Cardinals | Warner throws for 340 yards Week 10 Sun Nov 15, 08:38 PM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 29-for-38 for 340 yards with two touchdown passes Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks. Warner became the 29th player in NFL history to throw 200 touchdown passes. He also had his 51st 300-yard passing game, tying former NFL QB Dan Fouts for fourth on the NFL career list.
| Our view: Warner victimized the inconsistent Seattle secondary, spreading the ball around to multiple receivers while his offensive line protected him better than they have all seasons. |

Cardinals | Warner ties career high Week 9 Sun Nov 8, 05:09 PM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner went 22-for-32 for 261 yards and five touchdowns in Week 9. The five touchdowns tied a career high.
| Our view: Everything the Cardinals did on offense in first half worked in the Bears second complete collapse in three weeks (the other game was against the lowly Browns). |

Cardinals | Warner not completely happy with offense Thu Oct 15, 11:39 AM
Bob McManaman, of the Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner said he is not completely happy with the offense at this point because they have not consistently produced. 'I'm not happy yet. Until we start performing like we did in the first half last week every time out, I'm not going to be happy. That's what I expect from us, to move the ball up and down the field, to make plays, and we just haven't done it nearly consistent enough over the first four games, so I'm not really happy with anything yet,' Warner said.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 30-for-52 for 332 yards with a touchdown pass and two interceptions Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts.
| Our view: The Cards are not doing a good job of protecting Kurt Warner, and it's having an effect on his numbers. |

Cardinals | Warner nearly perfect Week 2 Sun Sep 20, 06:54 PM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 24-for-26 for 243 yards with two touchdown passes Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Warner also set the league's single-game record for completion percentage by completing 92.3 percent of his passes. Former NFL QB Vinny Testaverde held the previous record when he completed 21 of 23 passes for the Cleveland Browns in 1993. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt replaced Warner late in the third quarter because he did not want to risk Warner getting hurt.
| Our view: Warner abused the struggling Jaguar defense, starting hot and staying hot in a little over two quarters of play. Warner's shoulder is still not 100% and he remains a major durability risk, but he's got as much one week upside as any quarterback in the league not named Drew Brees. |

Cardinals | Warner says hip continues to improve Thu Sep 17, 11:42 AM
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) said his hip continues to improve after undergoing offseason hip surgery. 'All I can say is it's the best it's been since the initial injury and it continues to get better,' Warner said.
| Our view: There's no nice way to put this, but Kurt Warner just looked old in week one. Concerned fantasy owners (especially Warner owners) should put their bids in now for Matt Leinart just in case. |

Cardinals | Warner throws two picks Week 1 Sun Sep 13, 08:40 PM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 26-for-44 for 288 yards with a touchdown pass and two interceptions during the team's Week 1 game.
| Our view: The offense looked as clunky as it did in the preseason, which has to be troubling for folks who spent high picks on the key parts of this formerly high-flying passing attack. |

Cardinals | Warner to see limited action Thursday Thu Sep 3, 10:32 AM
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner may play a series or two in the team's preseason finale Thursday, Sept. 3.
| Our view: Warner shouldn't be in the game for too long, and with backup Matt Leinart's sore shoulder we could see more of Brian St. Pierre and Tyler Palko. |

Cardinals | Warner yet to throw a touchdown pass this preseason Sat Aug 29, 02:16 AM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 10-for-16 for 139 yards with one interception and a lost fumble in the team's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers Friday, Aug. 28. Warner has not thrown a touchdown pass in the preseason.
| Our view: Warner hasn't had a fantastic preseason, but he looks fine to the start the regular season after offseason hip surgery. He's a fine pick as the #5 or 6 QB off the board in the fifth round. |

Cardinals | Warner feeling better Wed Aug 26, 09:28 PM
Bob McManaman and Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, report that QB Kurt Warner's hip is feeling better. "I feel a lot better," he said. "I feel probably twice as good as I felt at any point since I injured my hip. It's exciting for me that I'm seeing strides being made. I'm feeling more comfortable and I don't have to worry about trying to manage the pain. I'm definitely feeling better than I have in a long time."
| Our view: Warner is starting to fall because of the perceived injury risk that goes with his age, history, and offseason surgery, so be ready to scoop him up in the sixth round if he falls that far. His dropping ADP is another good reason to wait on QB in leagues that only give four points per passing TD. |

Cardinals | Not concerned over offense Wed Aug 26, 09:22 AM
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports the Arizona Cardinals are not concerned over their offensive struggles so far this preseason. The team has just one touchdown in two preseason games and has not scored a touchdown in eight trips in the red zone. 'I couldn't even tell you what we did in preseason last year,' QB Kurt Warner said. 'Were we really good in preseason last year? I have no idea. So, again, preseason is what it is. We've got to improve, no question, but I'm not in full panic mode right now.'
| Our view: Coach Whisenhunt believes that part of their trouble scoring is due to a lack of gameplanning in the preseason. Another reason the Cardinals have failed to score in the red zone is four turnovers, including two passes picked off in the endzone in Saturday's game against the Chargers. This is only preseason, so fantasy owners shouldn't be concerned by the lack of points the Cardinals are putting up on the scoreboard. |

