New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 11, and is listed as questionable for Week 6.

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) looked good during practice this week and is expected to play in the Week 5 game, according to head coach Adam Gase.

Footballguys view: We're not expecting much from Thomas if he plays. We'd be more excited about the Jets passing game when Sam Darnold (mono) returns to action...and even then it's not something to get too excited about.

New York Jets LB Jordan Jenkins (calf) was held out of practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles. QB Sam Darnold (illness) was a limited participant in practice all week and has also been ruled out. LB C.J. Footballguys view: Mosley is still out and he was the key to the team's strong defensive performance in Week 1. The Jets line will miss Osemele against the Eagles defense on the road this week.

The New York Jets have declared QB Sam Darnold, WR Demaryius Thomas, DE John Franklin-Myers, LB Jordan Jenkins, DT Quinnen Williams, DE Jordan Willis and LB C.J. Mosley inactive for Week 3.

Jets | Demaryius Thomas listed as doubtful    Fri Sep 20, 06:26 PM

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring, knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 20, and is listed as doubtful for Week 3.

Footballguys view: Thomas is not the player he used to be and the Jets are likely to shut him down for Week 3. We'll continue to see Robby Anderson outside, along with Josh Bellamy, and Jamison Crowder mans the slot. With Luke Falk starting at quarterback, Anderson is a WR4 or Crowder is a low-end WR3...and obviously both would be considered deep flex plays this week against the Patriots.

Jets | NY Jets' Thursday practice report    Thu Sep 19, 04:16 PM

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold (illness), LB C.J. WR Josh Bellamy (shoulder), RB Trenton Cannon (ankle, hamstring), OL Kelvin Beachum (ankle), DL Steve McLendon (hip), S Rontez Miles (hip), CB Brian Poole (groin) and OL Brian Winters (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis. WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring), DL John Franklin-Myers (foot), LB Harvey Langi (knee), OL Alex Lewis (shoulder), LB Frankie Luvu (hand) and S Marcus Maye (calf) fully participated in practice.

Footballguys view: Mosley was the key to the Week 1 game vs. Buffalo. If he's out vs. New England, it should be a lot easier going for the Patriots offense.

Jets | Demaryius Thomas still out    Thu Sep 19, 12:13 PM

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring/knee) was not spotted at practice Thursday, Sept. 19, missing workouts for the second straight day.

Footballguys view: Thomas is old and broken down. When healthy, he could provide the Jets with some punch at the WR position but not that much and certainly not as much as we remember when he was at the top of his game with the Broncos years ago.

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) did not participate in practice Saturday, Sept. 14, and is listed as questionable for Week 2.

OT Kelvin Beachum (ankle), RB Le'Veon Bell (shoulder), WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring), DL Steve McLendon (hip), OG Brian Winters (shoulder) and OG Alex Lewis (shoulder) were limited in practice Friday. S Jamal Adams (hip), WR Robby Anderson (calf), C Ryan Kalil (calf), LB Frankie Luvu (hand) and S Rontez Miles (hip) were able to fully participate in practice Friday.

Jets | Demaryius Thomas ailing    Thu Sep 12, 10:46 AM

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury, and the team hopes he can practice Saturday, Sept. 14.

Footballguys view: It shouldn't take Thomas too long to get up to speed in the offense since he played under Adam Gase in Denver and he caught passes from Trevor Siemian. Gase said that Thomas could play in Week 2 without practicing.

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round draft pick on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to sources.

Footballguys view: The Patriots cut Thomas to avoid paying his full year's salary, then they brought him back then they traded him. They are moving on from Thomas because the WR room is cramped with the acquisition of Antonio Brown.

Jets | NY Jets trade pick for Demaryius Thomas    Tue Sep 10, 04:25 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas was traded to the New York Jets in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round draft pick on Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Thomas is reunited with Adam Gase after this move. It will be interesting to see how he fits on the depth chart with his new team. Robby Anderson is the No. 1 receiver and Jamison Crowder can get a ton of work. Perhaps Thomas, if healthy, can work his way into the No. 3 spot in the pecking order at the position.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas' status in question    Fri Sep 6, 06:11 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Sept. 6, and is listed as questionable for Week 1.

Footballguys view: Thomas is more of a 'what the heck' flex if he does play against the Steelers on Sunday night. The Patriots have Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon to lead the way at the WR position.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas listed as limited    Thu Sep 5, 04:58 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 5.

