The Indianapolis Colts met with free-agent RB Charles Scott (Giants) Friday, Sept. 30.
Footballguys view: Scott is a straight forward runner with a no nonsense style. The Colts could add him as a potential short yardage runner. |

Giants | Charles Scott involved in car accident Fri May 13, 01:02 PM
New York Giants RB Charles Scott (undisclosed) was involved in a car accident in Louisiana earlier this week but did not suffer any career threatening injuries and should be fine. Scott did spend some time in a hospital's ICU but has been taken out of the unit. Scott's agent said Scott suffered cuts and bruises.
Footballguys view: We're glad to hear that Scott is okay after this car crash. He's buried on the Giants depth chart but is a strong inside runner who can fill a role as a short yardage specialist. |

Eagles | Rookie Scott the likely third-string RB Tue Jul 20, 05:10 PM
The Eagles official website reports sixth-round draft pick Charles Scott (LSU) appeared to bump ahead of veteran Eldra Buckley in the spring, and he likely heads into training camp as the No. 3 halfback.
Footballguys view: Fantasy owners need to remember the name Charles Scott. He's got a nose for the end zone and is a powerful runner who gets stronger as the game goes on. Scott reminds many in the scouting community of former Bengals back Rudi Johnson because of his straight ahead no-nonsense style. Scott is currently behind LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell, but could see an increase in playing time if Bell is injured (again). |

Eagles | Know running game remains vital Sat Jun 26, 05:05 PM
Eric Edholm, from ProFootballWeekly.com, reports that with all of the talk about how the offense will be different with the change from Donovan McNabb to Kevin Kolb at quarterback, it's easy to forget how important the run game might be in the big picture. It's nearly a given that the Eagles will throw the ball more than they run it this season. Since Andy Reid took over in 1999, the team has thrown the ball more than it passed it every season and has hovered around the 60 percent passing mark several times. But taking pressure off Kolb to win games by himself will be an important element of the Eagles' offensive identity.
Footballguys view: LeSean McCoy is going to be the main man for the Eagles, but shouldn't be a guy who gets 22-25 carries a game. Instead, the Eagles will complement him with veteran power back Mike Bell. Because he's been injury prone during his pro career, the Eagles have an option behind Bell (rookie Charles Scott) in case he gets banged up again. Fullback Leonard Weaver has been told that he won't see as many carries this year as he had last season, but he'll still be relied on as a receiver out of the backfield. |

Eagles | Charles Scott agrees to terms Wed Jun 2, 09:29 AM
The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with RB Charles Scott on a four-year contract, the team announced Wednesday, June 2. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Charles Scott reminds us of former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson because he's a no nonsense runner. He's not elusive in the open field, but can grind out yards between the tackles. He's behind LeSean McCoy and Mike Bell, but could be in for more playing time this year if Bell is unable to stay healthy. |

Patriots | C. Scott visited team Sun Apr 11, 10:57 PM
Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports Louisiana State RB Charles Scott had an official visit with the New England Patriots this past week, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Charles Scott is seen as a late-round draft pick, but scouts compare his upside to former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson. Scott is a straight ahead power runner that makes his living between the tackles. He doesn't have much wiggle or burst in the open field, but he can pick up tough yards when necessary. |

Browns | C. Scott to work out for team Mon Mar 22, 07:35 PM
Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports Louisiana State RB Charles Scott has a workout scheduled with the Cleveland Browns.
Footballguys view: Charles Scott is a powerful straight line runner that reminds many in the scouting community of former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson. The Browns have a need for a big power back to complement Jerome Harrison, although FB Peyton Hillis could play that role. |

Ed Thompson, of Scout.com, reports Louisiana State RB Charles Scott has an official visit scheduled with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a source.

NFL | C. Scott will run at NFL Combine Sat Feb 27, 02:55 AM
Louisiana State RB Charles Scott (clavicle) said he will do all of the running drills at the NFL Scouting Combine, but he will not do the bench press. Scott suffered a broken right clavicle during the season that needed to be plated with six screws. Scott says he is "waiting for my Pro Day just to try to get it back to full strength to do the bench press."
Footballguys view: Scott is a big, bruising back that reminds some in the scouting community of former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson. |

NFLCombine.net reports Louisiana State DE Rahim Alem, DT Charles Alexander, OT Ciron Black, LB Harry Coleman, CB Chris Hawkins, WR/RB Trindon Holliday, FS Chad Jones, WR Brandon Lafell, LB Perry Riley, RB Charles Scott, RB Keiland Williams and DT Al Woods have been invited to participate in the 2010 NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 24 to March 2.
Footballguys view: Holliday is a diminutive playmaker in the mold of Cardinals RB LaRod Stephens-Howling. Lafell is considered to be one of the best wide receivers in this draft class. Scott will remind people of former Bengals RB Rudi Johnson, and Keiland Williams will have to earn his way on special teams - but has the skill set to contribute as a running back. |

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports University of Alabama RB Roy Upchurch has been added to the South roster for the 2010 Senior Bowl to replace Louisiana State RB Charles Scott (collarbone).
