Dallas Cowboys FB Lawrence Vickers and TE Dante Rosario are expected to compete for one roster spot during training camp because the team is considering phasing out the fullback position in order to use more two tight end sets. Rosario could have an edge because of his special teams play as well as his lower salary.
| Footballguys view: If Vickers gets bounced from the roster there could be a small market for his services. There's reportedly five teams (Dolphins, Ravens, Giants, Chiefs, Texans) interested in free agent fullback Vonta Leach. The teams that don't get Leach could take a look at the 'V' back on the open market. |

The Dallas Cowboys will likely spend the bulk of their Week 1 game in a traditional two-receiver, two-running back formation and let RB DeMarco Murray and FB Lawrence Vickers be the focal point of the offense in the expected absence of TE Jason Witten (spleen). Murray had more than 20 carries in five of the eight games he was the primary running back, and delivered three games with more than 130 yards.
