Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders nearing full practice    Thu Jul 18, 03:15 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) didn't participate in team periods at practice Thursday, July 18, but told NFL Network's James Palmer he could do them if he was allowed by the coaches and training staff. Sanders is expected to a 'full go' for practice in two to three weeks, according to Palmer.

Footballguys view: Sanders looked great on the first day of training camp. He did not do work in team drills, but Sanders looked like his old self during individual drills. We should see him eased in as training camp continues.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders to avoid PUP    Wed Jul 17, 01:57 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') will not open camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list, according to team president John Elway.

Footballguys view: Good news for the Broncos and Sanders here. His 2018 season ended after 12 games due to this Achilles' injury and Sanders has been working diligently to get back ever since then. He has been running at full speed and cutting this offseason, but Sanders did not get any work in OTAs or minicamp. The Broncos will ease him into action and we may not see much of Sanders in the preseason as they want the veteran ready for the start of the regular season.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders to be worked in gradually    Tue Jul 16, 03:24 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) told The Athletic's Nicki Jhabvala that he is 'definitely not going to be full-go from the jump' in training camp. He also said the plan is to gradually work him back to full practices.

Footballguys view: That's the best move for the Broncos in camp. Sanders is a seasoned veteran and doesn't need a ton of work in the preseason. He's been running at full speed and cutting, but there's no need to rush him back and risk an aggravation of the Achilles' injury that cut short his 2018 season. Sanders should be the No. 2 receiver for the Broncos this year so long as Courtland Sutton takes over as the top target.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders aiming for Week 1    Mon Jul 1, 12:45 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') feels Week 1 is a realistic return date, and that he can return to Pro Bowl form.

Footballguys view: Sanders is by far the most experienced receiver on the Broncos roster, so that should help him establish quick chemistry with new quarterback Joe Flacco. He still need to get some practice time in this summer to accomplish that, so we'll be watching this. If Sanders can be ready for Week 1, he should be the most valuable Broncos receiver as long as he's healthy.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders ahead of schedule    Tue Jun 4, 05:58 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) could return sooner than people think, according to head coach Vic Fangio on Tuesday, June 4. Fangio said his prediction wasn't based on any medical update.

Footballguys view: Sanders played just the first 12 games of the 2018 season before being placed on injured reserve. He's been seen at Broncos OTAs running in a straight line but has yet to make cuts at full speed. At this point, it seems like Sanders should be good for the start of the regular season.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders able to move laterally    Tue May 7, 10:06 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) began running in cleats last week and has added lateral movements to his workout in recent days, although he has not attempted to start running an entire route tree as of Tuesday, May 7.'When I do run full speed, I feel good. I wouldn't say we're ahead of schedule, I wouldn't say we're behind schedule. I just feel like we're somewhere in between. We'll see how it goes once I start running routes and how I feel to see if I'm ready to go. .. 'It's been feeling good. Still sore every now and then,' Sanders told the Denver Post.

Footballguys view: Sanders is on the right track for his recovery from Achilles' surgery but we probably won't see him do much in training camp or the preseason. Fantasy GMs need to recognize that second-year WR Courtland Sutton is going to be the Broncos no.1 receiver in 2019. That makes Sanders a valuable no.2 wide receiver in Denver, but it does hurt his fantasy stock. The Broncos won't fill the air with footballs this season, making Sutton more of a fantasy WR2 and Sanders in the WR3 range with upside.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders progressing well    Fri May 3, 03:11 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) was spotted running with cleats for the first time Friday, May 3 - his first such activity since suffering a torn Achilles on Dec. 5.

Footballguys view: Sanders should be back on the field sometime around training camp. We should see second-year pro Courtland Sutton take over as the no.1 receiver for the Broncos. If healthy, Sanders makes for a fine no.2 receiver.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders present for minicamp    Wed Apr 17, 10:44 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) is present for minicamp, but he has either been working on a side field or doing no work as he makes his way back from an Achilles' injury. 'Everything we've been told and what he's said, he's progressing well,' head coach Vic Fangio said Tuesday, April 16.

Footballguys view: Sanders is out there for the Broncos but he won't be at full strength until training camp...hopefully. Expect second-year pro Courtland Sutton to emerge as the no.1 wide receiver for the Broncos in 2019. When Sanders is healthy, he should serve as the second target in the passing game behind Sutton.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders ahead of schedule    Sun Mar 10, 12:51 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) tweeted Sunday, March 10, that's he's 'wayyy ahead of schedule' in his recovery from an Achilles tendon tear suffered in December.

Footballguys view: Good news for the veteran receiver here. Sanders showed last year that he still has plenty left in the tank and should still be the Broncos no.1 receiver when healthy. We probably won't see him do much until training camp, even though he's ahead of schedule in his recovery.

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders's option will be picked up, according to general manager John Elway.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders refuses to restructure deal    Tue Feb 19, 10:43 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achillies') is sheduled to count $12.94 million against the salary cap in 2019, but he appears to have no interest in restructuring his contract entering the final year of his deal.

Footballguys view: Sanders said 'no way Jose' to the suggestion from 104.3 The Fan in Denver that the team may look to restructure the veteran receiver. Denver has until March 12 to exercise his 2019 option, which would trigger a $1.5 million guarantee of his salary. In the event they choose to release him, the Broncos will save $10.25 million against the cap.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders progressing    Thu Feb 14, 10:23 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') said he is no longer wearing a walking boot but still has a 'slight limp' when walking around.

