Dolphins | Stephen Williams has chances Tue Jun 3, 08:23 AM
The Miami Dolphins have given WR Stephen Williams a lot of repetitions because they like his size. However, he dropped a short, easy catch and is unlikely to make the team.
Footballguys view: Williams has always been a tease. He's got an intriguing size/speed combination, but Williams has been plagued by inconsistency as a pro. If he wants to make the team, then he needs to haul in any catch he possibly can. |

Dolphins | Add Stephen Williams Thu May 15, 05:38 PM
The Miami Dolphins signed WR Stephen Williams (Jaguars) Thursday, May 15 to an undisclosed contract.
Footballguys view: Williams has bounced around the league after being an undrafted free agent in 2010. He's a camp body for the Dolphins and that's about it. |

Jaguars | Six released Mon May 12, 12:26 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars released OG Will Rackley, RB Delone Carter, RB Shaun Chapas, WR Jeremy Ebert, DT Drake Nevis and WR Stephen Williams Monday, May 12.
Footballguys view: With the new draft class (and undrafted free agents) added, several teams will be trimming their roster today. We might see some of these guys resurface somewhere else. A guy like Jeremy Ebert could wind up back in New England to get another chance. |

Jaguars | Have high hopes for Stephen Burton Tue Nov 5, 02:31 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars coaching staff likes what they have in WR Stephen Burton, and they foresee him stepping up now that WR Justin Blackmon is suspended for the remainder of the season. 'This young man has some potential,' head coach Gus Bradley said. 'We're going to try to speed it up and get him to where we can trust him, the quarterbacks can trust him and his teammates trust him. He's done a better job. Maybe a situation like this will light a fuse for him where he sees this opportunity and now we'll capture it. We'll see.'
Footballguys view: Burton is an interesting prospect to watch in super deep dynasty leagues. In college at West Texas A&M Burton was able to find soft spots in the zone and would regularly present the biggest target for his quarterback to throw to. He's not a precise route runner and may struggle to gain separation on his routes. |

Jaguars | Stephen Williams claimed Mon Oct 7, 04:42 PM
The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed WR Stephen Williams off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks.

Seahawks | Stephen Williams impresses Fri Aug 9, 02:10 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Stephen Williams posted two receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in the preseason opener Thursday, Aug. 8, against the San Diego Chargers. Williams drew praise from head coach Pete Carroll.
Footballguys view: This guy is an exciting prospect for fantasy owners in deep leagues to consider. Williams has a good size/speed combination and has a knack for making difficult catches seem routine. He's been standing out in camp so it makes sense that he would shine in the Seahawks first preseason game. |

Seahawks | Stephen Williams turning heads Sun Jul 28, 10:55 PM
Seattle Seahawks WR Stephen Williams has been turning heads during the early going in training camp, and is a big target who could potentially help out if WR Percy Harvin (hip) is sidelined. 'He's been very intriguing these first four days (of camp),' head coach Pete Carroll said Sunday, July 28. 'He gives you another big-guy presence, and I've always liked having guys like that. I kind of have a good eye for guys like that, and we're always looking at guys with different dimensions. So we're excited about him.'
Footballguys view: Williams originally caught on with the Cardinals, but was squeezed out of a spot by UDFA LaRon Byrd. Williams is very agile for a long-limbed receiver and could be a similar sort of player to Seahawk receiver Sidney Rice in the pass offense. |

Seahawks | Battle to be heated for fifth WR job Tue Jul 23, 11:59 AM
Seattle Seahawks WRs Doug Baldwin, Percy Harvin, Sidney Rice and Golden Tate are expected to be the top four wide receivers. Unless an injury or two occurs, that leaves WRs Phil Bates, Arceto Clark, Chris Harper, Greg Herd Jermaine Kearse, Brett Swain, Justin Veltung, Bryan Walters and Stephen Williams to battle it out for the fifth, and perhaps sixth, receiver job(s). The team kept five receivers last season, but could elect to keep six. Walters reportedly had a strong offseason working in the slot.
Footballguys view: Keep your eye on Harper here. The rookie from Kansas State has drawn comparisons to Anquan Boldin (49ers) because of his size, hands, and run after the catch ability. |

The Seattle Seahawks signed WR Stephen Williams (Cardinals) to a reserve/future contract Monday, Jan. 7.

Cardinals | Two may have edge for No. 5, No.6 WR spots Thu Jul 19, 02:31 PM
Arizona Cardinals WRs Stephen Williams and DeMarco Sampson may be the favorites for the No. 5 and No. 6 wide receiver spots in the roster. The team will also want those two positions to play on special teams.

Cardinals | Two WRs could move up depth chart Fri Jun 10, 04:07 PM
Arizona Cardinals WRs Andre Roberts and Stephen Williams have a chance to compete for the No. 2 and No. 3 wide receiver positions during training camp. Roberts has been one of the most impressive players during player-organized workouts.
Footballguys view: Roberts really came on at the end of 2010 after struggling with drops earlier in the year. He could easily pass Early Doucet if Doucet continues to spend time on the trainer's table. Williams was a surprise as an undrafted free agent, but his development seemed to level off in the second half of the season. |
