Bills | WR roles more clearly defined Tue Sep 11, 03:56 PM
With the Buffalo Bills signing RB Johnny White, it more clearly defines the roles of the wide receivers on the roster. With how practices went in the offseason, it appears that WR Donald Jones has the inside track to get the most reps at the slot wide receiver position after the injury to David Nelson (knee) in Week 1.
Footballguys view: Rookie T.J. Graham will work as the Z receiver opposite of Stevie Johnson. We like Graham's speed and fearless nature but his routes and concentration need improvement. |

Bills | Johnny White signs Tue Sep 11, 01:00 PM
The Buffalo Bills signed re-signed RB Johnny White Tuesday, Sept. 11. White ran for 38 yards on 12 carries last year.
Footballguys view: With Fred Jackson out for the next three weeks the team needed more depth behind C.J. Spiller and Tashard Choice. He was a fifth-round pick by the Bills in 2011 and reminds some scouts of a poor man's BenJarvus Green-Ellis. |

Bills | Tashard Choice expected to be No. 3 RB Thu Aug 30, 08:02 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Tashard Choice is expected to win the No. 3 running back job over RB Johnny White.
Footballguys view: Choice played under Chan Gailey in college at Georgia Tech and knows the system like the back of his hand. We like White's size and determined running style but it's not a good sign for his future if he can't beat out Choice. |

Footballguys view: We like the future upside of White, but right now he's behind Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller on the team's depth chart. He's a no-nonsense north and south runner who regularly wins collisions. White also has better initial burst than some give him credit for. |

Bills | Johnny White busy in preseason debut Sun Aug 14, 01:35 AM
Buffalo Bills RB Johnny White saw nine carries in the preseason opener against the Chicago Bears Saturday, Aug. 13, but the rookie totaled just 13 yards.
Footballguys view: White should make the team as the backup to Fred Jackson. He probably won't have value without a Jackson injury, but Jackson is 30, so an impressive preseason would do a lot towards ensuring a bigger role in the future. |

Bills | Two draft picks signed Sat Jul 30, 03:22 PM
The Buffalo Bills have signed fourth-round draft choice SS Da'Norris Searcy and fifth-round draft choice RB Johnny White. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: We like White's ability as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. He's a bigger back who relishes contact and does not back down from a challenge. White gets to top speed in a hurry and has soft hands out of the backfield. He's buried on the depth chart right now but fantasy owners in deep dynasty leagues should snag him. |

Bills | Johnny White not expected to be used on offense much Mon Jul 4, 05:00 PM
Buffalo Bills RB Johnny White is not expected to receive more than four to eight touches per game on offense this season. He could receive some goal line carries as the season wears on. He likely will have several roles on the special team units.
Footballguys view: We like White in deep dynasty leagues, and know that any impact he makes could be a couple of years down the road. White is an impact inside runner, with powerful leg drive and strong determination. He may one day be the power complement to last year's first-round pick C.J. Spiller. |

Bills | Johnny White can be used in several ways Mon May 16, 12:44 PM
The Buffalo Bills drafted RB Johnny White because they like that he can run the ball both inside and outside as well as be a receiver out of the backfield. 'There's a guy that is a very good running back, played a lot of positions, is a physical guy, can block and can catch the ball out of the backfield,' head coach Chan Gailey said. 'He's a good runner both inside, has run the ball outside some. He's 209 pounds, 5'10" and pretty thickly built. He's got good speed, but he's a versatile back. He can do a little bit of everything.'
Footballguys view: White was one of our favorite mid-round RBs in the 2011 NFL Draft. He is an instinctive runner who gets to top speed in a hurry and is difficult to bring down when he builds a head of steam. White can also be used effectively as a receiver out of the backfield. |

Bills | Three straight picks from ACC Sat Apr 30, 09:34 PM
The Buffalo Bills selected three straight picks from the Atlantic Coast Conference Saturday, April 30, landing SS Da'Norris Searcy from North Carolina in the fourth round at No. 100, OL Chris Hairston from Clemson at No. 122 in the fourth round, and RB Johnny White at No. 133 in the fifth round, also from North Carolina. Searcy is a player who can come in and spice up the return game, while Hairston and White look to be solutions down the road at some point.
Footballguys view: Johnny White is a fantastic pick by the Bills. White has a nice blend of power and speed. He can also be used effectively at the goalline and as a receiver out of the backfield. |

Bills | Johnny White could be third-down back Sat Apr 30, 05:06 PM
The Buffalo Bills could use RB Johnny White as a third-down back early in his career and is expected to help the team on special teams initially.
Footballguys view: We love this pick. Some in the scouting community compare White to Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis because of his power and leg drive. White is a good receiver out of the backfield, has a nose for the endzone, and pushes the pile on short-yardage situations. |

NFL | Johnny White takes part in Pro Day Thu Mar 31, 05:38 PM
North Carolina RB Johnny White ran the short shuttle in 4.46 seconds and measured a 9-foot-8 broad jump at his Pro Day Thursday, March 31, according to Gil Brandt, of NFL.com.
Footballguys view: Johnny White is one of our favorite late-round power backs in the 2011 NFL Draft. There are some in the scouting community who compare him to Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He has good power between the tackles and can get to top speed in a hurry. White is currently seen as a sixth-round pick. |

NFL | Johnny White receiving interest Fri Mar 18, 04:19 PM
North Carolina RB Johnny White is scheduled to visit with three teams and take part in private workouts with three other teams, a source told Aaron Wilson, of NationalFootballPost.com.
Footballguys view: White is one of our favorite sleeper running backs in this draft class. He may be a late-round or priority free agent but he has the talent to be productive in the NFL. White reminds many in the scouting community of Patriots RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis. He is a strong inside runner with better burst than some think. He can also help out as a receiver out of the backfield and on special teams. |
