New York Giants RB Peyton Hillis played 31 snaps in the team's Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles because the coaching staff doesn't yet trust RB Andre Williams on passing downs. Williams and Hillis are expected to share the workload in the backfield without RB Rashad Jennings (knee) again in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.
| Footballguys view: Williams is not a good pass blocker and that's all there is to it. That's why the team missed Rashad Jennings so much--he allows them to have more versatility. We still see Williams as a decent RB2 as he'll get most of the carries, but if the Cowboys get an early lead and the Giants have to throw, Williams will be on the sideline anytime the team needs to pass and that will limit his upside. |