Footballguys view: Thomas might be eased back into the lineup with a hamstring injury since he's coming back from an achilles tear. He's worth a roster spot in deep leagues, but looks like he'll be no higher than the third target in this passing game without an injury to Julian Edelman or Josh Gordon.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas returns to Pats    Mon Sep 2, 11:53 AM

Free-agent WR Demaryius Thomas (Patriots) re-signed with the New England Patriots on a one-year deal Monday, Sept. 2. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Footballguys view: The Patriots let Thomas hit the open market after he dominated in the fourth preseason game, but there was always a good chance he would return. That happens in part because rookie first-round pick N'Keal Harry is on Injured Reserve with an ankle injury. Thomas will compete to be the No. 3 receiver for the Patriots behind Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas released    Sat Aug 31, 07:31 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas was released Saturday, Aug. 31.

Footballguys view: Thomas had a monster game in the Patriots preseason finale but it wasn't enough to get him on the 53-man roster. This could have been a cost-cutting move by the Patriots as they save around $2.7 million on the cap with this transaction.

Patriots | Two scores for Demaryius Thomas    Thu Aug 29, 11:18 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas caught seven of his eight targets for 87 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-29 preseason loss to the New York Giants Thursday, Aug. 29.

Footballguys view: Thomas looked mostly like his old self, joining his former Broncos teammate Emmanuel Sanders on the achilles recovery list. The Patriots passing game looks 100% better than it did when camp opened if a full-speed Gordon and mostly recovered Thomas are the outside receivers.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas cleared to practice    Tue Aug 20, 04:17 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) was activated from the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Footballguys view: Getting activated off the PUP list means the Patriots don't think Thomas will miss six weeks to begin the season. He might not be ready for Week 1, but Thomas feels like he could be. With Josh Gordon returning, any potential fantasy value Thomas had (if healthy) takes a hit.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas not ready yet    Mon Aug 19, 06:28 PM

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) participated in a light workout Monday, Aug. 19, but is still on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list.

Footballguys view: Thomas is getting back out there to get some light work in and he may be ready in the near future. With Josh Gordon back, the Patriots WR corps is looking better. Getting Thomas back would be a boost too. He's not the same player he used to be, but Thomas is a seasoned veteran who could be a reliable target for Tom Brady.

Patriots | Julian Edelman, Demaryius Thomas at practice    Mon Aug 19, 02:49 PM

New England Patriots WRs Julian Edelman (thumb) and Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) were spotted warming up for practice Monday, Aug. 19.

Footballguys view: Keep an eye on these two as the preseason rolls on. One of the best Patriots beat writers, ESPN's Mike Reiss, suggests it's a sign both Edelman and Thomas are being activated from the Non-Football Injury and Physically Unable to Perform lists, respectively.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas does some work    Thu Aug 15, 06:14 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) was doing full sprints on a side field during practice Thursday, Aug. 15.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a bit of a wild card in the Patriots WR corps. If healthy, he could become a favorite target of Tom Brady -- especially in the red zone. However, Thomas has struggled to stay healthy in recent years and is not quite the same player he used to be. We'll watch him as training camp and the preseason rolls on.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas not a lock    Wed Jul 24, 02:57 AM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) is a candidate to be released, in the opinion of NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal, who notes that Thomas was already showing signs of decline before suffering a serious injury.

Footballguys view: Thomas is not the same player he used to be. He does know the system as he was a first-round pick of the Broncos in 2010 when Josh McDaniels was their head coach. The Patriots have a banged up WR corps right now, including Thomas, and it's a situation/position to watch during training camp.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas placed on PUP list    Sun Jul 21, 04:50 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) is on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list entering his first season with the Pats.

Footballguys view: This was completely expected. If Thomas can make the opening day roster it will be an upset. He is more likely to either be released or stay on the PUP list during the season. His health and Josh Gordon's status with the league will be key to first round pick N'keal Harry's redraft value.

Patriots | Demaryius Thomas could be PUP candidate    Sun Jun 2, 03:31 PM

New England Patriots WR Demaryius Thomas (Achilles) could start the 2019 season on the Physically Unable to Perform list because of his Achilles tendon injury, in the opinion of The Boston Globe's Ben Volin.

Footballguys view: The contract the Patriots gave Thomas far from guaranteed a roster spot, but if he can recover, he could start and be relevant in fantasy leagues. His progress will be important to monitor when calculating the first-year value of #32 overall pick N'keal Harry.
