Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker agreed to a four-year, $23.05 million extension Wednesday, April 24, which makes him the highest-paid kicker in the league. He receives $12.5 million fully guaranteed in the first two years and an $8 million signing bonus.
Footballguys view: Kickers have enough influence on games to merit this kind of pay when they are as good as Tucker. This could set the upper limits for 49er franchise tag recipient Robbie Gould, especially if he ends up back with Bears. |

Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker (head) was cleared from concussion protocol after getting injured while tackling Buffalo Bills WR Brandon Tate on a kick return during the first quarter of the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 26.
Footballguys view: Tucker is often the first kicker off of the board in drafts and since he avoided a head injury, he should stay near the top of kicker draft lists. |

Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker kicked four field goals (52, 57, 54 and 36 yards) to aid his team in a 19-12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Nov. 27.
Footballguys view: The Ravens played it safe on offense so it was a banner day for one of the few kickers worth taking earlier than the last round. Tucker has a good outlook again next week vs. Miami. |

Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker claims he could hit a field goal of more than 84 yards in the ideal conditions. 'We think about these things really specifically, if you send me out there you have a reason for it -- because they think I can make a kick,' Tucker said Thursday, Aug. 4, on NFL Network's Good Morning Football. 'To me it doesn't matter where I just have to hit a good ball. If conditions are prime -- like last season, we opened up in Denver, the weather was warm and the field was nice, you're up in altitude so the ball just carries and in pregame I hit the cross bar from 85. So if the situation is just prime, maybe 84 and a half yards.'
Footballguys view: Because you need to know everything. We already think highly of Tucker. In so far as kickers are concerned, he's less odd than most. That said, this is a mighty claim, and if he can hit it from anywhere, at any time, he can be a help in leagues that reward you for distance on field goals. |

Baltimore Ravens PK Justin Tucker will receive the franchise tag if a new deal is not reached, according to general manager Ozzie Newsome, who said discussions on a new deal have been held.
Footballguys view: The cap is going up and Tucker is one of the best in the business, so it makes sense to pay him top market rate without having to commit long term in case he loses his accuracy, which does happen inexplicably at times at a position with a small margin of error. |
