Broncos | Peyton Manning's arm looks stronger Mon May 20, 06:03 PM
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning was impressive during the first day of OTAs out at Dove Valley. In fact, those media members in attendance believed his arm looked stronger than it did last year.
Footballguys view: Good news for Manning and the Broncos here. Fantasy owners need to take note here and realize he could put up even better numbers than he did in 2012. Adam Gase is the new Offensive Coordinator for the Broncos and will feature 11 personnel (3 WR) as the base set. Adding Wes Welker to the mix with Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker is a fantasy gold mine. |

Broncos | Outside chance they look into free agent WR Burress Sat Jul 9, 08:19 PM
Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer at Footballguys.com, reports via Twitter that there's an outside chance the Broncos would look into acquiring free agent WR Plaxico Burress.
Footballguys view: The Broncos want to add depth to their WR corps and could be willing to give Burress a shot. He would give them a big target while second-year WR Demaryius Thomas recovers from an offseason Achilles' injury. |

Broncos | Possible interest in free agent WR Floyd? Sat Jul 9, 08:16 PM
Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer at Footballguys.com, believes the Broncos could have interest in Chargers free agent WR Malcom Floyd. The former Wyoming Cowboys star could help fill a void on the team left by the Achilles' injury to Demaryius Thomas.
Footballguys view: Some feel Thomas could begin the year on the PUP list which would force him to miss the first six weeks of the season as he recovers. Floyd could help the team stretch the field with his speed and would make a nice target in the red zone because of his size and leaping ability. |

Broncos | WR Demaryius Thomas hurts Achilles' Thu Feb 10, 05:45 PM
Vic Lombardi, from CBS4 in Denver, reports that Denver Broncos wide receiver DeMaryius Thomas has suffered a torn achilles tendon. The extent of the injury, either a partial or full tear, is not yet known. Sources tell CBS4 that Thomas suffered the injury during a recent offseason workout in Georgia.
Footballguys view: Bad news for the Broncos here. Thomas was injured last year before the draft in a workout, and is hurt once again. He's big and gets to top speed in a hurry, but he struggled to stay healthy during his rookie season. Depending on the severity of the injury Thomas could be at risk of missing most of next year. This opens the door for fellow second-year wide receiver Eric Decker to move up the Broncos depth chart. |

Redskins | WR Thomas did not participate in team drills Sun May 9, 04:33 PM
Rich Campbell, from Fredericksburg.com, reports WR Devin Thomas (hamstring) did not participate in team drills, leaving Joey Galloway and Malcolm Kelly to work with the first-string offense.
Footballguys view: The severity has not been reported, but the Redskins will take it easy on the big wideout so the injury doesn't linger. Thomas has been banged up quite a bit throughout his pro career and is missing out on an opportunity to work with new Redskins QB Donovan McNabb. |

Redskins | Shanahan/Marshall reunion unlikely Tue Apr 6, 09:54 AM
Cecil Lammey, from Lincoln Financial Media, reports a reunion of Mike Shanahan and WR Brandon Marshall is unlikely to happen. Shanahan had a frosty relationship with Marshall in Denver and thought about cutting or trading the talented wideout. Lammey speculates that Seattle is the likely destination for Marshall if he's traded.
Footballguys view: Now that Donovan McNabb is in Washington many are expecting the Redskins to bring in a playmaking wide receiver like Brandon Marshall. It's a deal that could happen, but seems like a bit of a reach. Washington has a young duo of potential playmakers in Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas, plus veteran Santana Moss. The Seahawks, Rams, and Buccaneers seem like a more likely landing spot if Brandon Marshall is traded. |

Redskins | No special treatment for Thomas Sat Sep 12, 10:30 PM
Jason Reid, from the Washington Post, notes as we learned last year, coach Jim Zorn isn't into babying players -- regardless of their status on the team. Devin Thomas will work with Rock Cartwright on kickoff returns, but Zorn expects him to take the correct approach regardless of his role on special teams or in the passing game. He expects Thomas to conduct himself as a professional. "I think it helps a guy to get the ball, but I'm hoping that he can do it ... maybe somebody just has to smack him on the sideline," Zorn said. "You know, something to get him fired up. I don't want to put that [additional duties] on a guy to always have to be ready. "He's going to kind of hold us hostage, 'Well, you didn't put me on the kickoff, so that's why I didn't play well.' That doesn't make any sense."

Redskins | Thomas to start as the 'Z' receiver Tue Aug 11, 08:49 PM
Jason Reid, from the Washington Post, reports the plan is for Devin Thomas, who returned to practice after missing time because of a hamstring injury, to start at Z receiver, or flanker, ahead of Malcolm Kelly. Top wideout Santana Moss, the X receiver, or split end, might sit out or play sparingly.
Footballguys view: Thomas has a good size/speed combination but was fairly raw coming into the league last season. He should see a lot of single coverage opposite Santana Moss, and can turn short passes into long gains. Thomas could also be a useful target in the red zone. Antwaan Randle-El works better as a slot receiver and the 'Skins will hopefully use him on more gadget plays this season. |
