The San Diego Chargers signed LB Bront Bird, DL Charlie Bryant, OT Stephen Schilling, CB Traye Simmons, FB Frank Summers and TE Brad Taylor to the practice squad Sunday, Sept. 4.

The San Diego Chargers have announced they have signed undrafted free-agent WR Seyi Ajirotutu (Fresno State), OT Bradt Bond (Oklahoma State), TE Richard Brockel (Boise State), TE Dajleon Farr (Memphis), WR Richard Goodman (Florida State), OG Jeff Hansen (Montana State), FS Cory Jackson (Maryland), WR Jordyn Jackson (Eastern Oregon), OT Justin Jeffries (Kentucky), P Cort Johnson (West Texas A&M), LB Brandon Lang (Troy State), RB Shawnbrey McNeal (Southern Methodist), OT Ryan Otterson (Wyoming), OT Stephan Richmond (Minnesota), CB Traye Simmons (Minnesota), WR Ernest Smith (Baylor), WR Bryan Walters (Cornell), WR Jeremy Williams (Tulane) and LB Kion Wilson (South Florida). Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Seyi Ajirotutu gets to join his college teammate (and first-round pick) Ryan Mathews in San Diego. Our very own Cecil Lammey saw Ajirotutu during the week of practice at the Shrine Game in Orlando earlier this year and came away impressed. Ajirotutu is a smooth strider that can get on top of a defense in a hurry. He was working closely with WR coach Keenan McCardell at that game, and seemed to be a fast learner and hard worker. The rookie may have to stick around on the practice squad, but he has upside to be a quality reserve one day. |
