Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (shoulder) will likely be a game-time decision against the San Diego Chargers in Week 7. Also, WR Ace Sanders (concussion) hasn't practiced all week and is unlikely to play. The swelling in Shorts' shoulder has subsided, but he's still dealing with some pain. 'I ran around today in walk-through and felt pretty good,' Shorts said. 'It's going to hurt. So we'll see how it goes. No decision yet but I'm excited about my chances.' Shorts was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 17, and head coach Gus Bradley said he won't practice Friday, Oct. 18.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Chad Henne isn't guaranteed to start in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, even though QB Blaine Gabbert (hand) is expected to miss another game. Henne went 25-for-38 for 241 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 against the Oakland Raiders. Henne was sacked five times. WR Cecil Shorts was targeted 14 times and had eight grabs for 93 yards and WR Ace Sanders had five catches for 64 yards.

He tracks the ball well and has the body control to adjust to poorly thrown passes. Sanders wasn't asked to run the full route tree in college at South Carolina and needs to develop that skill to play up to his potential as a pro. He's not the biggest player (5'7" 175 lbs) and some question whether or not he can take the NFL beating and stay in the lineup. |