Footballguys view: Sanders is working diligently to return. He's a veteran leader in that locker room but his status with the team is up in the air. Sanders has a bonus that needs to be paid (around $7 million) before the start of the new league year. He could be the deep threat for new QB Joe Flacco if healthy.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders' option on table    Fri Feb 8, 12:19 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles) has a $10.25 million option due on his 2019 contract, and the Broncos have until March 13 to exercise that option.

Footballguys view: Sanders may not be ready for the start of training camp as he continues to recover from this injury. He showed leadership ability last year for a young Broncos WR corps behind him, guiding talents like Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton. The Broncos could keep Sanders around for one more year.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders undergoes surgery    Sat Dec 8, 01:17 AM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') had successful surgery to repair his Achilles' tendon Thursday, Dec. 6. His rehab is expected to take between six and eight months.

Footballguys view: Sanders will be in a race to be ready for Week 1 next year and there's no guarantee that he'll get back to his old self, although other wide receivers like Michael Crabtree have. He's still a hold in dynasty leagues as he was playing better than his numbers suggested.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders faces lengthy recovery    Thu Dec 6, 12:45 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') has a long road ahead of him in his recovery from a torn Achilles' tendon. Former NFL team doctor David Chao said the earlier expected recover time is six months for this injury, but players aren't always at full health that soon. A more realistic recover time is between nine months to a year, according to Chao.

Footballguys view: Sanders dynasty stock took a big hit with this injury. The Broncos were very prudent when they drafted two wide receivers this year.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders lands on IR    Wed Dec 5, 05:58 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 5, after suffering a torn Achilles' tendon in practice Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Footballguys view: A huge blow for the Broncos passing game here. Sanders is their no.1 receiver, especially after the team traded away Demaryius Thomas earlier this year. Without Sanders, the Broncos will turn to Courtland Sutton as their top wideout.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sander has torn tendon    Wed Dec 5, 02:37 PM

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in practice Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Footballguys view: Bad news for the Broncos offense here. They'll move forward with Courtland Sutton as their no.1 wide receiver. Fellow rookie DaeSean Hamilton should take over as their no.2 receiver with Tim Patrick working into the mix. Sutton is more of a WR3 or flex with his enlarged role and Hamilton is more of a deep flex play. The Broncos are great running the ball, expect them to lean on the ground game more than ever moving forward.

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders posted just four grabs for 19 yards on six targets in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Footballguys view: Case Keenum was off on Sunday, and that's why Sanders didn't have better numbers as a receiver. His rushing touchdown helped his day, and we like projecting Sanders as a WR2 with upside due to his role and chemistry with his quarterback.

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders was absent from practice on Wednesday, Aug. 8, but he was simply getting a day off to rest.

Footballguys view: Sanders has been on fire in Broncos training camp. His current ADP (WR32, 7.03) makes him a potential value for Fantasy GMs. He's clearly over the ankle injury that plagued him last year and showing strong chemistry with new starting quarterback Case Keenum.

Broncos | Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders absent    Mon Jun 4, 02:03 PM

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders were not present for organized team activities Monday, June 4.

Footballguys view: According to head coach Vance Joseph, both Thomas and Sanders had personal matters to attend to. The Broncos drafted two WRs this year that dynasty owners should be excited about. Both Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton have the makings of solid NFL players who could perhaps have star potential in the future. Thomas and Sanders are the top two wideouts for now, but Sutton and Hamilton are clearly being groomed to take over (perhaps in 2019?).

Broncos | Denver counting on Carlos Henderson    Thu Mar 29, 11:20 PM

Denver Broncos WR Carlos Henderson has to win his one-on-one matchups to help out WR Demaryius Thomas and WR Emmanuel Sanders, according to head coach Vance Joseph. 'We're counting on that kid to come in and play for us, especially in the slot,' Joseph said.

Footballguys view: Denver shouldn't be counting on Henderson. He looked bad last year in camp before suffering a hand injury that ended his rookie season. Henderson didn't run a complex route tree at Louisiana Tech but can be utilized effectively on drag routes or go routes. We'll see if he can be the no3 WR the Broncos need.

Denver Broncos WRs Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders could both stay on the roster in an effort to better lure a big-name quarterback, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Sanders, in particular, had been rumored to be traded or released this offseason.

Footballguys view: The Broncos don't have a lot in the passing game, and they'll have even less if they get rid of Thomas or Sanders. Denver is likely to make a huge push for QB Kirk Cousins. Having Thomas and Sanders on the roster would help entice Cousins to the Mile High City.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders on trade block?    Sat Feb 10, 12:22 PM

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders could be placed on the trade block this offseason because of his salary and his uncertain durability, in the opinion of The Denver Post's Nicki Jhabvala. Sanders missed four games this season because of an ankle injury and is scheduled to have salary cap hits of around $10.9 million and $12.9 million over the next two seasons.

Footballguys view: Sanders just isn't worth the money the team is paying him...especially if the team is going to be more run heavy in 2018. His contract is not outlandish, but the Broncos shouldn't be expecting much in return if a team is willing to trade for the veteran receiver.
