Redskins | Washington signs six players    Mon Dec 31, 05:46 PM

The Washington Redskins signed WR Carlos Henderson, T Roubbens Joseph, WR ArDarius Stewart, RB Elijah Wellman, DT JoJo Wicker and C Casey Dunn to Reserve/Futures contracts Monday, Dec. 31.

Footballguys view: Henderson was a third-round pick of the Broncos in the 2017 NFL draft. He is strong after the catch and has the speed to be dangerous with the rock in his hands. However, off field issues and a lack of discipline caused the Broncos to quickly move on from him. Stewart was also a third-round pick in the 2017 NFL draft. He lasted one year for the Jets before getting bounced, then he got a shot with the Raiders. Stewart, like Henderson, is all about run-after-the-catch ability. We'll monitor both former draft picks but only in super deep dynasty formats.

Redskins | Two signed to Washington practice squad    Wed Dec 26, 11:41 AM

Free-agent WR Carlos Henderson (Broncos) and WR ArDarius Stewart (Raiders) were signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart signed to practice squad    Fri Sep 21, 03:55 PM

The New York Jets re-signed WR ArDarius Stewart to the practice squad Friday, Sept. 21 and released WR Deontay Burnett.

Footballguys view: Burnett played with Sam Darnold at USC, but it doesn't look like they will be reunited on the field with the Jets now. Stewart is back after serving a two-game suspension, but has proven to be more of a project than expected when he came out of Alabama.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart facing suspension    Fri Jul 20, 11:35 AM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart is facing a two-game suspension for a potential violation of the NFL policy on performance-enhancing drugs, according to sources. The test was positive for a diuretic or masking agent. The suspension has not been announced and a league spokesman had no comment.

Footballguys view: There are plenty of things to like about Stewart's skill set and the second-year pro has 'tremendous long-term potential,' according to Jets wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell. Stewart is eligible to return in Week 3 of the regular season, but he can practice through training camp and participate in all the preseason games. He'll need to show well in order to stick around on a jam-packed Jets WR corps.

Jets | Still hope for ArDarius Stewart    Thu Jul 19, 09:25 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart has 'tremendous long-term potential,' according to wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell.

Footballguys view: A third-round pick out of Alabama in the 2017 NFL draft, Stewart will work with a fever that few can match. He's known as a hustler who will grind and push himself more than others. We'll see if the second-year pro can make an opportunity in 2018 in the Jets passing game. Stewart is competitive and can run a good route to get open consistently. That could make him a favorite target of rookie QB Sam Darnold. We'll be watching in the preseason to see who Darnold favors targeting. Stewart may be at the end of the depth chart for the Jets in 2018 (fifth or sixth at the position) but we're intrigued by his dynasty prospects.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart's spot safe?    Sat Jun 16, 10:08 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart should have a spot on the 53-man roster because general manager Mike Maccagnan likes to protect his draft picks, in the opinion of Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com.

Footballguys view: That's not an outlandish report whatsoever. The Jets WR corps is a bit up in the air right now, but Stewart could find himself fourth on the depth chart at the end of training camp. A third-round pick out of Alabama in the 2017 NFL draft, Stewart has a bit of Chris Hogan (Patriots) to his game and can use his run-after-the-catch ability to eat up yardage. We'll continue to monitor him in dynasty formats.

Jets | Not much progress for ArDarius Stewart     Sat Jun 2, 09:34 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart hasn't made many 'flash plays' so far during OTAs and is currently behind WR Chad Hansen on the depth chart, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNewYork.com.

Footballguys view: A third-round pick out of Alabama in the 2017 NFL draft, Stewart does a good job of making plays after the catch. He can set up defenders on underneath routes and use strength to get away from tight pursuit. It sounds like he needs to work on more of the 'wow' factor if he wants to move up the depth chart in 2018. We'll watch him closely for dynasty leagues.

Jets | Two Jets WRs to see more work    Mon Nov 6, 06:16 PM

New York Jets WRs ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen will receive more playing time because of WR Jeremy Kerley's four-game suspension, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Footballguys view: These rookie WRs are intriguing dynasty prospects we've been keeping track of. Stewart was a third-round pick out of Alabama with a physical playing style and strong run-after-the-catch ability. Hansen was a fourth-round pick out of Cal who has great body control and the talent to be a chain-mover for the Jets offense.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart scores twice    Sat Aug 26, 11:17 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart caught five passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-31 preseason loss to the New York Giants Saturday, Aug. 26.

