Vikings | Laquon Treadwell leads team in receiving    Sun Nov 3, 07:39 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell posted three grabs for a team-high 58 yards on five targets in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Footballguys view: Treadwell looked as effective and competent as he has at any point in his NFL career. If Adam Thielen is missing extended time, he'll be worth monitoring in deep leagues.

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is expected to be the third receiver in Week 8 against the Washington Redskins with WR Adam Thielen (hamstring), but his role might not be that large. When Thielen out last week, Treadwell was on the field for just 10 of the team's 73 plays.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell could be done in Minnesota    Sat Jul 6, 02:33 AM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is in danger of not making the 53-man roster, in the opinion of ESPN's Courtney Cronin. Treadwell, who had his fifth-year option declined, will be a free agent after the season and could be let go in favor of newer options such as WRs Jordan Taylor and Chad Beebe, who have earned praise throughout the offseason.

Footballguys view: It would be a costly move for the Vikings as Treadwell has a cap hit of $3.1 million in 2019 with most of it ($2.5 million) in dead money. A first-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Treadwell has only one touchdown catch as a pro. The natural talent (size, speed) is there but he's never put it all together. Treadwell is coming off career-best numbers in 2018 of 35 catches for 302 yards and a touchdown. He needs to have a good preseason to make the team.

Vikings | Jordan Taylor getting first-team reps    Thu May 23, 02:52 AM

Minnesota Vikings WR Jordan Taylor has been working with the first team in OTAs ahead of WR Laquon Treadwell. Taylor is occupying the place of WR Stefon Diggs, who is not participating.

Footballguys view: Taylor has flashed a little bit when he was with the Broncos, but he was also hurt quite a bit. We appreciate him in super deep dynasty formats because of his size/speed combination. Taylor is getting a fresh start with the Vikings this year and must be impressing if he's getting first-team work.

Vikings | Bigger role for Laquon Treadwell?    Sun Mar 10, 04:14 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is expected to be more involved in the passing game under offensive advisor Gary Kubiak, according to head coach Mike Zimmer.

Footballguys view: A first-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft, Treadwell has been a career disappointment. He had a career-high 35 receptions in 2018 and only one receiving touchdown. We won't be counting on him to do much more, but this is a storyline worth watching in camp if you play in dynasty formats.

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell was targeted seven times against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4. He caught four of them for 47 yards.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell turning a corner?    Fri Jun 15, 12:49 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell spent spring workouts running with first-team offense and reportedly feels as if he is working smarter in his third season than he has before, putting him in the conversation to challenge for the No. 3 receiver role, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.

Footballguys view: A first-round pick in 2016, Treadwell has looked like a bust over the last two seasons. If he's turned the corner and is playing up to his potential, then Treadwell could be a nice third WR for the Vikings behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. He's competing with free agent addition Kendall Wright for that spot.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell working with starters    Thu Jun 7, 11:35 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has been working as the third receiver with the first-team offense during OTAs.

Footballguys view: This is certainly a prove it year for the 2016 first-round pick. Treadwell has 21 career receptions in 25 games over two seasons. He's competing with Kendall Wright to be the Vikings no.3 wideout behind Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

Vikings | Two options for Vikings No. 3 receiver    Mon May 7, 05:42 PM

Minnesota Vikings WRs Kendall Wright and Laquon Treadwell likely will compete for the No. 3 receiver job during training camp.

Footballguys view: There's not much to go around for the Vikings no.3 WR because of TE Kyle Rudolph...and the fact that Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs get most of the looks. We'll see if new starting QB Kirk Cousins grows attached to Wright or Treadwell, but they shouldn't have too many looks coming their way in 2018.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell holding himself back?    Thu Mar 1, 05:42 PM

Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell needs to 'get out of his own way,' according to head coach Mike Zimmer. The remark comes a day after Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said Treadwell needs to relax and not press so hard. Zimmer wasn't as diplomatic Thursday, March 1, saying, 'He's a guy that works extremely hard, probably doesn't do things the right way all of the time. We'll be in training camp and he'll run the stadium steps at night, which is not helping him for practice the next day. He thinks he's trying to get better, trying to get better, he's just going about it the wrong way. So he needs to get out of his own way.'

Vikings | Big jump for Laquon Treadwell?    Wed Feb 28, 05:52 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is being counted upon for a big jump in 2018, his third NFL season. General manager Rick Spielman said Tuesday, Feb. 28, that he is hopeful for the former first-round pick will take a step forward. 'It's going to be a big year for him. Hoping to see that jump this year,' Spielman said. 'I know he does work extremely hard at it. He's a pleaser. He wants to do good. You just got to learn to relax a little bit and not press so much - enjoy playing. Don't put so much pressure on yourself.'

