Panthers | Carolina signs 11 to futures deals    Tue Jan 9, 06:02 AM

Carolina Panthers RB Tarik Cohen, RB Mike Boone, RB Spencer Brown, WR Jalen Camp, WR Cam Sims, TE Jordan Matthews, TE Chris Pierce, OT Badara Traore, DE Raequan Williams, CB AJ Parker and CB Lamar X. Jackson signed Reserve/Future contracts on Monday, Jan. 8.

Footballguys view: There are quite a few skill position players here that Fantasy GMs in super crazy deep dynasty formats should keep an eye on. We'll still throw out some love for Jordan Matthews just because a tight end that size can be a weapon in the red zone. However, most all of these guys are running out of time to prove themselves in the NFL.

Raiders | Renfrow trade possibility?    Sun Jun 25, 03:13 PM

Vic Tafur, of The Athletic, projects WR Hunter Renfrow to get traded before the Raiders finalize their 53-man roster. He has Cam Sims making the team as the sixth wide receiver in the spot vacated by Renfrow.

Footballguys view: Tafur is a long-tenured beat writer for the Raiders, so we shouldn't discount his view. Renfrow is due $6.5 million, which could be an issue for moving him because he plays a limited role as a slot receiver. Jakobi Meyers would get a small boost if Renfrow is traded because their roles in the passing game overlap to some extent.

Commanders | Washington's injury report for Week 1    Fri Sep 9, 02:53 PM

Washington Commanders S Kamren Curl (thumb) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. TE Logan Thomas (knee) and TE Cole Turner (hamstring) were limited in practice all week and are listed as questionable. WR Cam Sims (concussion) was also limited in practice all week but no longer appears on the injury report. TE John Bates (calf), DT Phidarian Mathis (ankle) and OG Trai Turner (quad) practiced in full all week and have also been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Thomas wasn't expected to be this close to playing after suffering an ACL, MCL, and meniscus tear in Week 13 last season. He shouldn't be in lineups and probably isn't worth rostering in redraft leagues yet, but just that he's questionable this week and participating in practice is a great sign. John Bates should be the primary receiving tight end for the Commanders this week.

Football Team | Cam Sims staying put    Wed Mar 24, 03:09 PM

Washington Football Team restricted free-agent WR Cam Sims signed his tender Wednesday, March 24.

Footballguys view: Undrafted out of Alabama in 2018, Sims earned a larger role with Washington in 2020. In 11 games, Sims was targeted 48 times, catching 32 passes for 477 yards and one touchdown. He will work as a reserve receiver once again in 2021.

Football Team | Cam Sims to be tendered    Thu Mar 11, 06:32 PM

Washington Football Team restricted free-agent WR Cam Sims will receive a tender offer this offseason, according to a source.

Footballguys view: The Football Team thinks enough of Sims to give him at least two million this year, which means he has a good chance to make the team. They'll be active at wide receiver in free agency and possibly the draft and Kelvin Harmon will be returning from an ACL tear, so Sims is far from assured the starting spot he had down the stretch, but his arrow is still pointing up.
