Broncos | GM Xanders mum on free agent RBs    Mon Jul 11, 10:43 AM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer at Footballguys.com, reports via Twitter that in a recent interview on 102.3 The Ticket Broncos GM Brian Xanders would not elaborate on any plans to bring in a RB via free agency. He only stated there would be competition at the position.

Footballguys view: The Broncos at least need to add depth behind Knowshon Moreno, but could be looking to essentially replace him with a guy like DeAngelo Williams. We feel the Broncos will bring in a couple of undrafted free agents like Derrick Locke and Mario Fannin. Both were at Dove Valley before the draft to work out for the coaches. Veteran free agents they could add include Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw, or Jason Snelling. The team would also be interested in Willis McGahee if the Ravens release him.

Broncos | RB White's mindset improved?    Sat Jul 9, 06:09 PM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer at Footballguys.com, reports via Twitter that he's heard good things about Broncos RB LenDale White's recovery from an Achilles' injury and his mindset.

Footballguys view: If healthy White could help out the Broncos ground game and help cure their short yardage woes. It's good to hear that his mind is in the right place as he tries to make an impact for his hometown team.

Broncos | LenDale White needs to show progress from injury    Sat Jun 11, 04:00 PM

Denver Broncos RB LenDale White (Achilles') will have to show the team that he has made progress from the Achilles' tendon injury he suffered before the 2010 season if he wants to be in the their plans this season.

Footballguys view: There's little hope for White to ever be a relevant NFL running back again after his achilles tear. It sounds like the new regime has a "show me" attitude towards White, which is never good for a player with his questionable past.

Broncos | RB White back to running after Achilles' injury    Fri May 13, 06:13 PM

Lindsay Jones, from the Denver Post, reports via Twitter that RB LenDale White is back to running eight months after surgery to repair a torn Achilles'. After a recent workout with teammates he commented on how he felt great, but is not doing explosive drills yet.

Footballguys view: It's extremely rare when a running back comes back to form after an Achilles' injury. So far there have been positive reports about White's confidence, focus, and recovery in Denver. However, Broncos fans should expect little from the big back in 2011. We'll see if he can earn a roster spot under new head coach John Fox.

Broncos | LenDale White to miss season    Fri Sep 3, 12:34 PM

Denver Broncos RB LenDale White (Achilles') will miss the entire 2010 season because of a torn Achilles' tendon, reports Adam Schefter, of ESPN.

Footballguys view: The Broncos brought in LenDale White because of his nose for the end zone as they were hoping to use him in short yardage and goalline situations. Instead, he'll miss the season with an Achilles' injury. We wouldn't be surprised if the Broncos picked up another back via trade or the waiver wire as they set their final 53-man roster.

Broncos | Could sign RB Justin Fargas    Tue Aug 10, 06:10 PM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports the Denver Broncos could sign RB Justin Fargas (Raiders) if he passes a physical. According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter Fargas is flying to Denver tonight and a deal could be coming soon for the veteran back.

Footballguys view: Unlike LenDale White, Fargas could help the team early in the season. Correll Buckhalter has a back/neck injury that he's seeing a specialist for. Knowshon Moreno has a partially torn hamstring injury, and may miss the entire preseason because of it. White was signed last week to help out the RB depth, but he's missed practice time due to cramps and is suspended the first four games of the season for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Broncos | LenDale White misses practice Saturday    Sun Aug 8, 03:29 AM

Denver Broncos RB LenDale White (undisclosed) did not take part in practice Saturday, Aug. 7, reports Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post.

Broncos | LenDale White has to be on best behavior    Fri Aug 6, 10:03 PM

Denver Broncos RB LenDale White has basically been told by the team's brass that he is on a one-strike-and-you're-out plan, reports Jeff Legwold, of The Denver Post. White, who faces up to a four-game suspension, says he is prepared to make the most of his opportunities in Denver over the next month. If he shows enough during the preseason, the team could put him on their reserve/suspended list when the season begins. He could then be added to the active roster following his suspension.

Footballguys view: We have to think that if White screws this up, he won't get another chance. He just wasn't impressive enough to merit putting up with any trouble to have the right to use his services.

