Jaguars | Williamson placed on IR Wed Sep 23, 02:21 PM
CBSSports.com reports the Jacksonville Jaguars have placed WR Troy Williamson (shoulder) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2009 season.
| Our view: After having a breakthrough preseason Williamson had a disappointing start to the regular season, and then hurt his shoulder. |

Jaguars | Williamson to undergo surgery Friday Mon Sep 21, 11:08 PM
Updating an ongoing story, Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson (shoulder) will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum Friday, Sept. 25, according to a league source. Williamson is likely done for the rest of the season.
| Our view: This is truly an "adds injury to insult" situation, as Williamson got hurt trying to recover a ball he fumbled. |

Jaguars | Del Rio said Williamson not out for season at this time Mon Sep 21, 05:39 PM
Updating a previous report, Michael C. Wright, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said he has not gotten any information that WR Troy Williamson (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season. He said he has not seen any of Williamson's tests at this time.

Jaguars | T. Williamson out for the year Mon Sep 21, 03:55 PM
Michael C. Wright, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson (shoulder) will miss the rest of the year with a torn labrum in his shoulder.
| Our view: Williamson had been a disappointment during the regular season, after being a preseason star. The Jaguars have unproven talent in their wide receiver corps, and should not miss Williamson that much. |

Jaguars | Cox, Williamson injured Week 2 Sun Sep 20, 06:57 PM
The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars CB Derek Cox (concussion) and WR Troy Williamson (shoulder) left the team's Week 2 game and did not return.
| Our view: The extent of Williamson's injury is unknown, but Mike Sims-Walker may have earned himself more rotational time with his play in the second half. |

Jaguars | Williamson to start Week 1 Thu Sep 10, 03:19 AM
Continuing previous reports, Michael C. Wright, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson is listed as the starting receiver opposite WR Torry Holt for Week 1. He led the league with 267 yards receiving during the preseason.
| Our view: Troy Williamson had a fantastic preseason, and if he can maintain that momentum in the regular season he could lead all Jags receivers in fantasy points scored at the end of the season. Williamson has speed to burn, and could become the Jags big play threat when they need to make plays downfield. |

Jaguars | Three receivers see time with first team Monday Mon Sep 7, 12:11 PM
CBSSports.com reports Jacksonville Jaguars WRs Torry Holt, Troy Williamson and Nate Hughes received reps with the first-team offense during practice Monday, Sept. 7.
| Our view: With all the hoopla around the resurrection of Troy Williamson's career and the talented trio of rookie wide receivers from the Jags draft, Hughes emergence has gotten lost in the shuffle. He might be worth an addition in deep dynasty leagues if Mike Sims-Walker can't stay healthy once again this year. |

Jaguars | Williamson takes over as starter Tue Sep 1, 02:21 PM
Vito Stellino, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Sims-Walker (ankle) is no longer in the starting lineup, as he has lost the starting job to veteran WR Troy Williamson, who emerged as a big-play threat during Sims-Walker's absence.
| Our view: What a tremendous turnaround for Troy Williamson! He came over last year from the Vikings, but was injured and many expected him to be on the roster bubble at the start of training camp. Williamson has stayed healthy so far this year, and has become a consistent target for QB David Garrard. |

Jaguars | T. Williamson standing out in preseason games Sun Aug 23, 03:32 PM
The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson is motivated to snag a starting gig with the Jaguars this year. He hauled in a 74-yard touchdown pass on the first play for the Jaguars Saturday, Aug. 22, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and finished the game with three catches, one score and 147 yards receiving. Last week he had a 74-yard performance against the Miami Dolphins.
| Our view: Williamson's talent has never been a question. Injuries to Mike Walker and Mike Thomas, and the dropsies from Jarett Dillard have opened a great opportunity for Williamson, and as of right now, he looks poised to seize it. We wouldn't draft him, even in deep leagues, but we would definitely pick him up in deep dynasty leagues, just in case the former #7 overall pick finally has it figured out. |

Jaguars | Williamson standing out Thu Aug 20, 11:31 AM
Michael C. Wright, from the Florida Times-Union, reports Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio pointed out Troy Williamson as one of the club's most surprising players, not just against Miami, but for the entire training camp. "I told you one of the bright spots coming out of the game Monday night - and it's no different looking at the tape - is Troy and Nate [Hughes] and their ability to separate and catch the ball. Troy's done a nice job, had a nice camp," Del Rio said.
| Our view: Troy Williamson looked really good in the Jags preseason game versus the Dolphins. He was able to get open along the sidelines with his speed, and hauled in a nice over-the-shoulder catch from QB Todd Bouman. With Mike Walker banged up (again), Williamson has taken advantage of the opportunity. If he continues to perform like this, we could see him in the starting lineup opposite Torry Holt. |

Jaguars | Williamson listed as starter on first depth chart Wed Aug 12, 01:28 PM
Vito Stellino, of the Florida Times-Union, reports that WR Troy Williamson is listed with the first team at WR on the Jaguars initial depth chart of training camp because Mike Walker is out with a lower leg injury.
| Our view: We don't put too much stock in early preseason depth charts, but this does at least demonstrate that Williamson is ahead of the rookie trio of wide receivers at this point. |

Jaguars | Staying healthy is key for Williamson Thu Jun 11, 03:12 AM
Vito Stellino, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said he thinks the key for WR Troy Williamson is staying healthy so he can have a chance to display his skill and athleticism. 'He should be able to get some things done if he can stay on the football field for us,' Del Rio said.
| Our view: Williamson also has to do a better job catching the football. He even acknowledged he makes the easy catches look harder than what they are supposed to be. Williamson is in a battle for a roster spot due to offseason additions to the receiver position for the Jaguars. |

Jaguars | Williamson has been impressing during OTAs Wed Jun 10, 09:46 AM
Vito Stellino, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson has had a strong showing during organized activities this week.
| Our view: 'Troy's done well,'' head coach Jack Del Rio said. 'He's done a nice job of competing.'' TE coach Mike Tice indicated that Williamson needs to win some contested balls to secure a place on the team, which will be difficult with the addition of Torry Holt, and three rookie receivers taken in the draft. |

Jaguars | Williamson excused from practice Thursday Thu Jun 4, 06:34 PM
Vic Ketchman, of Jaguars.com, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson was excused from practice Thursday, June 4, because of a personal matter.

Jaguars | Williamson misses practice Tuesday Tue Jun 2, 04:46 PM
Vic Ketchman, of Jaguars.com, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Troy Williamson did not participate in practice Tuesday, June 2.
| Our view: Head coach Jack Del Rio would not comment on why Williamson did not practice. Williamson is currently listed as 6th on the depth chart behind Torry Holt, Mike Walker, Dennis Northcutt, Mike Thomas, and Jarett Dillard. It's very possible we could see Williamson cut in training camp. |

Jaguars | Jockeying for position at wide receiver Fri May 1, 01:38 PM
Michael C. Wright, of The Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars rookie WRs Mike Thomas and Jarett Dillard will compete for playing time in the slot. Rookie WR Tiquan Underwood will work on the outside as a reserve, while WRs Troy Williamson and D'Juan Woods also factor into the mix.
| Our view: Mike Thomas and Jarett Dillard will have a heated battle in training camp for that slot position. Dillard has amazing leaping ability and soft hands, Thomas is quick off the line and has great run after the catch ability. The Jags could find that both of these young WRs need to be on the field at the same time. |
