Cowboys | Daryl Washington hopes to join Cowboys    Wed Jun 7, 02:25 PM

Free-agent LB Daryl Washington (Cardinals) said he would like to sign with the Dallas Cowboys.

Footballguys view: Washington has been out of the league for three years, but he's been reinstated by the NFL and is ready to go. The Cowboys need help on the defensive side of the ball, and Washington was an effective starter (and a Pro Bowl player) -- although it was years ago -- for the Cardinals. Dallas has no issue taking chances on players with baggage.

Cowboys | Dallas eyeing Daryl Washington?    Tue May 23, 07:29 PM

Free-agent LB Daryl Washington (Cardinals) has drawn interest from the Dallas Cowboys, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Cowboys would have to determine whether or not Washington is worth the risk. He was talented when he played, but it's been some time since Washington has been on the football field. Washington was recently reinstated from his suspension and has not played in the NFL since 2013.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington released    Thu May 11, 01:55 PM

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington was released Thursday, May 11. Washington was reinstated from his suspension two weeks ago and has not played in the NFL since 2013.

Footballguys view: It's been three years since Washington played a down in the NFL. His second chance could come with a team like the Raiders or the Bengals...but it's not a lock that someone will be willing to add him even though he showed great talent when playing.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington reinstated    Tue Apr 25, 05:49 PM

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington was reinstated from his suspension Tuesday, April 25. Washington had multiple violations of the NFL's substance-abuse policy and also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in March of 2014. He has not played in the NFL since 2013.

Footballguys view: Washington was once an IDP stud, but he has been away from the league for so long that it's hard to know if he'll ever even make a roster again. The pass rush/off ball versatility he provided the Cardinals is en vogue with Haason Reddick (Temple) likely to go in the mid-to-late first and Tyus Bowser (Houston) possibly sneaking into the first with similar profiles, but Washington's best football is behind.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington not likely to return    Fri Feb 3, 11:53 PM

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington is unlikely to return to the team in 2017, according to a team source, even if he is reinstated.

Footballguys view: Washington should be picked up in deep dynasty IDP leagues as he could have value this year, but it sounds like it won't be in the role he flourished in previously in Arizona.

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington will forfeit his $2.9 million base salary and $100,000 workout bonus as a result of his suspension.

Footballguys view: This is his second substance abuse violation, and that's why his suspension is at least a year. It's costly for Washington, but it's also a huge blow for the Arizona defense. Washington can hit, cover and is a dominant player when he's on the field.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington to be suspended at least one year    Fri May 30, 01:13 PM

Arizona Cardinals LB Daryl Washington has been suspended at least one year for violating the league policy on substance abuse.

Cardinals | Daryl Washington on thin ice    Wed Jun 19, 09:04 AM

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said LB Daryl Washington is walking a very thin line right now due to his legal issues. 'He's had double incidents and, as an organization, that throws a red flag up,' Arians said.

Footballguys view: Washington is one of the best young players at his position and can play at a very high level if he stays out of trouble. He's already set to serve a four-game suspension this year for violating the league's substance abuse policy. That could be increased if the legal process finds him guilty of a domestic incident he was arrested for earlier this offseason.