Broncos | RB White helped off the field    Fri Aug 6, 02:06 PM

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer for Footballguys.com, reports RB LenDale White had to be helped off the practice field during Broncos training camp this morning at Dove Valley.

Footballguys view: No word on the nature or severity of this injury. Broncos backs have been dropping like flies over the last week with Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) and Correll Buckhalter (back) getting hurt last week. White just signed with the Broncos and was making some nice runs in camp before this injury.

Broncos | LenDale White signed    Wed Aug 4, 07:01 PM

The Denver Broncos have signed unrestricted free-agent RB LenDale White (Seahawks), a source told ProFootballTalk.com. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: This is a perplexing move because White won't be available for the first four weeks of the season, so he can't help if Knowshon Moreno has a slow start because of his hamstring injury. He also doesn't seem to fit into Josh McDaniels commitment to character.

NFL | LenDale White not receiving interest    Mon Jul 26, 10:36 AM

Free-agent RB LenDale White (Seahawks) said during a radio interview with FOX Sports radio that he has not received interest from NFL teams but hopes to continue playing in the league. 'I haven't got any calls. Nobody's called me, but I'm preparing to play in the NFL and that's what I'm going to keep continuing to work on,' White said. 'That's the highest league that we have. I'm not taking any shots or disrespecting any other leagues, but it's the National Football League that everybody wants to play in. I'm preparing to play for a team this year in the NFL.'

Footballguys view: Even when training camp injuries hit White still might not get any phone calls. He's been suspended for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and may have to take his game to another league like the UFL. However, White hasn't got a call from them either.

NFL | LenDale White wants to play in league    Sat Jul 24, 04:23 PM

Unrestricted free-agent RB LenDale White said during a radio interview that he has not received any calls from teams in the NFL but is preparing to play for a team in the NFL this season, according to NFL.com's Alison Garber. White said he has not received calls from teams in the United Football League or Canadian Football League, but he would not be interested in playing in either of those leagues if they did contact him.

Footballguys view: White needs to take a look in the mirror and realize why he was bounced from the Seahawks a month after they traded for him. We're not expecting much from White if he does sign with a team in 2010.

NFL | LenDale White officially suspended    Thu Jul 1, 05:05 PM

The NFL has suspended unrestricted free-agent RB LenDale White (Seahawks) for four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy, reports Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network.

Footballguys view: This is not going to help him catch on with another team. There's been little interest in White since the Seahawks let him go, but training camp injuries could make someone desperate out there.

NFL | LenDale White admits to marijuana use    Thu Jun 17, 11:00 AM

The Sports Network reports running back LenDale White, who was released by the Seahawks last month, admitted to using marijuana. White was acquired by Seattle from Tennessee in late April, but a month later he was released by the Seahawks. In an interview with the Tennessean, White said he blames himself for his current situation in that he's looking for a job in the NFL. Reports indicate White is expecting to get a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy. "I did it, so it is my fault," White told the newspaper. "I smoked marijuana; that is all I have ever done. That's all I do, that's it. I smoke. I don't care about any other drugs, but it's marijuana. But I have changed. I am a good man. Unfortunately the stuff that I did in my recent past caught up to me in the present and it's affecting my future."

Footballguys view: Smoking tree at every waking moment is not a good way to get ahead in your career. LenDale White's 'wake and bake' program caused him to get booted by two teams so far this offseason. We'll see if anyone will take a chance on White at this point, but he may find himself with no other choice but to play in the UFL.

Seahawks | Poor work ethic led to LenDale White's release    Sat May 29, 10:01 AM

The Seattle Seahawks released free-agent RB LenDale White (Seahawks) Friday, May 28, because his effort level 'stood out like a sore thumb' compared to other players on the roster, a source said, according to Alex Marvez, of FOXSports.com. White's physical conditioning also was poor despite his having lost 45 pounds within the past year. The source added the release was not related to an NFL Network report that White was facing a four-game suspension for failing a drug test. However, the positive test was confirmed, although it remains uncertain whether White failed for a recreational or performance-enhancing substance.

