Vikings | Kyle Rudolph retiring    Mon Sep 4, 10:57 AM

Free-agent TE Kyle Rudolph (Buccaneers) will sign a one-day contract to retire with the Minnesota Vikings for the Week 3 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Footballguys view: Rudolph went to college at Notre Dame and came into the league as a second-round pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He spent several seasons with the Vikings (2011-2020) earning two Pro Bowl nods. In 2021, Rudolph was with the Giants and last year he spent the season with the Buccaneers. He finishes his career with 482 receptions, 4,773 yards, and 50 touchdowns.

Buccaneers | Kyle Rudolph poised to replace Gronk?    Mon Jul 25, 01:45 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kyle Rudolph 'figures to inherit the bulk of (Rob) Gronkowski's workload' this season, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Footballguys view: The signing of Rudolph sure seemed like bad news for Cameron Brate. When a longtime beat writer believes that Rudolph will have something close to Gronkowski's role, it basically makes Brate undraftable, even in tight end premium leagues. We'll keep him on the waiver wire watch list (along with Rudolph) to see who Tom Brady's favorite is in the red zone.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay adds Kyle Rudolph    Wed Jul 20, 10:50 PM

Free-agent TE Kyle Rudolph (Giants) agreed to a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday, July 20, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Rudolph goes to the Buccaneers as a reserve behind starter Cameron Brate. Rookie Cade Otton has dynasty GMs excited as well. We could see Rudolph get some work in the red zone, essentially taking the place of retired TE Rob Gronkowski. There's not a lot of fantasy value here with Rudolph even though he's on a great team.

NFL | Two teams interested in Kyle Rudolph    Thu Jul 14, 07:14 PM

Free-agent TE Kyle Rudolph (Giants) is drawing interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Footballguys view: The Bucs make a lot of sense. Cameron Brate's value isn't great outside of tight end premium leagues, and a Rudolph signing would make it a little shakier. Irv Smith is set to be the prime tight end for the Vikings. A Rudolph return would be a small bummer for those that drafted Smith already, but he has the ability to lead Rudolph in his dust if he's healthy and developing on time entering year 4.

Broncos | Denver works out Kyle Rudolph    Fri Apr 8, 08:49 PM

Free-agent TE Kyle Rudolph (Giants) recently worked out for the Denver Broncos.

Footballguys view: It makes sense on a couple of levels. First, the Broncos need a tight end after sending Noah Fant to the Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson trade. Second, Albert Okwuegbunam is their top tight end - and he's good - but he's also injury prone. Finally, Broncos GM George Paton was a top executive with the Vikings when Rudolph was there and knows the veteran well. Even if the Broncos add Rudolph, we expect them to address the position in the 2022 NFL draft.

Giants | Kyle Rudolph cut    Wed Mar 2, 10:54 AM

New York Giants TE Kyle Rudolph thanked the Giants and the fans on Twitter Wednesday, March 2, signaling he was cut. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted that Rudolph was on the books for $5 million.

Footballguys view: Rudolph didn't do much with the Giants in 2021. He caught 26 passes for 257 yards and one touchdown. Some team out there could be considering Rudolph for veteran tight end depth.
