The New Orleans Saints have signed RB Chris Taylor, WR Andy Tanner, OTs Phillip Trautwein and Fenuki Tupou, DT Mitch King and CB Kmaal McIlwain to future contracts. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Taylor has bounced around the NFL and is a decent reserve RB. King is a high motor guy, but has failed to play up to his potential as a pro. |

Updating a previous report, the New England Patriots had told RB Chris Taylor he would be released but have changed their mind and he is expected to play in the final preseason game, reports ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.
| Footballguys view: Okay. We don't hear this type of report every day. Perhaps if Taylor has a strong performance in the final preseason game the Patriots will keep him around on the practice squad. |

Taylor is a long shot to make the team as he's had problems staying healthy dating back to his days with the Houston Texans. He will be competing for a roster spot in a jam packed backfield with Fred Taylor, Sammy Morris, Laurence Maroney, Kevin Faulk, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis. |
