Lions | Ndamukong Suh receptive to player safety meeting Fri Aug 8, 02:53 PM
Detroit Lions DT Ndamukong Suh was receptive to a meeting with executive VP of football operations Troy Vincent about player safety. 'The objective was to sit down, review the tape, watch the games, and let's see what's taking place -- from a coverage standpoint, up front, every scenario,' Vincent said. 'How do we assist in making sure the player, the coach, the agent, everyone is on the same page in regards to what we expect and what they expect? A lot of it was casual conversation, put on the tape and say, 'Take me through this play progression.''

NFL | Could consider developmental league Sun Apr 27, 08:32 PM
NFL director of football operations Troy Vincent said the league could consider creating a developmental league in the future. 'We need to keep the pipeline of talent flowing, and that means for all areas of our game: players, coaches, scouts, game officials. I am responsible to look at whatever the competition committee looks at, and that includes a developmental league,' Vincent said.
Footballguys view: The league needs a minor league - if only for the quarterback talent alone. It takes some time to develop at that position, and we're not seeing late-bloomers at the position like we did with World League/NFL Europe quarterbacks like Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner and Jake Delhomme. The quarterbacks holding clipboards now could get a chance to develop their pro skill set throwing to pro receivers. At the very least, the league should consider adding a 7-on-7 passing league. |

Eagles | Vincent advising S. Brown on contract dispute Tue May 12, 08:41 AM
Paul Domowitch, of the Philadelphia Daily News, reports former Philadelphia Eagles CB Troy Vincent is advising CB Sheldon Brown in his contract dispute with the team. 'I would be very surprised if I saw anything more in the newspapers about it,' said Vincent, who has talked to Brown about his situation. 'When I saw it last year with Lito (Sheppard) at this time and as it moved forward, it never surprised me. Because you could see by the tone and by the comments that there was more coming. That it wasn't going to end. That it was going to go through the entire season. That it would be part of the locker room. I don't see that this time.'