Cardinals | Warner to see little preseason action Tue Aug 11, 10:11 AM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) said he does not expect to play much during the preseason, mainly because head coach Ken Whisenhunt has not let Warner play much during the past two preseasons.
| Our view: We won't be moving Warner down our boards because of the hip surgery, we expect him to be fine to start the saeson. |

Cardinals | Warner estimates he's about 85 percent healthy Thu Aug 6, 01:28 AM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) insisted he would have no problem playing when his hip pain was brought up during his press conference, but admitted he was about "85 percent."
| Our view: You want him to say 100% if you're drafting him, but we think Warner at 85% is still one of the best eight QBs in the league, and he should be in even better shape by the time the season opens next month. |

Cardinals | Leinart sinking? Tue Aug 4, 11:16 PM
Jason Cole, from Yahoo! Sports, notes a year ago Matt Leinart, the 2006 first-round pick and Heisman Trophy winner was the No. 1 quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals going into training camp before he was beaten out for the job by veteran Kurt Warner(notes). With Warner fresh off having led the Cardinals to their first Super Bowl, Leinart (at right) is not even competing for the No. 1 job anymore. But he is still competing. Arizona brought back veteran backup Brian St. Pierre(notes) and promised him a chance to compete with Leinart for the No. 2 job.
| Our view: Some people think that Whisenhunt's promise to St. Pierre was nothing more than empty words, but according to Cole there are sources that say the threat to Leinart's #2 job is real. Matt Leinart has been doing some MMA work in order to be a tougher quarterback, but that won't help him make better decisions when throwing the football. |

Cardinals | Warner doesn't expect offense to change under Whisenhunt Mon Aug 3, 10:22 AM
Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner said he is not concerned with head coach Ken Whisenhunt taking over the play-calling duties this season from former offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Warner doesn't expect the offense to be much different, as Whisenhunt remained heavily involved in the offense as head coach and influenced a lot of the plays called.
| Our view: The offense might not be quite as open with Whisenhunt calling the shots, but he is still a risk taker, and he'll still lean on the team's strength, the passing game. |

Cardinals | Warner not 100 percent yet Fri Jul 31, 11:52 AM
During an interview with the NFL Network, Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) said he still has a little pain in his hip and is still not 100 percent. He is, however, able to do everything he needs to on the field, and said the injury will not hold him back.
| Our view: During our interview with Arizona Republic beat writer Kent Somers, he seemed to have no worries at all about Warner's hip. We still think he is a top 6 or 7 QB this year, without a doubt. |
Cardinals | Warner says hip getting better Thu May 28, 02:07 PM
Bob Young, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) said his surgically repaired hip is getting better and the pain is lessening.
| Our view: 'It's getting better, the pain is lessening - small increments, but it's lessening. As far as functionally though, I feel great. I feel strong. . . . It's just a matter of pain,' Warner said. |

Cardinals | Teammates supports Boldin Wed May 27, 09:05 AM
Bob McManaman, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner and several teammates supported WR Anquan Boldin's decision to fire agent Drew Rosenhaus. 'We understand public perception is a huge part of our business. But oftentimes, that public perception is wrong,' Warner said. 'You can't go out and dispute it all the time, but just thinking about a guy like 'Q,' the guy does everything right. He busts his butt, he's here every day, he's a great leader for us, and he just wants to be compensated fairly for what he's accomplished and what he brings to the table. None of us fault him for that. There's no way in our book that he should ever have a bad reputation because of that.' LB Karlos Dansby added, 'You have to make the right decision for you and your future and I think 'Q' made a great decision. He was being (attacked) in the media because of the decisions he was making through his representation. For him to change his representation like that is big, man. That says a lot about him.'
| Our view: We'll see if this change in representation will help Boldin stay with the Cardinals, or if it signals the end of his days in Arizona. |

Cardinals | Warner in Super Bowl form Thu May 21, 01:26 PM
Bob McManaman, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) looked as sharp and crisp Wednesday, May 20, as he did in Super Bowl XLIII.
| Our view: Warner is now nine weeks removed from surgery to repair a torn labrum, and he participated in full during all practice activities Wednesday. Warner said there is still some residual discomfort from the surgery, but his mobility and flexibility have improved significantly. |

| Our view: This team doesn't want to go through the Super Bowl losers curse and now that they've been so close to a championship they are going to try even harder to get back and win one. The NFC is setting up to be a brutal conference this season with so many strong teams emerging. |

Cardinals | Warner injury update Mon May 4, 08:28 AM
The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner (hip) said he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery to repair a hip injury that bothered him much of last season. Warner took part in the team's minicamp over the weekend, but on a limited basis. 'I don't think anybody expected me to do as much as I did this weekend besides myself, so I guess from that standpoint I think we're all happy where we're at this stage in the offseason,' Warner said.

'Kurt wanted to do everything,' head coach Ken Whisenhunt said. 'We had to hold him back.' Warner took part in the individual sessions and in the 7-on-7 passing period. Cardinals | Boldin must wait for extension Tue Apr 28, 11:58 AM
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports it is questionable if the team wants to extend the contract of WR Anquan Boldin this year. Boldin has two years remaining on his current deal, and there is some question of his worth after the lack of interest in trading for him. In addition, the team has re-signed QB Kurt Warner, and with the hefty contracts likely to be commanded by SS Adrian Wilson and LB Karlos Dansby, the Cardinals could wait until 2010 to try to re-sign Boldin.