Footballguys view: In two years, Treadwell only has 21 catches...with 20 of those coming just last year. He's got the makings of a bust right now, but the team hasn't given up on him. Dynasty owners should try to buy low just in case Treadwell can turn it around with the Vikings in 2018....or with a new team and a fresh start sometime after that.

Vikings | Week 17 game recap for Vikings    Sun Dec 31, 04:49 PM

Minnesota Vikings QB Case Keenum completed 21-of-29 pass attempts for 189 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears. RB Latavius Murray galloped for 111 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, while RB Jerick McKinnon rushed 12 times for 44 yards. WR Stefon Diggs was the top receiver with 65 yards and a touchdown on six grabs, while WR Adam Thielen posted six receptions for 61 yards on seven targets. TE David Morgan was good for three receptions and 35 yards, with WR Laquon Treadwell adding three catches and 16 yards.

Footballguys view: Murray delivered on the offseason investment that seemed superfluous after the Vikings drafted Dalvin Cook and he'll be a cornerstone in the playoffs. The Vikings passing game has cooled off in December.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell unable to return    Mon Aug 7, 10:03 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell (leg) did not participate in practice Monday, Aug. 7, and has missed five straight practices.

Footballguys view: Treadwell is falling while Michael Floyd is rising in the wake of some excellent practices. While there was momentum building for Treadwell earlier in camp, since his fight and injury, he is fading. Floyd might be re-capturing the #3 job once his four-game suspension is over.

Vikings | Michael Floyd standing out    Sat Aug 5, 11:40 AM

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd has reportedly received 'plenty of work' in the team's top three-receiver package with Laquon Treadwell missing time this week and taken advantage, making several impressive sideline catches after separating from defensive backs in 1-on-1 drills on Friday, Aug. 4.

Footballguys view: It seems like rookie and second year receivers are always on the outside looking in over in Minnesota. Laquon Treadwell had very little production last year, while Floyd had some nice moments. There has been plenty of back and forth this offseason about which receiver will get the nod, and this is a camp battle to watch. Keep in mind Floyd is suspended for the first four games of the season, so Treadwell will get his inseason chance to shine regardless of preseason.

Vikings | More production for Laquon Treadwell?     Fri Jun 30, 11:59 PM

Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur believes he can utilize his weapons more effectively with a full offseason in his role, and Conor Orr of NFL.com thinks WR Laquon Treadwell could be one of the main beneficiaries.

Footballguys view: In nine games as a rookie last year, the 2016 first-round pick struggled to make an impact and only caught one pass for 15 yards on the season. Treadwell is competing as the no3 receiver for the Vikings behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Coming out of college, Treadwell drew comparisons to DeAndre Hopkins (Texans) because of his athleticism and ability to make crazy catches with ease. The Vikings are hoping he can start flashing more of that in year two.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell never healthy in 2016    Tue May 30, 08:32 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has pronounced himself fully healed and 'looks healthy' according to CB Xavier Rhodes, one season after Treadwell battled foot, hamstring and finger injuries.

Footballguys view: That's great news for Treadwell and the Vikings. A first-round pick out of Ole Miss, Treadwell's rookie season was a disappointment as injuries slowed him down and held him to one catch for 15 yards in nine games. He's got a skill set reminiscent of DeAndre Hopkins (Texans) if at full strength. Treadwell is not going to outrun anyone down the field, but he has great concentration and can make difficult catches seem routine. He'll compete for the WR3 spot behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen in 2017.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell impressing coordinator    Thu May 25, 02:36 PM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell is having a good offseason so far, according to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Treadwell has been 'on point' from a mental standpoint. He has done well route-running, catching the ball and blocking, too. Shurmur said he's pleased with the progress Treadwell has made from a year ago.

Footballguys view: All this is great and we're happy to hear it. However, as Han Solo would say (and we're paraphrasing, so pardon us) but good in shorts and a T-shirt is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else. We're looking to see him perform against actual defenses before we get too carried away. Add in the fact that he has to claw past Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen and we're thinking Treadwell's impact could remain on the low side.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell running with the first team    Thu May 25, 12:36 AM

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell has reported the run with the first-team offense alongside Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen during OTAs, according to Minneapolis Star Tribune's Matt Vensel.

Footballguys view: The Vikings brought Treadwell along slowly, and they could do that because Diggs and Thielen were so good. It's going to be hard for Treadwell to push his way into the mix but we like what he brings to the table but he has to show more consistency and better execution than he did last season and now has Michael Floyd to compete with as well.
