Bears | Mitchell Trubisky progressing on reads    Wed Aug 14, 09:36 AM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is 'way past' where he was last season in reading defenses, according to head coach Matt Nagy. Trubisky was not always in tune with reading blitzes and coverages because he was so worried about getting the play called. Now, he's playing off of instincts.

Footballguys view: Trubisky needs to take a step forward in 2019. Fantasy GMs may have something nice on their hands if Trubisky continues to develop as a pro passer. Trubisky has a current ADP of QB21 (14.01) in 12-team PPR leagues. He could easily outperform that draft position this season.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky comfortable, confident    Sun Jun 30, 08:20 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky said he feels more comfortable running head coach Matt Nagy's offense this season.

Footballguys view: Trubisky should be better in year two under Nagy and Nagy has said that his quarterback has gone from 101 to 202 and is doing things he couldn't do last year earlier in the offseason. The Bears offense had a good first year under Nagy until Trubisky got hurt and the whole unit could take a step forward.

Footballguys view: Chase Daniel was competent and showed he can still guide the team to wins in games they should win. The value of Allen Robinson should bounce back in a better matchup regardless of the quarterback, and we saw Taylor Gabriel and Tarik Cohen do well in PPR leagues with Daniel's penchant for short passing.

Chicago Bears QB Chase Daniel could be making his first start of the year this week with 'plenty of signs' pointing that direction, according to The Chicago Tribune's Dan Wiederer. QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) is dealing with a shoulder injury as noted earlier.

Footballguys view: The Bears are on the road in Detroit as they play on Thanksgiving in Week 12. Daniel was with Nagy during their time with the Chiefs and knows the offense well. We'll be nerfing expectations for all Bears players if Daniel does get the start.

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is on pace to break Chicago's single-season franchise records for passing yards and passing touchdowns. Both records are held by former QB Erik Kramer, who threw for 3,838 passing yards and 29 touchdowns in 1995.

Footballguys view: Trubisky and head coach Matt Nagy are certainly meshing well. We should see the second-year pro get past both records for the Bears.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky has big afternoon    Sun Nov 11, 05:57 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 23-of-30 passes for 355 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions and he ran for 18 yards and a score.

Footballguys view: When the Bears has a defense off balance, they make it look very easy. The Lions secondary wasn't able to slow down the Bears receivers without Darius Slay and everything the Bears did worked. Trubisky will be a riskier streamer against the Vikings in an important game next week.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky throws for 135 yards    Sun Nov 4, 05:27 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky went 12-for-20 for 135 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.

Footballguys view: Trubisky was just short on a potential rushing score, but with the defense outscoring the Bills, he wasn't really needed in this one. He'll be a decent streamer against the Lions next week, but if the defense is strong, it will limit his upside.

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 26-of-50 passes for 333 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions with six runs for a game-high 81 yards and a score in Week 7 against the New England Patriots.

Footballguys view: Trubisky was too much for the slow Patriots defense as a scrambler and he had to pass a ton in the second half to make up a deficit that the Bears special teams issues helped create. He'll remain a top-end streamer until he lets us down. Next week brings the Jets.

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky completed 22-of-31 passes for 316 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in the Week 6 game against the Miami Dolphins and he ran for 47 yards on eight attempts.

Footballguys view: Trubisky had a terrible red zone interception, but otherwise played well against a shorthanded Dolphins defense. He'll be streamable against the Patriots.

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky went 19-for-26 for 354 yards and six touchdowns against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4. He also rushed for 53 yards on three carries during the game.

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is 'riding the rollercoaster on a play-to-play basis' during the early stages of training camp, according to Rich Campbell of The Chicago Tribune.

Bears | More freedom for Mitchell Trubisky     Sat Jul 21, 11:56 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky is going to be allowed to 'cut it loose' more often this year, according to head coach Matt Nagy.

Footballguys view: Trubisky had some great moments last year when he was allowed to do more, but the Bears offensive staff didn't allow him to get into a groove. Jared Goff had a breakout year with a more creative staff and retooled offense in 2017, and that could happen for Trubisky this year. Trubisky opens with the suspect Packers defense and might be an option for quarterback streamers to start the season.

Bears | 'Training wheels off' for Mitchell Trubisky    Thu Jul 12, 07:45 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky has had 'the training wheels taken off,' according to OG Kyle Long, who added that Trubisky is 'going to be able to do some things creatively and get to showcase his skills' as a result.

Footballguys view: Trubisky is poised to take a step forward this season, but the question is how big a step forward? He's got some new pieces to work with on offense, and that's definitely an improvement over the lack of targets last season. But sophomore slumps are a real thing, we're still not sure how good his weapons are, and he is definitely a quarterback with a lot to learn. He's tracking as the 24th quarterback coming off the board in early drafts, and right now that seems about right.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky has more command of team    Thu Jul 5, 08:21 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky has more command of the team going into his second year, according to RB Jordan Howard. 'He asserted himself a lot last year, but I definitely feel like a lot more people are listening to him,' Howard said. 'He has a lot greater command of the locker room and stuff because he's the quarterback for sure now.'

Footballguys view: If the Bears are going to take a step forward, they'll need Trubisky to take command. That said, the lack of weapons to throw to, the shaky defense and Trubisky's own likely learning curve make him no more than what his ADP is sitting at right now, which is the 25th quarterback off the board in fantasy drafts.

Bears | Mitchell Trubisky talks new offense    Mon Jul 2, 01:33 PM

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky said the team plans to spread the field and use all of their offensive weapons under head coach Matt Nagy.

Footballguys view: while we like to hear they are using all their weapons, there's not exactly an overabundance of them. That and his inexperience make Trubisky no more than a QB3 as we head into training camp.

Bears | Kevin White eager to make an impact    Thu Jun 7, 10:01 PM

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White has been practicing with 'a lot of passion' during OTAs, according to QB Mitchell Trubisky, and Trubisky said the two have been communicating on an off the field.

Footballguys view: It's a make-or-break year for White. A first-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft, White's career has been set back by injuries and he's only played five games in three seasons. With Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller ahead of him on the depth chart, White is competing to be the fourth spot.

Footballguys view: The kid is probably right. New head coach Matt Nagy is one of the most creative minds in football, and he'll do his best to craft a high-powered offense for Trubisky to run.
