Free-agent TE Jordan Thomas (Colts) signed an undisclosed Reserve/Future contract with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

Patriots | Jordan Thomas headed to New England    Mon Nov 9, 05:01 PM

Free-agent TE Jordan M. Thomas (Cardinals) was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots on Monday, Nov. 9.

Footballguys view: Thomas is an interesting prospect, and we've always had an appreciation for him in crazy deep dynasty formats. He's a big-bodied converted wide receiver who could have some developmental upside. The Patriots don't have pass-catching tight ends they can rely on yet, so maybe Thomas can climb the depth chart.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a huge target who we're watching in deep dynasty formats. We'll see what he can do with the Cardinals now that he's on the active roster. If he's active on game day, Thomas would make for a nice red-zone target because of his size.

Free-agent TE Jordan M. Thomas (Texans) was signed to the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad Monday, Sept. 7.

Texans | Jordan Thomas catches eye of coach    Fri Aug 14, 10:13 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas drew praise from head coach Bill O'Brien during training camp. 'Jordan came back in great shape,' O'Brien said. 'He's really lost a lot of weight, running good, catching the ball, blocking, so he's got to keep it going.'

Footballguys view: Thomas is a big-bodied tight end and converted wide receiver from college at Mississippi State. He came into the league as a sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft and he's been developing ever since. Thomas has upside and Fantasy GMs in dynasty formats should be monitoring his progress.

Houston Texans TE Jordan Thomas (rib) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Thursday, Nov. 21. S Jonathan Owens was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. WR Steven Mitchell and DL Joel Heath were cut in corresponding moves.

Footballguys view: Thomas could split the tight end production with Jordan Akins and Darren Fells, making it impossible to pick a Texans tight end as a streamer from here on out.

Texans | Jordan Thomas designed to return    Mon Nov 11, 05:47 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas (ribs) has been designated as one of the players to return from the Reserve/Injured list this season.

Footballguys view: Fantasy GMs need to be dialed in here. Thomas is a huge target who could dominate in the red zone due to his size and strength combination. The Texans passing game is one to collect pieces of, and Thomas could be their top tight end when he's out there. Monitor his progress in practice and add him if you need TE help in deeper leagues.

Texans | Jordan Thomas back at practice    Mon Nov 11, 01:37 PM

Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas (rib) returned to practice Monday, Nov. 11, opening the 21-day window he has to get activated off the Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a huge target and would be a good weapon for the Texans to get back for the playoff run. Fantasy GMs in deeper leagues have to keep an eye on his status to see if the second-year pro is going to be activated. Thomas would have some fantasy value if he does return from Injured Reserve.

Texans | Jordan Thomas back on field    Mon Aug 12, 07:06 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas (hamstring) returned to practice Monday, Aug. 12.

Footballguys view: Thomas should be the lead tight end for the Texans this year. We love their high-powered passing game and Thomas has a size advantage over nearly anyone tasked with covering him. Thomas should be considered a TE3 with upside for Fantasy GMs in 2019.

Texans | Jordan Thomas the top TE in Houston    Sat Jul 20, 09:43 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas enters training camp as the No. 1 tight end on the depth chart.

Footballguys view: Thomas was a good red zone target in his rookie year and his snaps and targets should grow. He is unlikely to be a consistent presence in the box score, but at a position where a touchdown equals a good start, he could be a solid matchup streamer with injury upside if the Texans wideouts have another injury-riddled year.

Texans | Jordan Thomas impressing    Thu May 30, 10:30 AM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas has made eye-popping and leaping catches during organized team activities. Thomas, who switched to tight end from wide receiver as a rookie last year, has had a strong offseason.

Footballguys view: Thomas was a converted wide receiver from Mississippi State as a rookie in 2018, and he is still learning the position. He's a huge prospect, measuring in at 6'6" 280 pounds and knows how to use his size as an advantage. A sixth-round pick for the Texans in 2018, Thomas recorded 20 catches for 215 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The upside is there for him to do a lot more. We're monitoring him in dynasty formats and in re-draft leagues, Thomas could be a TE3 with TE2 upside in 2019.

Texans | Jordan Thomas scores twice    Fri Oct 26, 12:38 AM

Houston Texans TE Jordan M. Thomas had four receptions for 29 yards and two touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

Footballguys view: The tackle-sized tight end gets on our tight end streamer list for Week 9 with a good matchup against Denver. He was left alone by the defense on one score and appeared to have Deshaun Watson's eye in the middle of the field.

Texans | Jordan Thomas earning more playing time    Mon Sep 24, 12:35 PM

Houston Texans TE Jordan Thomas 'has done a good job and probably needs to be in there more,' according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a huge target, measuring in at 6'5" 280 pounds. A converted wide receiver from Mississippi State, Thomas creates mismatch problems when he's on the field. We love him in deep dynasty formats, and we'll continue to monitor his progress in the NFL as he learns his new position.

Texans | Houston signs three more picks    Fri May 11, 07:10 PM

Houston Texans sixth-round draft choice TE Jordan M. Thomas and seventh-round draft choices LB Peter Kalambayi and CB Jermaine Kelly signed four-year contracts Friday, May 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a big-bodied (280 pounds) target who used to be a wide receiver. He's still raw at the position and needs work as a blocker. However, his size alone could make him a decent red zone option for the Texans.

Texans | Stephen Anderson may be on bubble    Mon May 7, 03:51 PM

Houston Texans TE Stephen Anderson is expected to compete with TE Jordan M. Thomas for a spot on the roster during training camp because the Texans likely will only keep three tight ends on the 53-man roster.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a converted wide receiver and moves well for a big man at 265 pounds. He's got the ability to create mismatches as a pass catcher but needs to work on his technique and 'want to' as a blocker.

Texans | Jordan Thomas going to Houston    Sat Apr 28, 05:17 PM

The Houston Texans selected Mississippi State TE Jordan M. Thomas with the 211th overall pick (Round 6) in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Footballguys view: Thomas has rare size and speed, and is very athletic but as a football player, leaves a lot to be desired. He had very little production in college, doesn't release cleanly from the line and his routes are bad. This is an upside project with a Gran Canyon deep downside.
