectation is Wilson will miss multiple games, but his prognosis for the remainder of the season has yet to be determined. Wilson's agent earlier suggested his client suffered a 'significant' injury versus the Lions. It's bad timing for Wilson who was showing strong chemistry with QB Brock Osweiler over the last two weeks. We'll know more about his status after he visits the hip specialist.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson could miss season    Mon Oct 22, 01:06 AM

Updating previous reports, Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (hip) will likely miss at least a few weeks and could be done for the season with what Wilson's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, branded a 'significant' injury.

Footballguys view: Wilson had been showing strong chemistry with Brock Osweiler before this injury. The Dolphins are now incredibly thin at the wide receiver position. Kenny Stills is also banged up. The Dolphins now turn to Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant (and DeVante Parker if they don't trade him) at the position. They do have three wide receivers on their practice squad if they want to activate someone for more depth.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson suffers injury    Sun Oct 21, 01:54 PM

Dolphins | Albert Wilson has giant day in Week 6    Sun Oct 14, 07:19 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson finished with six receptions for 155 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears.

Footballguys view: Wilson has had some quiet weeks, but his two big games have been about as good as any wide receiver games this season. He'll be a consideration as a flex play in any given week on the strength of these big performances.

Dolphins | Week 6 injury report for Miami    Fri Oct 12, 03:37 PM

Miami Dolphins DE Cameron Wake (knee) did not participate in practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Week 6 versus the Chicago Bears. TE A.J. Derby (foot), CB Bobby McCain (knee) and QB Ryan Tannehill (shoulder) were limited in practice Friday, Oct. 12, and are listed as questionable. LB Chase Allen (foot), DE Andre Branch (knee), WR Jakeem Grant (shoulder), DE Charles Harris (calf), S T.J. McDonald (foot), WR DeVante Parker (quad) and OT Laremy Tunsil (concussion) practiced in full Friday but are listed as questionable. WR Danny Amendola (non-injury), RB Frank Gore (non-injury), S Reshad Jones (shoulder), DE Robert Quinn (non-injury), TE Durham Smythe (ankle) and WR Albert Wilson (abdomen) also practiced in full Friday and were removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Tannehill is expected to play, but his condition isn't likely to get better against the Bears pass rush this weekend. The Dolphins offense is flatlining right now.

Dolphins | Two Dolphins to see more snaps    Wed Sep 5, 09:13 AM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson and WR Jakeem Grant are likely to see more snaps in Week 1 with WR DeVante Parker (finger) out.

Footballguys view: Wilson and Grant will still be behind Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola in the pecking order. We weren't counting on Parker to breakout in 2018, so his absence shouldn't be overly impactful.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson to be used at RB?    Tue Aug 7, 07:48 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson said he could be used in many different ways this season, including being lined up in the backfield.

Footballguys view: Wilson is currently third or fourth in the pecking order at the wide receiver position. The veteran is great after the catch and it just makes sense to get him the ball in multiple ways. Wilson is not much of a fantasy asset at this point but if someone like Danny Amendola gets banged up on the depth chart in front of him, he might get some deep flex appeal. Keep him on your waiver wire speed dial in deep leagues.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson not a slot option    Mon Jul 30, 12:09 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is an outside receiver and will not be an option for the slot receiver job, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Footballguys view: This really sinks his value for 2018 in redraft leagues and puts Danny Amendola firmly on our PPR late-round radar. It's not even clear that Wilson is a hold in dynasty leagues right now.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson's role undefined    Fri Jul 27, 09:21 AM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson did most of his work with the second-team offense Thursday, July 26. Wilson received a three-year, $24 million deal in the offseason, and his role is undefined. However, he has to have more of a role than to be insurance or a backup at that price, in the opinion of beat writer Armando Salguero.

Footballguys view: Danny Amendola has been much more prominent early in camp, and he might end up being the better late round pick in deep PPR leagues, but the team will still split the slot role in some fashion, making neither a great late round gamble.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson's speed standing out    Sun Jun 24, 10:32 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson's speed has been 'hard to ignore,' according to head coach Adam Gase. 'He's a guy that can take a throw behind the line of scrimmage and he can create a 70-yard touchdown,' Gase said.

Footballguys view: Wilson's game with the Chiefs was all about speed, and he was certainly a favorite target of QB Alex Smith. Moving to the Dolphins in free agency, Wilson is trying to make a positive impression on his new QB Ryan Tannehill. Wilson is competing with WR Danny Amendola for third on the depth chart behind Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker.

Dolphins | Miami getting creative with Albert Wilson    Fri Jun 1, 02:17 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson has reportedly been so impressive in early offseason practices that the team has decided he can be lined up not only in the slot, but also on the boundary and in the backfield.

Footballguys view: Keep an eye on Wilson's progress with his new team as the offseason rolls on. Wilson should make for a favorite target of QB Ryan Tannehill. Right now, Wilson is going undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson moving around    Wed May 23, 09:10 PM

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson said he has lined up as an outside receiver as well as a slot receiver during organized team activities.

Footballguys view: We'd feel a bit better about Wilson this year if he wasn't competing with Danny Amendola for the no.3 WR spot behind DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills. Not a lot of fantasy value here, especially with Ryan Tannehill coming back from injury to start at quarterback.

Dolphins | Two Dolphins WRs may return punts    Mon May 14, 01:08 PM

Miami Dolphins WRs Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson will be candidates to return punts this upcoming season, according to special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi.

Footballguys view: Watch this competition if you play in a league that rewards points for return yards. Either option would be good players for the Dolphins in that role.

Chiefs | Kansas City wants Albert Wilson back    Fri Mar 9, 09:38 PM

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said he would be 'super-excited' to re-sign impending free-agent WR Albert Wilson.

Footballguys view: Wilson is a fan favorite...and he's certainly a favorite of the coaching staff. We should see a deal done early in the process as Wilson isn't going to break the bank with his new deal and there's unlikely to be a ton of teams lining up for his services.

Bears | Albert Wilson of interest to Bears?    Thu Mar 1, 01:43 PM

Kansas City Chiefs impending free-agent WR Albert Wilson could very well be signed by the Chicago Bears during free agency, according to Chiefs general manager Brett Veach. Former Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is the new head coach of the Bears.

Footballguys view: This will be interesting. Wilson seemed to improve overall this year and had a few nice games, but losing him shouldn't be all that tragic. And the Bears have nobody to speak of at the position. That includes the always injured Kevin White. On the other hand, Pat Mahomes seemed to really jibe with Wilson in Week 17, so the Chiefs will at least try to keep him around.

Chiefs | Week 17 game recap for Chiefs    Sun Dec 31, 08:49 PM

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes completed 22-of-35 passes for 284 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in his first NFL start in Week 17 against the Denver Broncos. RB Anthony Sherman ran 14 times for a team-high 40 yards and a touchdown, while RB Kareem Hunt rushed for a 35-yard touchdown on his only carry. WR Albert Wilson racked up 147 yards on 10 catches while TE Demetrius Harris posted 73 yards on his three receptions.

Footballguys view: Hunt won the rushing title as a rookie with the carry. The Chiefs offense has turned it around after a midseason slump and they should be a heavy favorite against the Titans next week.
