| Footballguys view: Braxton Miller was a third-round pick of the Texans in the 2016 NFL draft but he failed to develop as a receiver. He's incredibly athletic and can be a weapon on offense. Last year for the Jets, Tye had only four catches for 38 yards (and spent most of the season on the Patriots practice squad). New York Giants TE Larry Donnell (neck) is confident that the neck injury he suffered in Week 8 won't keep him out for long. Donnell said that he'll be back soon, but the Giants have no timetable for his return. Head coach Tom Coughlin said Donnell is week-to-week. 'I'm just taking it until I get motion back in it,' he said. 'We're just taking it day-by-day. So no timeframe, just whenever I'm able to get all my motion back in it.' Donnell wants to be 100% when he returns to action. TE Will Tye is currently the only tight end on the active roster.
| Footballguys view: If he plays, Donnell's inconsistency makes him a shaky TE2. You don't mess with neck injuries though, so he and the Giants are right to be cautious. If he doesn't play, look for Will Tye to have a bigger role, though we're not sure how large it will be. He is a bit of a flex play at tight end, so consider him no more than a TE3 with upside if Donnell is out and don't play him if Donnell is active. |
