Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach and defensive line coach Anthony Weaver is being hired as the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator, per sources on Saturday, Feb. 3.
| Footballguys view: Weaver had been getting some interest as a potential head coach this cycle, but he'll have to wait at least one more year. In Miami, Weaver takes over for Vic Fangio with playmakers already in place. The Dolphins' defense needs to stay healthy to produce to the expected level. |

He's been in line to get another head coaching gig for years, and we'll see if Washington believes he's the best fit going forward. Weaver was a second-round pick in 2002 out of Notre Dame, and he played in the league until 2008. After that, Weaver got into coaching and worked his way up in the ranks with the Jets, Bills, Browns, Texans and Ravens. |