Footballguys view: White has always had trouble staying properly motivated. Some thought that reuniting with his college head coach would spark a fire under White to play better, but in the end he couldn't even make it to training camp. A team like the Bengals may give him a shot, but he's running out of chances to stay in the NFL.

Seahawks | Could have interest in Marshawn Lynch    Sat May 29, 09:46 AM

The Seattle Seahawks could have interest in Buffalo Bills RB Marshawn Lynch after the team released RB LenDale White, according to Allen Wilson, of The Buffalo News.

NFL | LenDale White facing suspension     Fri May 28, 06:13 PM

Free-agent RB LenDale White (Seahawks) is likely facing a four-game drug suspension from the NFL, sources told NFL Network's Jason La Canfora.

Footballguys view: This could be the last we hear of White. There's just no reason for a team to take a chance on him until after the suspension is over, and should we really trust White to stay in shape while he is away from the game?

Seahawks | LenDale White expected to be released    Fri May 28, 04:29 PM

The Seattle Seahawks are expected to release RB LenDale White Friday, May 28, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times. The team's official site put up a press release that stated White had been waived, but it was quickly taken down. Indications are that the press release is not a mistake and that White will be released.

Footballguys view: This should come as no surprise to anyone that watched White play the last three years. He had little game to begin with, the Seahawks gave up next to nothing to get him, and they weren't going tolerate any lack of commitment from White, which has been his problem all along. Chalk another one up to talent torpedoed by lack of work ethic.

Seahawks | Running back competition could last all training camp    Tue May 25, 10:51 AM

The Seattle Seahawks' running back battle will be interesting to watch and could last until the end of training camp, according to CBSSports.com. Between RBs Julius Jones, Justin Forsett, LenDale White and Leon Washington, the Seahawks will have some decisions to make.

Footballguys view: Julius Jones is likely the low man on the totem pole in this competition. LenDale White came over from Tennessee, is in much better shape, and is reunited with his college coach Pete Carroll. Leon Washington gets a fresh start after an up and down career with the Jets. He's coming off a major leg injury and will have to prove that he can be more than just a change of pace back. Justin Forsett is an instinctive runner who is a good receiver out of the backfield. The situation is cramped right now, and could end up being a three-headed RBBC with Forsett getting some carries, Washington getting most receptions, and White featured as the goalline back.

Seahawks | LenDale White likely to add weight before season    Mon May 24, 05:49 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB LenDale White currently weighs 219 pounds but plans to play at 228 pounds this season, which means he likely will add some weight before the start of the season, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times.

Footballguys view: LenDale White has battled weight issues before, but seems to be in the best shape of his career. Some fantasy owners believe that he could have a career year in 2010 because he's been reunited with his college coach Pete Carroll. However, the Seahawks have a jam packed backfield with Leon Washington, Julius Jones, and Justin Forsett. White has a lot of competition for carries, but is the biggest back on the roster and could at least be their goalline back.

Seahawks | LenDale White reports to minicamp in shape    Sat May 1, 04:15 PM

Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he was happy with what kind of shape RB LenDale White was in when he reported for the team's minicamp. 'He looks great,' Carroll said. 'He's 218. I can't remember him ever being that light. I don't think he was that light when we recruited him way back when.'

Footballguys view: LenDale White could get back on track with his college coach Pete Carroll. He ran for over 1,000-yards in 2008, and did so on an injured knee (and a much greater weight). Now that he's slimmed down, he could be even more productive - especially since he's out to prove the doubters wrong. It's that chip on his shoulder that could make White have a career year in 2010.

Titans | LenDale White takes some of the blame for Tennessee exit    Mon Apr 26, 02:35 AM

Seattle Seahawks RB LenDale White said it was nice to be traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Seahawks, reports Jim Wyatt, of The Tennessean. 'It is great to know you are now going somewhere where they want you,' White said. 'Why didn't it work out in Tennessee? I have to blame myself some, I guess. But with that said, it was obviously time for me to move on.' White said he gets another chance to prove himself and felt like he could not become the kind of player he wanted to be with the Titans because of past situations.

Footballguys view: Wow, White actually puts some of the responsibility on how his career has gone on himself? We're curious who else he would blame.
