Jets | Santonio Holmes sitting out, other receivers nicked up Tue Jun 12, 03:46 PM
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is on the sidelines during the first day of mandatory minicamp Tuesday, June 12, with a tight hamstring. 'Obviously, I pushed the wideout group, in particular, a little too hard,' head coach Rex Ryan said. '... That's a mistake I made.' WRs Jeremy Kerley, Patrick Turner, Chaz Schilens and Stephen Hill are also nursing hamstring injuries. Hill didn't practice at all Tuesday.
Footballguys view: For once, Holmes is out and it's not controversial. Still, it's hard to like his fantasy stock this year with the air of unhappiness around him and the prospects of Tim Tebow taking over at QB at some point during the season. |

RB Terrance Ganaway will not be attending, and WR Stephen Hill and RB Bilal Powell have not yet committed.

Dolphins | Looking for Patrick Turner to be more consistent Fri Aug 6, 02:46 PM
Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said he likes how WR Patrick Turner has performed so far during training camp but said Turner has been be more consistent with his play, according to Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. 'Consistency for Pat is going to be important,' Sparano said. 'He's starting to play, doing some good things. He's made some good catches with his hands and gone and gotten the ball a few times. But the consistency thing is what I think is probably the most important.'
Footballguys view: Turner was a standout in camp last year, but failed to carry it over to the regular season. As of right now, he's a good bet to hold down his job as the #5 WR. |

Dolphins | Patrick Turner on the bubble? Wed Jun 23, 11:12 AM
Miami Dolphins WR Patrick Turner could be on the bubble of making the team's final roster, according to Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald. A teammate said Turner previously had not shown the urgency or work ethic of the other receivers. Two teammates were skeptical about Turner sticking long-term.
Footballguys view: Turner is most certainly on the roster bubble this year. He was overdrafted by the Dolphins in the first place, and now they're seeing why he should have slipped further down the draft board. He has good size, but is not quick off the line of scrimmage or in and out of his breaks. Turner struggles to get open and seems to give a lackluster effort. We wouldn't be surprised if he's cut sometime in training camp. |

Dolphins | Turner unsure if he'll be ready for training camp Sun Jun 13, 01:16 PM
Barry Jackson, from the Miami Herald, reports Patrick Turner, recovering from what one Dolphins person identified as a back injury that required a procedure, isn't sure if he will be back for the start of training camp. ``We'll have to see -- I'll be able to play at some point in the season,'' said Turner, who isn't permitted to disclose the injury.
Footballguys view: Turner, a third-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, had a disappointing rookie season that saw him get on the field in only two games. He's now buried on the depth chart, and could be on the roster bubble as players like Julius Pruitt and Ryan Grice-Mullen are showing promise in minicamp. |

Dolphins | Patrick Turner likely out until camp Wed May 19, 04:38 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Patrick Turner (undisclosed) likely will not participate until training camp because he is recovering from offseason surgery, reports Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald.
Footballguys view: Turner is most certainly on the roster bubble this year, and this recovery is only taking time away from crucial reps in practice. |

Dolphins | Patrick Turner on the bubble to make team Thu May 13, 09:48 PM
Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins WR Patrick Turner could be on the bubble to make the team's roster. Turner couldn't get off the line of scrimmage during practice and failed to create separation between himself and defensive backs.
Footballguys view: There was plenty of doubt about Patrick Turner's ability last year before the draft, but the Dolphins decided to overdraft him and selected him in the third-round. He's a big receiver, but lacks the suddenness and explosiveness to be effective in the NFL. He's most certainly on the roster bubble with the arrival about Brandon Marshall, and we wouldn't be surprised if he has to find a new team after training camp. |