Footballguys view: Stewart has as good a chance of any of the young Jets receivers to emerge as the #2 target. That won't mean much in terms of fantasy value in redraft, but we'll get a good luck at Stewart for dynasty leagues.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart most likely rookie to step up?    Tue Aug 8, 12:22 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart is viewed by the organization as the rookie receiver most likely to contribute in the wake of Quincy Enunwa's season-ending neck injury.

Footballguys view: It's still a stretch to see Stewart providing consistent fantasy value with the worst offense in the NFL around him. Dynasty leaguers will enjoy the long look we get at Stewart, but redraft prospects are dim for any Jet passcatcher this year.

Jets | Charone Peake to have a role    Thu Jun 29, 10:00 PM

New York Jets WR Charone Peake could lose the No. 3 receiver job to WR ArDarius Stewart, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post, but Costello believes Peake would still have a role as a weapon on the outside in four-receiver sets.

Footballguys view: We've always got love for Clemson WRs in dynasty leagues, and we'll be watching Peake's development in Jets camp this year. A seventh-round pick out of Clemson in 2016, Peake is going to have to compete with Stewart that the no3 spot behind Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson. Stewart, a third-round pick in 2017 out of Alabama is a competitive deep-ball threat. The QB situation is frightening with the Jets, but Peake or Stewart should only be on dynasty radar in fantasy leagues.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart uncertain for training camp    Fri Jun 16, 12:04 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart (thumb, groin) told reporters he does not know if he will be ready for training camp after recently undergoing thumb and groin surgeries.

Footballguys view: Stewart has missed all of OTAs and minicamp due to these two surgeries. Right now, fellow rookie Chad Hansen is in line for the no3 job with the Jets behind Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart undergoes two surgeries    Wed Jun 14, 04:13 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart (groin, thumb) recently underwent surgeries to repair his groin and thumb injuries. Head coach Todd Bowles said Stewart is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.

Footballguys view: Stewart is going to compete for the no3 wideout spot with the Jets behind Quincy Enunwa and Robby Anderson. During his college career at Alabama, Stewart stood out because of his physical play. He's a run-after-the-catch specialist and isn't much of a route runner at this point in his career. He'll compete with Charone Peake and fellow rookie Chad Hansen for targets in 2017.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart also sidelined    Tue Jun 13, 05:50 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart (groin) will not participate in minicamp this week, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Footballguys view: The Jets are running a little shorthanded at the position. They released Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa (neck) is missing minicamp and now Stewart -- likely the third WR behind Enunwa and Robby Anderson -- is banged up. The rookie from Alabama will be out for minicamp and we'll have to see if he can be ready for training camp at the end of July.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart has thumb injury    Wed Jun 7, 04:30 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart (thumb) has not practiced much lately because he is dealing with a thumb injury. Stewart is expected to have a key role in the passing game as a rookie.

Footballguys view: Stewart will vie for snaps with fourth-round pick Chad Hansen and attempt to unseat deep threat Robby Anderson as a starter. The coming release or trade of Eric Decker will open up opportunity for the young Jets receiving corps, including 2016 draft picks Charone Peake and Jalin Marshall (after his suspension).

Jets | ArDarius Stewart signs rookie deal    Thu May 25, 03:45 PM

New York Jets WR ArDarius Stewart signed his four-year rookie contract Thursday, May 25. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa are the top two receivers in a passing offense which is terrifying for all the wrong reasons. Stewart has the chance to contribute immediately, but that doesn't stand for much, given how bad the offense has the potential to be. Long term, though, Stewart has the talent to contribute when they actually put together an offense.

Jets | ArDarius Stewart makes early impression    Sun May 7, 11:38 AM

New York Jets rookie WR ArDarius Stewart had a good couple of days of practice and is the most pro-ready receiver of the wideouts who participated in rookie minicamp this week, according to NJ Advance Media's Connor Hughes.

Footballguys view: Stewart has a ton of fight in his game. He competes for everything...through the release, the route and the catch point. Stewart can work short routes and excel with his run-after-the-catch ability. However, he can also go long and track passes over his shoulder. Stewart is one of our favorite rookie WRs from this class, and he's drawn comparisons to Chris Hogan (Patriots).

Jets | ArDarius Stewart drafted by NYJ    Fri Apr 28, 10:29 PM

The New York Jets selected WR ArDarius Stewart with the 79th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Friday, April 28.

Footballguys view: Stewart looked good last year even though Alabama didn't have much of a passing offense with a freshman under center. He missed two games due to an injury though, and one due to a suspension by coach Nick Saban. The year before, he started every game and was a big factor in the Crimson Tides' National Championship run. Ultimately an average player in terms of measurables but has shown a propensity for big plays and a lot of heart. Stewart creates some explosive plays on tape, making the most out of what he has to work with.
