Panthers | DeAngelo Williams now open to joining CAR Mon Jul 17, 07:30 PM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) indicated he is now willing to re-sign with the Carolina Panthers since they fired general manager Dave Gettleman.
Footballguys view: Williams has a list of teams that he won't play for...even though he's garnered no interest on the open market. With Gettleman fired, Williams would once again play for the Panthers...pretty please...with sugar on it. |

NFL | DeAngelo Williams healthy Wed Jul 12, 05:32 PM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) missed nine games this past season because of a knee injury but said he is completely healthy.
Footballguys view: Williams wants to sign on with a team for the 2017 season, and he might get some interest when injuries hit in training camp. He's drawn zero interest on the open market so far this offseason. |

NFL | DeAngelo Williams won't play for four teams Wed Jul 12, 09:44 AM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) said the Carolina Panthers, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys are four teams he wouldn't be interested in playing for.
Footballguys view: His split with the Panthers was rough, so he's not going back there. He doesn't want to play in Dallas because he grew up a 49ers fan. The Browns are pretty much self explanatory and the Jaguars are better than Cleveland but not enough for Williams to want to play there. He's gotten zero interest on the open market to this point, and Williams might only get interest when injuries strike in training camp. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams open to PIT return Wed Jul 5, 07:51 PM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) said he is open to re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Footballguys view: Williams will happily go where he gets an offer, maybe even back for another WWE engagement in the squared circle. When not wrestling, Williams still looks like a guy who has a little left in the tank. However, whether with the Steelers or elsewhere, his fantasy impact will probably be low. He's a backup, and that means more than anything his value would be as a handcuff. |

NFL | DeAngelo Williams still wants to play Wed Jul 5, 09:10 AM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) said he's waiting on a phone call from an interested team to continue his playing career.
Footballguys view: Once someone gets hurt, he may hear his phone ring, but unless he drops into a perfect situation - which he had to an extent from a fantasy standpoint when he backed up a suspended Le'Veon Bell - his fantasy value will be a bit shaky. He did look a step closer last season when he played, so age and ability are also a concern. |

NFL | DeAngelo Williams not playing football Fri Jun 9, 12:25 PM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) is expected to put his NFL career on hold and join Impact Wrestling.
Footballguys view: At 34 years old, no team was interested in signing Williams. He's turning the page and going on to the next part of his career. Football to wrestling has been a pipeline for multiple guys, all with varying degrees of success. We can't say we'll be glued to the TV when Williams is on Impact Wrestling, but good luck to him in his future endeavors. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams could still re-join PIT Thu Mar 23, 07:43 PM
Free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams (Steelers) could still re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers despite the team recently adding RB Knile Davis, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Williams has managed to dodge Father Time the last few seasons and proven to be a very nice backup to LeVeon Bell. But Bell won't start the season suspended this year and so it's unlikely that Williams or Davis will have much value this year as more than a handcuff. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams not expected back Sun Jan 29, 01:46 PM
Impending free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams is unlikely to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette.
Footballguys view: Williams isn't quite done yet, and he's still got something left in the tank....albeit as a reserve running back. He should draw some interest on the open market for a team in need of quality veteran depth. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams to be UFA Sat Jan 28, 03:59 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams will be an unrestricted free agent Thursday, March 9, at 4 p.m. EST.
Footballguys view: He may be the oldest RB in the league at age 33, but Williams still can contribute at the pro level. Williams had 58 carries the first two weeks of the season (for 237 yards) filling in for a suspended Le'Veon Bell. He could sign a one-year deal with a team looking for a quality veteran backup. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams bottled up Sun Jan 22, 09:57 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams rushed 14 times for 34 yards and a touchdown filling in for an injured RB Le'Veon Bell (groin) on Sunday, Jan. 22, against the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
Footballguys view: The Patriots did a good job of shutting down the Steelers rushing attack...whether it was Bell or Williams. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams sits out Wed Jan 4, 04:13 PM

Steelers | Fitzgerald Toussaint to see solid work Sat Dec 31, 12:50 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Fitzgerald Toussaint is expected to receive a solid amount of playing time against the Cleveland Browns in Week 17. RB DeAngelo Williams is also expected to receive carries during the game.
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners need to proceed with caution here. If Williams got most of the work against the Browns, he could post RB1 numbers....but he's not going to get that workload. If Toussaint gets most of the work against the Browns, we'd trust him more as a flex player...but it sounds like Williams will cut into his workload. This is yet another reason why Week 17 championships are bunk. |

Steelers | DeAngelo Williams may be used often Thu Dec 29, 01:35 PM
Pittsburgh Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams may receive a solid amount of playing time in Week 17 because he missed several weeks with a knee injury, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler.
Footballguys view: Williams should be a solid start, but we're not sure if he will split time with Fitzgerald Toussaint. As that is the case, we are avoiding both unless there is clarity in the next few days. |
