Seahawks | R. Williams signed    Fri Apr 16, 12:08 PM

Eric Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed unrestricted free-agent WR Reggie Williams (Jaguars). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: First, former Trojans WR (and first-round bust) Mike Williams was signed and now this. Both receivers were brought in on a tryout basis and must have impressed head coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks have a serious need at the WR position, so there's a chance for Williams to make the final roster. However, we expect the Seahawks to add more wideouts in the 2010 NFL Draft which will mean more competition for the veteran who is trying to get his career back on track after being out of football in 2009.

Seahawks | R. Williams to take part in minicamp    Fri Apr 9, 12:28 PM

Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports unrestricted free-agent WR Reggie Williams (Jaguars) will take part in the Seattle Seahawks' upcoming minicamp on a tryout basis, according to ESPN's John Clayton.

Footballguys view: Williams played college football for the Washington Huskies, and has a lot to prove after spending last season out of football. The Seahawks new head coach Pete Carroll admired Williams when both were in the PAC-10, and Seattle has nothing to lose by bringing in the former first-round pick for a look.

NFL | R. Williams' suspension lifted    Mon Sep 21, 06:37 PM

Adam Schefter, of ESPN, reports NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has lifted the two-game suspension of unrestricted free-agent WR Reggie Williams (Jaguars). He is eligible to play if a team signs him.

Footballguys view: ...if a team signs him. With enough WR injuries around the league, he may get a call eventually, but we still think former teammate Matt Jones deserves a shot before Williams does.
