ESPNews reports Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) will be out in Week 11 and likely the two following weeks as well.
| Our view: LeSean McCoy is the starter until further notice. He has a lot more value in PPR leagues, as the Eagles are very pass heavy team. |

Eagles | Doctors expect Westbrook to make full recovery Wed Nov 18, 08:44 PM
The Philadelphia Eagles announced RB Brian Westbrook's (concussion) symptoms have improved significantly over the past three days, according to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center doctors. Westbrook was re-tested Wednesday, Nov. 18, with a battery of neuro-cognitive tests, as well as a comprehensive physical and neurological exam. Westbrook's results were favorable, and Dr. Joseph Marron and Dr. Michael Collins were encouraged by Westbrook's progress. Doctors feel that "he has an excellent prognosis and we expect a full recovery." Doctors added, "We developed a comprehensive physical rehab plan for Brian, and we will repeat the detailed testing in the next two to three weeks."
| Our view: This is great news for Westbrook dynasty owners, because they're not holding a worthless player, but redraft owners may still not see Westbrook active before the end of the fantasy season. |

Eagles | Westbrook's future up in the air? Mon Nov 16, 10:03 AM
Steve Wyche, of NFL.com, reports there is speculation that Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) could be out for a prolonged period of time after suffering a concussion in Week 10. Head coach Andy Reid expressed concern for Westbrook's health following the game. 'I feel bad for Brian. I feel bad for him. It's something that our doctors will look at and be on top of right when we get back,' Reid said. 'In these types of situations, football is secondary. We've got to look at this kid and for his future and make sure everything is OK for him before he gets back out there.'
| Our view: Westbrook could miss the rest of the season, and there is concern his career may be in jeopardy. They drafted LeSean McCoy this year to be the future franchise running back, and so far he's shown flashes of brilliance but no consistency. The football community is really taking concussions more seriously than ever, and Westbrook could be done playing for a long time or perhaps forever. |

Eagles | Westbrook suffers concussion for Week 10 Sun Nov 15, 07:29 PM
Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion) suffered a concussion in the team's Week 10 game.

Eagles | To use rotation at running back in Week 10 Sat Nov 14, 11:05 AM
Don Benevento, of The News Journal, reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said he will rotate RBs Brian Westbrook (concussion) and LeSean McCoy during the team's Week 10 game. 'He'll continue to rotate, and we'll just see how he does,' Reid said of Westbrook. 'I'm not going to just throw him in for the whole game. LeSean McCoy has done a nice job when he's been called on, so that gives us some flexibility.'
| Our view: The Eagles want to bring Westbrook back slowly from this injury, so we may even see Leonard Weaver get a few carries in addition to LeSean McCoy. The matchup is sweet, as the Chargers have given up a lot of yards on the ground, so the potential is there for the Eagles dynamic duo to have a big game. |

Updating a previous item, Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion, ankle) practiced Thursday, Nov. 12, and he intends to play Week 10.

Eagles | Westbrook misses practice Wednesday Wed Nov 11, 03:41 PM
Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook (concussion, ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Eagles | Westbrook's ankle remains an issue Tue Nov 10, 10:06 AM
Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said that RB Brian Westbrook's (ankle) surgically repaired right ankle was bothering him again, and that it was the reason he was held out of practice Friday, Nov. 6. 'Brian had some work done on his ankle, so if he doesn't go on Wednesday, that would be the cause unless something crazy (happens) with his concussion,' Reid said Monday, Nov. 9. 'He had a little bit of swelling, so he had some work done.' Exactly what 'work done' meant was not clear. Reid said Westbrook did not have arthroscopic surgery again and was not held out of Week 9 because of the ankle pain. 'The reason he didn't play was strictly because of the headache,' Reid said.
| Our view: LeSean McCoy is looking better and better for the stretch run with each piece of Westbrook injury news. Even Leonard Weaver could retain his value if Westbrook remains hobbled. |

Eagles | To be cautious with Westbrook Mon Nov 9, 04:35 PM
NFL.com reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said the team will continue to be cautious with RB Brian Westbrook (concussion). Westbrook began experiencing symptoms of a mild headache Friday, Nov. 6. 'But I know this: If he has (headaches), then I'm obviously going to go on the conservative side of that,' Reid said. 'He had tests done, and everything else. Try to take every precautionary measure possible. But I'm not going to stick him out there if he has the headaches, even if the tests were positive.'
| Our view: The team wants Westbrook ready for what they hope is a playoff run, so they will be very cautious with him until he's 100%. If Westbrook continues to miss time then we'll see more of LeSean McCoy and fullback Leonard Weaver. |

Since QB Donovan McNabb returned from his rib injury two games ago, only McCoy, on three run plays in Week 5, has been utilized in the formation.
