'I'm leaning more toward playing than I was a month ago,' Schobel said. 'I don't know what the Bills would do or how much time they would give me (to make a decision), but I'm thinking about it.' Schobel added he is expected to make a decision soon. 'I'm going to try to make a decision within the next 10 days,' Schobel said. 'But that does not mean I'm going to report in 10 days.'

CBSSports.com reports Bills head coach Chan Gailey said following his team's last spring workout that he's willing to wait until training camp for LB Aaron Schobel to decide whether or not he's going to play this season, but that's as long as he'll wait. "We would like to have had him here but he chose not to and he's got a tough decision in his life to make and we understand that," Gailey said. "It's not like we don't understand, we do understand. He'll have a lot of catching up to do when he gets here. ... [T]here's a natural [deadline]. Training camp gets here and you go from there."

Footballguys view: Schobel has been considering retirement, but may be trying to force a trade here. We'll see what happens as we get closer to training camp.

Footballguys view: Schobel is still playing at a high enough level to have a few more years left in the league. It would be a shame to see him leave early because his team is going downhill.

Footballguys view: Schobel is probably the most important player on the Bills defense. He hasn't had any reported problems coming back from the lis franc injury that sidelined him last year, but he is over 30, and he must stay healthy for the team to have a chance to have a real pass rush this year.
