The New York Giants promoted WR Ben Edwards from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday, Dec. 24. He'll be eligible to play in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings. WR Julian Talley was re-signed to the practice squad to replace Edwards.

The New York Giants signed free-agent OT Michael Bamiro (Giants), WR Julian Talley (Giants), WR Juron Criner (Giants), WR Chris Harper (Giants), DE Jordan Stanton (Giants), CB Thomas Gordon (Giants), CB Josh Victorian (Giants), FB Nikita Whitlock (Giants), LB Unai Unga (Giants), CB Bennett Jackson (Giants) and P Robert Malone (Redskins) to futures contracts Monday, Dec. 29. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Fantasy owners in super super deep fantasy leagues should be monitoring guys like Harper and Criner. Harper is built like a TE and has good concentration. Criner has a skill set reminiscent of Marques Colston, although on a much lower level. Both are longshots worth keeping an eye on. |

New York Giants WR Julian Talley and LB Dan Fox were promoted to the team's active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Sept. 16, filling the spots left by WR Jerrel Jernigan and CB Walter Thurmond, who were both placed on Reserve/Injured.
| Footballguys view: With Jernigan out for the year, the Giants turn to Talley to take his spot. They've got the market cornered on UMASS wide receivers (Victor Cruz is the other one), and Talley is speedy in the open field. He can give them decent depth at wide receiver, but he's not the threat as a receiver that Jernigan was. Talley can also be used as a return man. |

New York Giants WRs Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Rueben Randle, Louis Murphy and Jerrel Jernigan are expected to be the team's top five wideouts. After that, there is a battle between Ramses Barden, Keith Carlos, Kevin X. Hardy and Julian Talley for the sixth receiver job, if the team elects to keep that many. WR Kris Adams (leg) was in the mix for the No. 6 job, but he fractured a leg in the preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday, Aug. 10.
