Buccaneers | Jevan Snead released Sun Aug 1, 03:29 PM
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released QB Jevan Snead, reports Stephen Holder, of The St. Petersburg Times.

NFL | Snead discusses his strengths Sat Feb 27, 02:55 AM
Mississippi QB Jevan Snead was asked during the NFL Scouting Combine to discuss his strengths. Snead said, "I feel like my leadership is a strength, and my knowledge of the game. I consider myself a student of the game. I love watching it, both at the facilities and taking film home and watching it. So I feel like that gives me the confidence to lead. I also feel like I can make every play on the field. I can throw every ball on the field. I've been working on all the throws and there's not one I've found that I can't make."

The Associated Press reports Mississippi QB Jevan Snead will work out at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Footballguys view: Snead's draft stock took a big hit this last year when he failed to live up to expectations after showing flashes in 2008 with Ole Miss. He has some of the tools teams desire in a starting NFL QB, but he must prove that he can read the second side of the defense and not fold under pressure like he did in 2009. |

NFL | Seven from Mississippi invited to NFL Combine Tue Feb 2, 11:46 PM
NFLCombine.net reports University of Mississippi CB Marshay Green, DE Greg Hardy, WR Shay Hodge, OT John Jerry, FS Kendrick Lewis, RB Dexter McCluster and QB Jevan Snead have been invited to participate in the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 24 to March 2.
Footballguys view: McCluster is a dangerous weapon that draws comparisons to Percy Harvin or DeSean Jackson because of his playmaking ability. Snead was once thought of as an elite prospect in college, but has been very inconsistent throughout his career. He fails to read more than one side of the field and forces too many passes into coverage. |

NFL | Snead to enter draft Thu Jan 7, 02:44 PM
ESPN reports Mississippi QB Jevan Snead will enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
Footballguys view: Jevan Snead should be a first or second-round pick in the upcoming 2010 NFL Draft. Snead looked like an up and coming prospect after his sophomore season, but his junior year was marred by inconsistent play. He can keep a play alive with his feet, and has good leadership skills, but his game is not without flaws. Snead has trouble reading both sides of the field, and can be forced into bad decisions when under pressure as evidenced by his 20 interceptions this year (after only throwing 13 in 2008). The transfer from Texas now ranks second behind Eli Manning for career touchdown passes at Ole Miss. |
